I guess '80s music is now the de facto soundtrack for sci-fi series now.
Pretty sure that was The Cure's "Just Like Heaven" being played instrumentally on the carousel scene.
Kind of weird that there are a fair amount of malls in America today that look like that one did.
Yep. The Rockabye Baby version of Just Like Heaven

On the foot massagers baths - Aren't the things are made to both have water in them and be plugged in at the same time? Wouldn't everyone who has ever used one also have been in danger?
Of course they are not made for a child to sit in and play, but i doubt Nemo was in danger of electrocution. That he was most likely playing in water after shrek soaked his gout feet or Mimi was prepping for a pedi, is a disgusting thought
It was Nurie and Nathan's feet. Nurie filmed the video and said on it that she and Nathan had been doing each other's feet and then Nehi climbed in. Still gross no matter whos feet it was. Like crawling into someone elses dirty bath water. 🤢

I wonder what Michelle is thinking about her married daughters having miscarriages. For years, she was convinced birth control pills caused her miscarriage of Caleb. I believe all of her married daughters have experienced a miscarriage or two. How does she justify her belief now?
I don't think it's changed at all. It's not contradictory. She never said miscarriages are ONLY caused from birth control pills. She can still beileve hers was caused by them, and realize that there are other reasons for miscarriages.

Bringing this over from the Lonely J's discussion.
Omigosh, you rock! I'm also sort of a London Underground geek who has finally begun to also use the buses in London. [I not only have an Oyster card, I kept a printout of how much money remains it after my last trip. Heh.]
I'm American and also have my own Oyster card that I've had since 2013. I take a screen shot of the balance in the tfl app (I had to sign up with my friends UK address) at the end of each trip. I was just in the UK in December, but didn't actually take the tube. (odd but it worked out that way - I didn't fly into London, only out of it). I started exploring on the busses when I was there in 2016 and 2018.
Apparently Oyster cards are going out of fashion now that contactless is a thing. At least that's what UK friends told me.
I really wanted to take the Elizabeth line this last time, but when I was going to the airport it was one of the days of the train strike and I was staying way out in Wembley so 2 friends and I just shared an uber to lessen our stress. It was 5am and we were overly tired and all getting sick. It was too much hassle to figure out what was running and what wasn't. I know the tubes were, but the uber just worked better.

Her outfit there is so cute and age appropriate. Of course Tim got her a dress that looks straight out of the Handmaid's Tale. He must have forgot her bonnet.
Also I can report based on some digging by someone on FJ that the pillow next to her on the arm of the couch says "Hug this pillow until you can hug me". So definitely from Tim.

Tim once misspelled Holy as "Holly". If they can't even get that right, there's no hope for any of them.

Ellen has reacted now, with a heart.
Jill updated the post to add her usual options. So it's definitely not Nurie, and I'm glad Jill is finally leaving herself out of the pregnancy speculation. She also updated the picture to their whole family Christmas photo.
QuoteOur family has some *VERY EXCITING NEWS*! We will be announcing it Sunday night at 9pm! Please tune in to see what it is! What is YOUR guess?!
1. Timothy in a courtship.
2. Renee in a courtship.
3. Kaylee expecting twins.
4. Philip in a courtship.
Which one do you guess? Good luck!

So why is she homeschooling if she doesn't think she can do a good job with it?
If I knew my knowledge isn't enough to educate my children, I would put their needs first and get them to school.
Giving your children a chance in education is more important than having them around 24/7 so you what.... don't get bored or have any obligations?
That's the difference between you and the fundies. They homeschool because they don't want the "evil public schools" having influence on their children.
The point in fundies homeschooling is control, not education. They don't place any value on a good education. I think that's long been true of many religions. Mistrust of the educated.
They think knowledge of the bible is all the education you need, but will do the bare minimum to pass state/local requirements, even if they don't agree with them.
As for Jill, I go back and forth on what I think she's doing this year. We know when Sam was a baby she had a hard time adjusting to life with two kids. Now that she has an infant again, she might have decided getting the kids to school was too much for her. Especially with having just moved. But who knows. I at least hope that if she is indeed homeschooling this year, that maybe next year when Freddie is a little older, Izzy and Sam will go back to school.

He was cited for speeding (misdemeanor) on 1/29. He already paid the fine, so maybe that's why you're not seeing it. I am looking at the county records, and it is there, noted as closed.
Yes, I have that one listed. I meant prior to the recent offence, he hadn't been cited in a year. Your original post asked if he'd had 4 speeding tickets in the last year. I was just listing them out. Until the recent ticket this year, he hadn't had any since Jan 2022. His tickets are more spaced out than it seems like, because he gets so many! I had thought they were more recent. Phillip has now taken to getting frequent tickets. This family certainly doesn't take road safety seriously.

