3/5, no asterisk
I vaguely recall the existence of Monday's book, but don't think I ever read it. I certainly knew it wasn't Anne of Green Gables, though!

2/5 this week. Like @secnarf, the very American clues this week did me in. But I knew West Side Story, and somehow the play Lincoln saw.
Happy birthday @saber5055!!

1/5, and it was a total guess. 0*

The movie Joel wrote and starred in this year, Fire Island , is a (loose) Pride and Prejudice adaptation, so I was pretty tickled that the very first clue tonight was about Bridget Jones' Diary... a Pride and Prejudice adaptation. Of course he got it!

Surprisingly good week for me! 3/5 (no asterisk), and I almost got the elements, as well. I knew one of them instantly and the other came to me just a little too late. Too bad we don't do half points 😆

I was a little disappointed that Mattea lost, but I love to watch bold players, so I'm excited to see Andrew in the finals. This is going to be fun!

I said Larry McMurtrey. I was pretty sure I was wrong, but what do you want from me?
I got the missed clues of Kentaji brown Jackson, Virginia City (thanks Bonanza) and Rhone.
Not too bad for the TOC finals. They tend to be harder than an ordinary game.
Wasn't Ketanji Brown Jackson a clue very recently? I'm sure that's the only reason I got it right 😅

We certainly can't complain these celebrities are too extra. Did someone put decaf in the coffee pot? And I am felling incredibly smart tonight. Can't believe no one got Robin Hood or Wyoming. I don't know Joel but he played a good game, not that he had much competition.
I almost forgot I was watching celebrity Jeopardy, based on the demeanor and energy level of the contestants. So I felt really smart lol! It made sense when Joel said in the interview he practiced with former j players.
I wouldn't have known Joel, except I just watched his movie, Fire Island, last week!

"Dur" distracted me so much that all I could think of was Durham, which obviously was not anywhere near what they were going for. My brain couldn't make the leap to "Zur". Oh well.
I instantly said Turin, then remembered it's "Torino" in Italian (thanks Olympics!), and... had nothing else so I stuck with it.
Very exciting game with the daily doubles! I love watching that kind of bold play, so I'm glad he's moving on.

Finally caught up on Jeopardy, after getting back from vacation several days ago. I have a new bestie who thinks I'm hilarious... Hanging out with a 5 month old is great for the soul, but can also give one delusions of grandeur "Should I become a comedian?!!! All my bits are absolutely slaying in this crib." Great trip, obviously 🥰
Week 6: 2/5, one *
Week 7, much better! 4/5. No asterisk though. I had no clue on Friday. I thought I had no clue on Thursday, the American composer, and threw out a wild guess that turned out to be right. When that happens, I wonder if it was really a lucky guess, or did I know it deep within my brain somewhere 🤔

3/5 with the * this week
I'm on vacation (finally met my newest niece today!) and won't be watching until I get home next Wednesday. And it'll take a few days to catch up on a week and a half worth of recorded episodes... since it's a tournament, I don't want to just look it up. I'll post when I'm up to date 😁

I got 3/5, and the *! Good week for me. That Tuesday clue was tough, thinking of countries, and running the alphabet, with a clock ticking... not surprised none of the contestants got it, and I don't think I would have under any kind of pressure 😬

Happy birthday @ams1001!!!!
I got 3/5 this week, one asterisk.
On Monday, I said Fortune... obviously thinking of 500, not 400. Whoops! I don't think "Forbes 400" even rings a bell.

3/5 this week
As always, missed the show Friday due to football. Then didn't catch up until today due to hurricane Fiona!
My power is still out, but my apartment building has a generator, and they provide coffee, treats, Wi-Fi, and OF COURSE power outlets for charging your devices, in the common areas. Now if only I could get a hot shower... 🤣

Pretty cool the champion was on the original show.
Yes, wow! 50 years ago. Now that is something.
Finally got FJ, for the first time this week. Who knew paparazzi chased Einstein?!!! 🤯 But I thought famous pic of someone older + New Jersey, and voila, correct answer.

I'm in! I haven't played in several years because I'm always weeks (or months 😬) behind in my Jeopardy viewing, but I'm caught up now, so finally back in the game.

Vulture.com Mattea Roach interview
Interesting interview by The Vulture. She talks about the reaction to her mannerisms and chatter, plus her playing style. I liked this part:
"The reason I didn’t bounce around is I thought it would be too confusing. Especially when there are categories that have specific running themes or sequences. If you’re going back and forth and jumping in and out, it’s difficult to remember what each category is looking for. There are so many different things you have to pay attention to while playing. That was me trying to minimize errors."

Ken's "Aliens love Liza Minnelli" had me 🤣. He was definitely "on" tonight.
I also appreciated his Office Space reference.

FJ was an instaget.
I got the missed clues of Da Gama, Edict of Nantes, Heidi Chronicles, Metropolis, and I'm giving myself Ygdrisil because I'm not sure exactly what I said, but I'm going with close enough.
I had a really bad DJ round.
On an up note, I didn't see last night, because I went to trivia night with my friends and we won. Whoo-hoo!!
Congrats!
I was so relieved the other contestants got back on the board at the 11th hour... I feel so bad when someone can't play FJ! Even if you don't have a shot at winning, that experience, with the Think music, must be something else.

I just read Howard's End recently and was shocked to find out the title was the name of a house... so I got that one, but wouldn't have not that long ago!
I did get velcro, but it wasn't instant.

"From Halifax...currently lives in Toronto," per this source. A few cute tweets about her family, support for her where they're from, etc
She also mentioned that she's from Nova Scotia when she answered the clue about the Nova Scotia Duck Toller in the Dog category.

I was happy to see a contestant from Nova Scotia on the show... and then she won! Very exciting. Local social media is abuzz.

Small Talk: "I'll Take Non-Show Chat For $400, Alex."
in Jeopardy!
Sorry to hear this @zoey1996. As if this time of year wasn't stressful enough...
