catherinejane May 18, 2020 Share May 18, 2020 The end scenes are for the arrow crossover next week. But (assuming you are in UK like me) we do NOT get it next week, E4 are skipping it and showing it at the end of batwoman episodes. Which sucks. I had recorded the other 4 shows and was waiting to watch them. my main comment was about Alice and how long she was held, she was taken at what 12/13? and held for 13 years? so making her 24/25 on escape and mouse older? Seems odd to not have tried to escape when more adult. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/104650-s01e08-a-mad-tea-party/page/2/#findComment-6134574
possibilities May 18, 2020 Share May 18, 2020 I thought she was younger when taken, but I don't know why. Maybe because of the way the actress looked, and behaved? I think we are supposed to believe that by the time she was older, she was broken, demoralized, insane, and just didn't have the strength anymore to keep trying. And then eventually she did get out (she's out NOW), but it was too late in terms of sanity by the time she did it. Again, Stockholm, that little girl in Austria was actually taken skiing by her kidnapper but was too brainwashed to flee. John Potts May 19, 2020 Share May 19, 2020 Hey - no fair using a stick! But I love Kate just cooly walking into (and out of) Alice's lair. But not cool dismissing Mary s "not family". And Mary was right to point out that Kate was cutting off her mother for one sin but forgiving her sister for multiple murders. Is it common for Arms Manufacturers to be named "Humanitarian of the Year"? I was on Alice's side there on the whole edited speech (though with some reservations once she started killing people!). But how did Catherine not suspect her "husband"? If Kate was suspicious, she should have been even more so. Mouse should have played it as "Let's keep it civil in public for the Gala..." which would be reasonably plausible, rather than, "No, we're cool now!" (though I guess neither Mouse nor Alice are exactly highly socialised, so may not realise how most people act). The rich dilettante of two of Gotham's largest and most important citizens. Except Alice should know - one of her goons ended up in Mary's clinic. Granted he was doped to the eyeballs, but if Mary's regularly treating street scum, probably a number of her boys will have been there. They managed to annoy me twice. Firstly, when they woke up tied to the chairs, they took time out from escaping to bring up their personal issues when Alice was clearly up to something. Thwart now, talk later! Secondly, he was only bringing up kids now? Are people on TV incapable of having serious relationship discussions before they get married? No way does a billionaire face jail time when the evidence against him is circumstantial (the vial) - IRL and especially not in Gotham. The only eye witnesses that "saw" Daddy Kane doing anything illegal (I think?) were Sophie & Grayson, who are unlikely to testify against him.
