  1. That's exactly what I thought, too. I'm betting she's sent quite a lot of money to quite a lot of losers. This one just wanted to take a ride on the Green Card Express before dropping her completely. Her poor kids.
  2. Oh good, it's not just me. I have thought Luke is a major creep from the get-go. I figured they'd set a wedding date, and as it get closer, he'll start showing his darker side. He'll get more demanding, controlling, and manipulative to pull Rayna way from her friends and family. I thought perhaps the mid-season cliffhanger would feature him hitting Rayna for the first (but possibly not last) time, and the second half of the season would focus on her calling off the wedding and learning that the "safe" choice can be anything but. I actually think a story like that would give the Rayna character a lot of room for growth and development. Then maybe we can see independent Rayna who doesn't have to attach herself to men.
  3. This. I'm sure Josh and the rest of the family would have found a way to blame it on birth control pills since hormonal contraceptives = abortion has been a big part of his talking points representing FRC.
  4. There are many recorded instances of Christians practicing crucifixion long after the reign of Constantine. On the History Channel website there is a clip (something like 'Look Inside Ep 204) where Michael Hirst talks about two recorded instances where Saxon monks were kidnapped by Vikings and returned as part of Viking raiding parties. One monk was recorded as being captured and crucified by the Saxons. So, while the historical accuracy for several key plot points (Rollo as Ragnar's brother, Ecbert and Aelle reigning at the same time time) are a bit "off", the crucifixion of Aethelstan rings true for the era.
