    • How did the kingdom people know who to shoot at? I mean the saviors, alexandrians, and hilltop peeps dress the same, and to some extent so to the junkyard people. Same goes for the hilltop warriors, how to they know who's an Alexandrian ect?

Exactly what I was thinking during the entire gun battle. To the point that I was actually angry at how stupid the whole thing was. How do you shoot at that group of random people over there with any confidence? Everyone is wearing the exact same black/grey apocalypse-garb. At least the Kingdom people had the decency to mark themselves out by wearing catcher's gear, athletic cups etc.

  2. After watching the finale of another (nameless) show tonight, this was like Masterpiece Theatre. All I have to say is that I KNEW Dar would end up on the same side as Our Heroes. Admittedly, I didn't predict the whole assassination plot with Quinn as the patsy, but I'll take what I can get. So much of the villainy this season just didn't ring true for Dar, especially him working with that moron O'Keefe, but I knew eventually there would be some reveal as to how Dar is, in fact, still on Team USA and hasn't gone full traitor.

The plot may be bad and full of holes, but I look forward to this show each week and this season has been quite enjoyable. Rupert Friend killed it again, too.

  3. I'm a bit surprised that there are people who actually like Debbie.. I guess all contestants have some fans, but she is pretty much constantly irritating to me. She is a thinly veiled "character," complete with wacky backstories about former careers and generally weird life experiences. As I mentioned before, she's Phillip Sheppard, except crappier, more pathetic, and far less entertaining. Coach was the first of these manufactured characters, and I love the guy, but he was pretty transparent on his first go-around. So was Debbie. "Game changer" she wasn't.

I still like Debbie. Or least don't have a problem with her.  Amazing that people hate her but not Jane who I think was soooo contemptible and gross.

What? Jane? First of all, I'm not sure why you even draw the comparison in the first place, but Jane was neither a fake attention-seeking blowhard nor was she worth even mentioning past the point of her one and only season on the show.

I think the dislike/hate here is  at least in part that shallow lazy hate for older unattractive women who don't conform to sweet mothers/grandmothers.  The fact that she occasionally blows up/acts dramatic  provides a thin justification.

I'd say its a pretty thick justification. Combine that with the near constant, totally delusional confessionals in which her interpretation of reality is decidedly 100% opposite from the rest of the players, as well as most reasonable human beings. It has nothing to do with her age or gender. Would you characterize Denise Stapely in this same way? She kicked ass, played a decent game, won her season, and did so without playing to your stereotype. And she's pretty well liked to this day.

On a less important topic, I appreciated the Brody mention. I know I am probably in the minority,  but I would like for Frannie to meet her siblings some day

I was just saying to my wife during the episode that I would be surprised if the writers hadn't considered how they might go about this.. I may be in the minority but I would love to see Morgan Saylor on this show again. She may not have had the greatest storylines to work with but I think she's a terrific actor.

True. But what if the whole over arching intel that North Korea does in fact have some sort of build up from Iran is true? Javardi hasn't assured me of squat. A cell phone picture that could be staged?   If that's the case, then all of Dar's dastardly deeds makes for a big twist, regardless of how subhuman he is this season.  Dar has always played on the dark side, we know that from the first time he was introduced on the show, so his machinations shouldn't be all that surprising.   BTW I am loving this season. I thought the first couple of episodes were dreary so glad it's picked up. The hour rushes by.

I agree, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dar turned out to be right. What would that mean for Saul though? Out of the loop yet again? At some point they need to give Saul a win, it seems like ages since he was portrayed as having any kind of upper hand.

  6. I have been enjoying this season, but didn't like the reveal that Dar has been the moustache-twirling ubervillain this whole time and is responsible for everything that has happened all because of some policy machinations. After last season's debacle I thought the show would give Saul a bit of redemption but it seems like he is still a few steps behind at this stage, though I expect that will change now that he's fully aware.

I don't like Dar as the villain because I have always enjoyed his shady but otherwise on-the-same-team persona, and especially his relationship with Quinn. Now it's revealed he's a sexual predator as well.. OK then.

Quinn continues to be the best thing about this show and Rupert Friend is one hell of an actor.

  7. This was crushingly sad.. I don't have the same issues with the finale that the majority seem to have, I found it moving and powerful. The final scene had me in tears - it's more than just a daydream, it is the very portrait of hope, which is the theme throughout. An absolute masterpiece to cap off one of the best shows of all time.

