So, I'm trying to figure out if Ray has an "angle" with this reporter (because she's attractive, so naturally they're going to end up in bed), or if he's just showing his typical weakness with women, or was that part of the reporter's plan.

And I can't stand Abby, but kudos to her for shutting her snooty ass, condescending neighbor down.

Mickey figures Ray has bribed Bunk the parole officer.

 

But he sees that as Ray trying to screw him over when in fact, he's trying to prevent Cochran from throwing Mickey back in jail.

If Mickey goes to jail he's going to talk, and that means a lot more Donovans will be going to jail.  And Bunk, too, for that matter.

 

The less said about Stu and the porn star the better.  So, so unnecessary.  I guess it was supposed to be funny but it just wasn't.

 

I don't know why Abby got so pissy about the maybe-neighbor.  As a New England exile, if I hear the accent I'm going to ask what part of NE they hail from.  Just because.

The story line with the daughter and the young singer makes me queasy.

I thought the whole Stu plot line was kind of funny.  The Stu character is just such an unbelievable douchebag and his antics so over the top - I got a kick out of it.  Especially enjoyed Ray having an idea how it would play out, and being slightly amused when it did in fact play out that way.

 

Mickey continues to gross me out.  I really don't get how all these people love him, or even tolerate him.  Just ugh.  

 

I thought Abby's response to the neighbor was totally out of line, but then I figured maybe she's extra defensive about it because she's trying to get the better house in the better neighborhood with a daughter in the better school, but she's still afraid of being thought of as poor trash, or something?  I don't know - I don't really get her character.  But I am super happy she spoke up to Ray about the sex situation.  That needed to be settled, and he needed to realize how he was making her feel.

I think Abby's issue was less with her own accent and more about being judged where she is from. I don't have an accent but I am asked where I am from regularly, and it drives me crazy because, like Abby's neighbor, it's not someone who thinks we are from the same place but it's someone just being nosy. It's not that I keep where I'm from a secret, but I also don't understand why complete strangers walk up to me and ask me where I'm from. After years of this, I'm just tired of it. I could see Abby being tired of being asked about it too.

 

Stu, as always, is a spoiled man child douchebag. I loved that Ray didn't have to do anything but stand back and let Stu be Stu in order to get what he ultimately wanted. That's the kind of dumbass Stu is.

I adore Live Schreiber, but is there a single redeeming character on this entire show? Abby is an idiot with no self esteem. Mickey is just disgusting. Ray, for all Liev's incredible hotness, is a douchecanoe. I dunno, I keep trying to make some sense of all this, but I can't.

I think this is the primary downfall of this show.  As I see it, there are few if any redeeming characters.  Even the kids aren't very likeable.  I wouldn't mind if instead of the Bel Air Academy, Bridget goes to boarding school out of state.  And she can take her brother with her as far as I am concerned.  Lena and Avi don't have enough screen time to satisfy me, so right now, the only character I halfway like is the Bunk's and even he isn't above board!
