AnimeMania March 15, 2022 Share March 15, 2022 Outer Range is trippy Western thriller with 8 one-hour episodes, that will premiere April 15 on Prime Video and air 2 episodes each week on Friday. Filming occurred in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Calgary, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe. Outer Range centers on Royal Abbott, a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming's wilderness. A thrilling Western family saga, a fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery, Outer Range examines how we grapple with the unknown. At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture. Extraterrestrials? Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time contains secrets held in the past and unsettling mysteries foreshadowed. Josh Brolin is an executive producer and also plays Royal Abbott, an old-school cowboy and patriarch tested by horrors both known and unknown. In the former category: His daughter-in-law has gone missing, and simmering tension with the rival Tillerson family is about to reach a boil. Lili Taylor plays Cecilia Abbott, the gun-toting, horse-riding, tough as nails woman of faith, which she will find tested as never before. The wife of Royal. Tom Pelphrey plays Perry Abbott, Royal’s dutiful and eldest son, who is torn up inside by the lingering mystery of his missing wife, Rebecca. Lili Taylor, Josh Brolin, Tom Pelphrey Olive Abercrombie plays Amy Abbott, daughter of Perry and Rebecca Abbott. Amy Abbott is a fiercely independent ranch girl. Her anxieties begin to mount as her mother goes missing and she sees her family entrenched in a criminal investigation. Tom Pelphrey, Olive Abercrombie Lewis Pullman plays Rhett Abbott, Royal’s younger, more rebellious son. He never thought much past his ambition to become a championship bull rider — until a shocking event, and a girl that has just returned to town, push him to reconsider everything he thought he knew. Isabel Arraiza plays Maria Olivares. Maria went to high school with Rhett. Now she’s back from college, unexpectedly, and looking for more than just a fresh start. Lewis Pullman, Isabel Arraiza Will Patton plays Wayne Tillerson, the ailing Tillerson patriarch. Ruthlessly capitalistic, crafty, superstitious, and dangerous, Wayne Tillerson is a man who is used to getting what he wants – and the kind of man you want to keep as far away as possible. He and Royal have known each other for over fifty years – and there is no love lost between the two of them. Deirdre O’Connell plays Patricia Tillerson, wife of Wayne Tillerson. Thaddeus Wojcik plays Young Wayne Tillerson. Noah Reid plays Billy Tillerson, the youngest of the three Tillerson brothers. Ethereal and unsettling, Billy sings often, his heart pouring over, like an inner tide of something he can’t hold back. Shaun Sipos plays Luke Tillerson. Arch-rival to the neighboring Abbotts, Luke runs the day-to-day business of his family’s sprawling ranching operation. His ruthless competitive streak turns vengeful and toxic when there is a sudden turn of events for his family. Matt Lauria plays Trevor Tillerson, eldest of the three Tillerson brothers and the temperamental workhorse of his family. He takes out his frustrations on his neighbors, the Abbotts, and his aggression manages to move the simmering feud to a rolling boil whenever he crosses paths with an Abbott. Imogen Poots plays Autumn, an enigmatic, seemingly out-of-place young visitor, who sets up camp on the land and promises disruption. An itinerant woman who charms the Abbotts enough to let her camp on their land. A seeker of cosmic truths with a checkered past, she lives without regrets and embraces the unknown with reckless abandon. patty1h April 16 Share April 16 I watched this fever dream of a show back when it originally aired - it started out interesting but by the 3-4th episode I was annoyed by the storytelling and confused by everything else. Imagine my surprise when I saw today that this show is back. A big thanks to @AnimeMania for the above recap and list of characters as I blocked a lot of this out. I do remember I had an extreme dislike of the character Autumn. Maybe there will be less of her this season... I hope. I will watch to see if things have gotten more coherent in this new season, but I don't have high expectations. Maybe? 1 Link to comment

ROEHUNTER July 4 Share July 4 17 hours ago, WildFlower87 said: Cancelled https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/outer-range-josh-brolin-canceled-amazon-1235938810/ I used to believe that waiting to see if a show gets renewed or has a satisfying ending before starting it wasn’t necessary. However, I’m reconsidering my stance now. It’s frustrating to begin shows only to have them end after just one or two seasons without resolving the plot. 1 Link to comment
Kip Hackman July 5 Share July 5 I had a feeling that this show was going to get even weirder, so maybe this cancellation wasn't a bad thing. I did enjoy it, though. 1 Link to comment