  8. I am 100% team Jay. I'll go so far as to say that his reaction to the Michaela boot is one of the greatest things I've ever seen on this show, and I've watched it since the beginning. If he never does another thing in his life he'll have that to look back on.

Oh, and I'm back to my utter disgust for Taylor. Petty thievery, selfishness,  arrogance, hubris, telling Jay not to tell Will and then telling Will, and I could go on but I don't even want to think about that self-centred little brat.

Douche, moron, simpleton. All of the above. Utter waste of a spot on what's turning into a decent season. Fingers crossed he gets medevac'd.

Not a terrible thing to have him gone IMO -- not that I wouldn't much rather see Frank go, but the show is overcrowded and could use some breathing room.

What? Carl has been the best character on the show for the past 3 seasons! I'm with you on Frank though.

  11. What exactly is wrong with Bryce Dallas Howard? I found the episode so-so (the second half somewhat justified the half hour of pure cringe that preceded it), but by far the best thing about it was her performance. She's hardly the first progeny of the Hollywood elite to find her way into good material, and so what if she was in a few Shyamalan movies? Why do people act as if this should be a permanent disqualifier for future work and/or a fair assessment of ability? I mean for fucks sakes!

... I keep thinking someone in Hollywood keeps pushing her on us, whether we like her or not.

Here's an idea: don't watch the stuff she's in if you hate her so much.

  12. Wow, that was fantastic. The result was telegraphed as soon as the editing shenanigans kicked in - they didn't show Jay or Will talking to Bret or Sunday, they showed only Hannah's vote an nobody else's, I knew Michaela would be gone. Slightly irritated that Probst didn't keep order afterwards and Michaela, as much as I liked her, didn't show much class in being outplayed. Jay went from mostly forgettable right to the top as far as interesting players go for me. He will have to really be on top of his game going forward, but I liked his move.

Really liking the Chris/Dave/Zeke/Michelle tribe, they have a great dynamic for some reason. Not much to say about the purple tribe other than that Taylor continues to be vapid, annoying, and dull in the extreme. His real life escapades are hardly surprising, I'm guessing Figgy has felt like a moron since the first episode aired. Despite what Taylor said I think Adam will be just fine.

Not sure why Bret lied or why he think cops don't do well. Philip the FBI agent made the final 3 (as a goat, but still) and Tony won the game handily. I doubt cops have done worse than other professions? He seems to have picked a fake job that he knows very little about - at least do some research man! Everyone saw right through it. I continue to like him anyway.

This is from another Sucks poster who complied the information:

I read the whole, sad thread, and from what I can tell the consensus for your three unsure / unaccounted for (along with Michaela who isn't listed) are all pre-merge. Either way, there seems to be pretty good agreement on first boot and final three which, wow. These "returnee" seasons can go either way, but I blame the producers for insisting on bringing back the likes of Brad and Troyzan in the first place. On what planet do those two make good TV? Not this one.

  14. Nothing much happened, and this might sound over the top, but that ranks among the best episodes of television I've seen in the past few years, and certainly one of the best this show has produced. I've always liked Aiden Young, even if I found Daniel frustrating at times. He is every bit as good as the rest of the cast (Clayne Crawford being the standout in my eyes), but in this episode he was a revelation. Absolutely spellbinding.

    14 hours ago, taragel said:

First of all, pretty sure that Aiden Young had more to say here (possibly in his final monologue alone) than he ever has at one time previously in the show.

And this is precisely why I think he was able to put so much into that performance. This chance to finally express some of what has been driving him this whole time. I was almost shocked to be reminded that he's only been out "a few months," given how long this show has been on, but I think that over the course of this season we will start to see him really transform a bit more.

So glad this excellent show is back.

Smatguy on Sucks, a long time poster who correctly did some spoiling in S32 is spoiling who made premerge, merge, probable winner, and who is the shocking first boot. Brace yourself for an awful season on par with All-Star S7.

    Ugh, it sounds TERRIBLE.

  16. Don't like Figgy but I legitimately can't stand Taylor. I have absolutely no clue what he's doing out there. The life that kid must live is so far removed from my little sphere of reality, even his mundane comments irritate the living shit out of me. Despite all that, I'm sure that if he and Figgy weren't a "power couple," Adam would have voted with them. They hastened their own demise with their nauseating behaviour and probably took spots away from two far better players in casting.

I still can't decide on David, he seems to change from stupid to savvy one week to the next. I'll leave it to you to guess which one next week is. Michaela kicked ass yet again, but if she's not careful she will rub someone the wrong way, that's just the way it is.

"Figtales", yuck. Pray I never have to hear that again.
