I mean Calvin spends all that time shining up his baby just to drive her through the desert? It made no sense.

I feel like Dave should have respected Calvin's wishes to get to his car show...he was the guest, after all and Calvin just allowed him to tag along. If he wants to get there in time because he is participating in a competition, that is perfectly understandable.

People around here drive their show cars all the time -- especially to car shows.  I spoke with a guy a couple of days ago who had a really spectacular, rare Corvette that he drove across town to the tennis courts.  He even parked it under a tree!

Reving the tires and kicking all that sand onto the paint job, get a trailer and haul it there. He was crying so hard, when Dave almost touched it, about fingerprints. Imagine if Dave had touched the car with the "World's Coldest (and Stickiest) Lemonade" on his hands.
