paulvdb December 11, 2020 Share December 11, 2020 Quote The castaways are still reeling after a tragic event. Frustrated by everyone else’s inaction, Rachel leads an expedition to the island’s summit to get a lay of the land. We learn more about her career as an elite athlete, the extreme measures she’s taken to succeed, and the brutal truth that she isn’t sharing with the others. Link to comment
MoreCoffeePlease December 22, 2020 Share December 22, 2020 I hate Rachel so much!!! And that is saying a lot since a lot of the women are not exactly pleasant. What is with Rachel's sister? Is she on the spectrum or just smart and quirky? The head bang from the diving board ... ouch! How do divers learn to do what they do? I do like the woman who has watched Survivor and other survival shows. 😄 2 Link to comment
lorikauai January 3, 2021 Share January 3, 2021 What happens to Rachel’s hand??? Yikes. My 14 yr old DD had way more sympathy for Rachel than Leah. DD is a dancer so I suppose she relates more to that struggle than Leah’s boyfriend obsession. Rachel has the added pressure of having a twin who is gifted academically so it makes sense that she would need diving to feel special. Who do we think the remaining operative is? I suspect Nora because she is so smart and is desperate to save her sister. Maybe she thinks this is going to be empowering? Otherwise maybe Dot? She did mention watching all the survival shows. 3 Link to comment

Rachel and Leah are probably my least favorites but I do sympathize more with Rachel as well. I think it's the same as your DD, it's because I find the struggle of competing with your twin for parental approval (not that I even have a sibling, but I have a cousin who was like a sister and always felt I was in competition with her even though no one ever really made us feel that way) more interesting than Leah's story. I can't remember what point they are at in this ep, but from the moment she saw him, her writing idol, I knew they'd end up in some kind of bad relationship and I had no patience for it. I am one of, seemingly very few if any, fans of Nora. I found her super interesting. I will say that the show did a decent job of making it seem that any of them could be the operative. No one seemed overly obvious and I couldn't really write any of them off completely. 2 Link to comment

It's hard to comment and not spoil future episodes, since I know my own reactions to the characters by the finale! Hope you are enjoying it! 1 1 Link to comment
