Sorry, guys, I am behind reading and watching, an old friend messaged about the death of a former grad school classmate and then proceeded to slag him off and reminisce in general … and I got caught up in it a bit. Loooong time ago!

I have read tons of mysteries in my life. I can’t recall the first Louise Penny much except I kinda liked it and especially in comparison to what followed! (It’s for sure a quirky setup and cast of characters in the whole series, and not long ago, the author’s husband died. It showed in the book.).But I have read so, so many bad mysteries … pretty much given up on the newer ones. Shocking what gets published these days. Most of the hyped novels too.

The Three Pines books were good in the very beginning but then they got worse and then very bad.

Oh God, that’s terrible. I broke my pelvis 3 years ago and had surgery and then a horrible nursing home (the first; my second was this past spring). Will she be going to a rehab then? I had to learn to walk again. Nothing big for me, just worried about upcoming eye doctor appointment, colonoscopy, tech problems, my mom, and the political climate. Oh and I will be 70 soon and unlike Edith Piaf but perhaps not Frank Sinatra, I have some regrets. Aging and the passage of time suck! Okay, I will stop now!

So sorry to hear about your mom! What’s wrong? And hi to all. I’ve done nothing today but be anxious.
