Had a decent J round - ran "Play Settings" and "Postal Abbreviation Combos" and got 4 in "Colorful Sports". Got the missed DD of hind. Didn't do as well in DJ as I had two categories where I only had one correct response. But I did run two categories - "Dance Revolution" and "Odds & "N"s". Didn't get either of the two TSs. Didn't get FJ - just didn't make the connection between a place of business and Christopher Park/Street, although I understood it once the correct response was revealed.

So so game to end the week. Only had two good categories - I ran "Musical Instruments" in the J round and got 4 in "Flowers" in DJ. TSs were lady's slipper, role and taken better care of himself (myself). Didn't get FJ today, although it was a head smack once Tyler's response of Bull Moose was revealed. I said pack horse with absolutely no thought that it was correct. And what a turnaround resulted from that correct response. I don't particularly care for any of the 3 finalists, but good for Tyler.

I ran the category and thought it was easy. Looking at the J! Archive I just noticed that Yungsheng ran it as well, which I don't think was mentioned on the show. Not surprising since the way the contestants bounce around the board makes it hard to keep track of when a contestant runs a category.

This race was run/filmed from June 13 to July 8 of this year. Joel and Garrett only won one leg - leg 10 in Sweden when they got good directions to the subway station and Greg and John, Rob and Corey and Steve and Anna Leigh were in a pack that kept getting misdirected and ultimately raced each other to the mat for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place (Todd and Ashlie were eliminated).

Decent game today, especially after yesterday's horrible one. In the J round I ran "It's All Relative" and "A Proverbial Mess", and got 4 in "Tennis-y Williams". TSs/missed DDs were the Freedom Trail (DD), Utah and North Carolina. Didn't do quite as well in DJ, but I got 4 in "A Matter of "Life" or "Death". But I did get all 3 TSs - the staff of life, Life Guards and Pennsylvania. FJ was pretty much an instaget. Big 4 U.S. Airlines - United, American - oh wait, Southwest. I also came up with the 4th airline - Delta - but it didn't have any impact on my answer. It probably didn't hurt that Southwest has a big presence in Chicago and I flew on them a lot while I was still traveling since they were usually cheaper than United or American. FJs this week - 3 for 4.

Today might as well have been a Jeopardy! Masters game considering how I did. I only had two good categories, both in DJ - I ran "French Connections" and got 4 in "Who's the Mrs.?". Got the missed DD of smallpox in the J round and the TS of Trisha Yearwood in DJ. And it didn’t get any better in FJ. I usually do well in musical type categories, but today I didn't have a clue and just stared at the screen. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

One of my better games - didn't realize that I did as well as I did until I looked at the J Archive. Sweet. In the J round I ran "Sounds Kinda "IFF" Y" and got 4 in "Have You 8?", "Auto Racing" and "Animals". Got the TS of tariffs - not a real TS since Henry and Julia didn't get a chance to respond since Gary was initially ruled correct. Another good round in DJ. Ran "Anaom"e" and "Sticky Stuff" and got 4 in "Yes, I've Eton". TSs were Prince William and krazy glue. FJ was an instaget- Moby Dick popped into my head immediately, which gave me too much time to talk myself out of my correct response. I briefly considered Mutiny on the Bounty, but ultimately stuck with my first response (haven't read/don't know a lot about either book). Did Ken actually use the "runaway" word today? I think I head him say it which surprised me since it seems like he tends to go out of his way not to use that word when a contestant has the win in the bag.

I believe it was a reference to the movie Wall Street's character Gordon Gekko played by Michael Douglas. Greed is good.

Meh - that pretty much sums up today's game, especially after Friday's great game. In the J round I got 4 in "Got Your Name Tag?" and "Circle Time". "The Music of Canada" was a complete disaster, and "Hydrology" wasn't much better. Did a little better in DJ. Ran "Crafts" and got 4 in "Directors' First Feature". Got 2 TSs - Clint Eastwood and (Francois) Truffaut. Good start to the week of FJs. I've never read anything by Orwell, but as I heard/read the clue, 1984 (and therefore Orwell) immediately popped into my head. Yay!

Mostly high notes to end the week. In the J round I got 4 in "Organ Recital", "We're Talking Baseball", "The Ivy League" and "Geographic Titles". TSs were Leo Durocher (I am old, so this Cub fan was around to remember him managing the Cubs in the 60s and early 70s) and diamondback. Did even better in DJ where I only missed 4 clues. I ran "Organ Recital", "Classic Movie Original Dialogue?", "Car"eer" Opportunities" and "Words from Arabic" and got 4 in "Working on a Building". Plus I got the lone TS of Riverside Church. Only downer was missing FJ. I wasn't particularly hopeful when I saw the category since I never really studied Ancient History and didn't know the spear reference. Oh well. Did anyone else pick up on what Ken said at the end of the J round? Carmela had answered the last clue in the round with (Pete) Rose in the "We're Talking Baseball" category and Ken said "I'm betting you're right". I wonder if he came up with that on his own or if someone fed that remark to him - either way it made me chuckle.

I love it when Jason brags about being an expert at something and having it "in the bag" and then has an epic fail. Schadenfreude.

Feast or famine today - I either did well in a category (4/5 correct) or horribly (1/2 correct). Blech! In the J round I ran "Fire Place" and got 4 in "On the "T"able" and "4 Your Consideration". Got the TSs of Cherokee and sprinkle. In DJ I ran "During Lou Gehring's Consecutive Game Streak" and got 4 in "It's Raining Mensa". One TS - Maggie May the force be with you. I had no idea for FJ. While I've heard of Esperanto I never would have come up with it.

Don't know the answer to this, but if it's dyed the dye wouldn't necessarily be blue. When Chicago dyes the Chicago River a bright Kelly green for St. Patrick's Day, the dye that's used is a bright orange. Well there were 6 or 7 that I counted in the first 15 minutes of last night's episode before I stopped counting, so... And then there were some "let's go dads" as well. Rob and Corey FTW.
