Joimiaroxeu March 13, 2023 Share March 13, 2023 Richard Madden is my odds-on favorite to be the next James Bond so I was a little disappointed to see him doing some kind of generic American accent here. Whatever, not sure I understand why Amazon is going all in on this unless they expect it to do extremely well outside of the U.S. viewing market. Citadel seems to me like a very expensive version of the new TV series True Lies on CBS. 1 Link to comment

AnimeMania April 17, 2023 Share April 17, 2023 Amazon Nabs $35 Million in Tax Incentives, Will Move ‘Citadel’ to California Amazon has been awarded $35.3 million in state tax incentives for TV production, including the largest amount ever granted by the state of California for a single film or TV season. Citadel, a big-budget spy thriller set to debut on April 28, was awarded $25 million to relocate to California from the U.K. for its second season with another "undisclosed" TV series receiving $10.3 million. The state offers incentives of 25% for TV shows that relocate from other states. If “Citadel” continues beyond a second season and stays in California, it will also automatically qualify for a 20% tax credit. Link to comment

Citadel, the TV Series and the Spy Agency, is a truly global franchise, the US, Mexico, Italy, India, and Spain will all have their own Citadel TV Series adaptations with inter-connected story lines and events, even though the timelines might be different. Italy has finished production on its first season with Matilda De Angelis as lead actor. India is in production, with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Prabhu as lead actors. The Indian series main characters will have ties with Nadia Sinh. The US Citadel TV Series was filmed in Atlanta, Miami, London, Morocco, and Valencia, Spain and has already been renewed for a second season. Eight years ago, Citadel, the independent global spy agency, created after the 1st World War, which was tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people, fell. It was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a world-dominating shadow organization formed to manipulate global events in service of a controlling power known as “the families”, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. Manticore's latest plot is to secure the access codes for all the nuclear weapons of every nation on the planet. After Citadel fell, from Manticore's deadly attack, Citadel's elite agents were wiped of their memories. With Citadel out the way, Manticore rose to fill the void. And it’s now up to a former Citadel operative, Bernard Orlick, to reform the agency and stop Manticore from establishing a New World Order. Two of Citadel's elite agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, with erased memories, have remained off the radar for years, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Then one night, Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick, who is in desperate need of Mason's help and restores some of his memories. Mason then seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love. The story might be a little confusing as it jumps between the past and the present without the characters aging. Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Kyle's wife Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy, Kyle's daughter Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, the British Ambassador to the United States, whose loyalties may lie elsewhere. She is sharp, calculating, highly cunning and ambitious, which makes her both a valuable asset and a formidable foe. Her influence throughout the world of espionage is as far-reaching as it is devastating. Roland Møller as Laszlo Milla, a former top Citadel agent, turned lead operative of Citadel’s rival intelligence agency, Manticore, Laszlo was incarcerated in a Citadel detention facility for years. All that time was spent stewing over the man responsible for his capture, Mason Kane. Now liberated, Laszlo sets his sights on getting revenge on Mason and bringing down Citadel once and for all. AnimeMania July 5, 2023 Share July 5, 2023 Amazon Had 2 Versions of ‘Citadel.’ It Chose the Russo Cut There were two cuts of the series, one from writers Josh Appelbaum and Bryan Oh and another semi-secret one from Joe and Anthony Russo. Prime Video chose the Russo version. There was originally a love story between Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden and other plot points that were removed resulting in half of the series having to be re-filmed at an additional cost of 80 million dollars. 1 Link to comment
