  1. Woo hoo!  I got FJ!  And it was an instaget!  That's my first FJ this week.

I also got the TS of coxcomb, El Capitan, roundhouse, semi, aegis, hawksbill, Sargasso Sea, Hiroshima, and James Madison.

Certainly unusual for the mistake to make it into the broadcast at any rate.

I'm not sure how they would have handled Firenze since that would not have met the requirement to be a first name as well ... maybe they would have given you a chance to give the English version?

That's what happens when I forget the category!

I watched a movie tonight, called Wicked Little Letters. A true story, apparently. Quite amusing. I must admit I had no clue who was guilty until it was revealed by the show.

I saw this movie tonight, and thought it was quite funny -- I laughed out loud quite a lot.  I suspected the guilty party from the trailers I saw beforehand, and wasn't surprised.  I liked the woman police officer a lot, too.

  4. I did not get FJ today.  My brain went to authors when I saw the category and wouldn't leave.

However, I did get the TS of harem (thank you, crossword puzzles), Mary Pickford, Powell, Madness, Grateful Dead, and The B52s.

Also, what the hell was Ken thinking accepting Venice for Florence in that category?

That was insane -- and unusual for Ken to do that.  I was briefly confused, too, since I shouted out Florence when I read the clue.  Well, I shouted out Firenze, which I would hope would have been accepted.

This is the bird they showed for Cooper’s Hawk. (actual screenshot, cropped)

Definitely a Peregrine Falcon.  Definitely NOT a Cooper's Hawk.  I knew the answer from the clue, but if I'd been on the show, looking at the photo, I wouldn't have rung in, either.  I wouldn't have known which bird was the correct response!

  6. Instaget FJ for me as well.

I also got the TS of phase/faze, ticklish, cruel summer, California Scrub Jay, and Philadelphia Vireo.

Incidentally, the bird they showed for the Cooper's Hawk was not a Cooper's Hawk.  It looked more like a Peregrine Falcon to me.

  7. Dammit!  We're under a tornado watch, and the local news/weather cut in while Saul was talking to Alberta about how he could keep jerking off and attaching to new livings forever.  I missed about the last ten minutes!

The stripper with his dinosaur facts cracked me up.

  8. I got FJ, but it was a last-second, WAG.  I did have just enough time to write it down.

I also got the TS of 1614, thank you, antemeridian, and Los Alamos.

Lee had some very interesting guesses.  And by interesting, I mean so very wrong.

Actually, they were supposed to drive across the Andes (inland) towards Argentina...and instead drove north for hours.  When they saw the Pacific Ocean on their left...they knew they were done.

I couldn't remember the exact details, just that they went horribly awry, driving in the Andes.

Debbie & Bianca.  They were supposed to go from Santiago to Argentina but made a wrong turn and headed 5 hours in the opposite direction, ending up on the Pacific coast of Chile.  This was the leg with the infamous Argentine meat roadblock.

Thank you!  And it was the third leg, not the first, as I (incorrectly) said above.