Oh good gracious, Timcel got ANOTHER speeding ticket. This one was last Sunday on the way home from church. I don't have the numbers, but this is something like four speeding tickets in the past year or so.
No, he hasn't had a ticket of any kind in over a year*.
His last speeding ticket was in August of 2020. He has had three other citations between now and then though. Here's the full list.
Sep 2019 - passing on the right
Aug 2020 - speeding (72 in 55)
July 2021 - no seatblet
Nov 2021 - fell asleep at the wheel and hit a small trailer that was being towed by another vehichle, went off the road and crashed into a fence
Jan 2022 - fender bender after following too closely
Jan 2023 - speeding (73 in 55)
*that we know of. The 2019 one was in Wisconsin and the rest are in his county in Ohio. It's possible he's had other instances in other counties or states.

Here is Renee's Poem
QuoteBy Our Darling Renee.... This is beautiful, sweetheart! You bless our hearts SO much! Hugs, Daddy & Mama
"I'd Rather be a Princess"
I'd rather be a woman of true and priceless worth, than follow after vanity in search of empty mirth.
I'd rather be a servant to the holy Lord of all, than to fill my name with glory; in hopes I might enthrall.
I'd rather be a pauper who to give would be my aim, than to say I own a castle filled with riches to my name.
I'd rather be a follower of Jesus Christ my Lord, than strive to gain acceptance in this lost and dying world.
I'd rather be a Virgin; to her Master she obeys, than to search for empty love that, with time, is thrown away.
I'd rather be a child with the innocence of mind, than to know the sin that lingers; hoping mischief I might find.
I'd rather be a keeper of the things that God deems best, than to strive for worldy wisdom; never gaining peaceful rest.
You ask me where my worth is, who I serve, what's my name, and no matter where life takes me, my answer will remain.
I'm a servant of the Master, I'm a daughter of the King, I'm a follower of Jesus Christ no matter what life brings.
I will serve Him in the hard times, I'll go on thru disarray, and although this world may darken, it's my Lord I will obey.
You see, it isn't vanity or glory to my name, nor is it a castle filled with goods for me to claim.
It isn't the acceptance of others passing by; neither is it fading love to which I will comply.
I won't strive to hear the answer to a secret of deceit, and my knowledge won't determine if I've reached the highest peak.
Now to all of those who wonder what my life is truly worth, I can answer with deep honor and proclaim to all the earth.
I've been rescued by a Saviour, a Redeemer and a Friend, and I'll follow in His footsteps until the very end.
So no matter what the future holds or what this life may bring, I'd rather be a Princess; I'm a daughter of the KING!!!

Agreed the cat house was not worthy of ugliest. I think the owners just want a free reno. Also agree the chosen house will never win because in order to really make it better you have to knock it all down and start over and that's not happening.

Where did people see this? I've enlarged the picture as big as I could get it, and could barely make out any writing at all, much less specifically names. Maybe I couldn't get it big enough.
I love the name Daisy.
It took me a while to realize it's on the piece of tape on the back of the pew, not on a present.

It's a riff on the campaign of Jeb Bush, whose signs simply read Jeb! Jed! is just one letter off. 😀
Yep, that's where I got the inspiration, and it was especially relevant since Jed! was um, also "looking for a public job" in the same fashion as Jeb Bush at the time.

How did they afford a house already? They were going to be living in that hideous basement (maybe the sweet couple he was renting from saw Jill's "renovations" and kicked him out.) I thought. Isn't Phillip his boss? Phillip who is now in school.
I don't think the basement was ever intended for Kaylee. It was temporary accomodations for Jonathan after he moved to Ohio from Mississippi so he could have someplace cheap (free?) to stay while he worked and saved his money for a house, by the time he married Kaylee.

Olivia is in all of the big family group photos.
She got the nickname Angry Olivia because she always looked over it in her earlier years. This photo in particular (girl in the polka dot dress).
She just doesn't get a lot of individual posts, and when Jill takes out smaller groups, she often seems left out or not mentioned.

It they are going to continue with the cash and carry sales, the least they could do is get some folding tables from Walmart or Sam's club to put those bins on and make it easier for people to rummage through them at a nicer height.

Sofia is small, but I think her smallness is amplified because Sadie is very tall.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
in Counting On
Sure, why not? I have a patterened area rug in my living room that goes over the boring tan carpet (i rent the hosue so I can't change the carpet). It breaks up the room and adds character. I've seen lots of people do that.
