Meredith Quill September 23, 2020 Share September 23, 2020 Your Media Topic! Quote The Three-Body Problem, the story of humanity’s first contact with an alien civilization inspired by the triliogy novel series of Liu Cixin, will be adapted as a Netflix series from David Benioff, D.B. Weiss and Alexander Woo. http://www.spoilertv.com/2020/09/the-three-body-problem-ordered-to.html The books portrays a more advanced Earth-like planet in the next star system, whose universe consists of three solar-type stars orbiting each other in an extremely complex orbital system, the computation of which is the three-body problem. Can our Earth come up with a plan to repeal an invasion from a more advanced civilization in the time it takes them to cross a galaxy from their planet to ours. Can the people of Earth work together if we can not be sure which side each person is on. Earth races time and space searching for a solution. Link to comment

AnimeMania December 21, 2020 Share December 21, 2020 WHAT THE WHAT?????????? Filming completed for Chinese TV adaptation of The Three-Body Problem Oh, this is the 24 Episode Live-Action TV version filmed in Chinese for a Chinese audience. It took about six months to film and was in development for more than four years. I wonder how they handled "Diversity" since this is a story has a World scope, not just a Chinese scope. I should watch "The Wandering Earth" on Netflix to get an idea, since it is another story written by Cixin Liu and made in China, that focuses on Global matters. An animated adaptation of the novel, announced last year as a project by Chinese online video sharing platform Bilibili, is scheduled for release next year. Netflix better get their butts in gear or everybody will know the story and the market will be saturated. As far as I can tell, the Netflix version is still in it's earliest developmental stages. AnimeMania March 10 Share March 10 (edited) The 3 Body Problem is an 8 episode TV Series set to stream on Netflix on March 21, 2024. The first Season of The 3 Body Problem uses portions from all 3 volumes of The Three-Body Problem 2008 book trilogy written by Liu Cixin. While at the same time removes, adds, changes the gender and the race of multiple characters. They also compress time and switch many of the Chinese locations for locations in Oxford, England, in an attempt to make relatable, a story designed to take centuries to unfold. The initial setting is the year 1966, during China’s Cultural Revolution, a young woman, Ye Wenjie, in a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization, the Trisolarians, on the brink of their world's destruction intercepts the signal and makes plans to invade Earth. Mirabelle April 21 Share April 21 The lastest episode of They Call Us Bruce podcast has interviews with Alexander Wood and Derek Tsang (producer and director, respectively). Some interesting stuff including Netflix only had the English rights so the majority of the dialogue had to be in English.
