Sweetened cereal was restricted to Saturday mornings in my house growing up. It was considered a weekend treat for us to watch during Saturday morning cartoons. Occasionally I have a nostalgic craving for Froot Loops. But I usually have unsweetened oatmeal for breakfast.

If Chris Powell were the advisor on this show instead of Dr. Now, LB would have been competing in a triathlon. When I saw him cycling, it was one of the most motivating things I'd ever seen on My 600-Pound Life. When the typical "feel-good ending" is someone being able to fit into the front seat of a car, you know your expectations are low. I hope LB continues to do well.

My father lost a leg due to diabetes. He was counseled against gaining or losing weight, because fluctuations would make his prosthesis not fit properly. I wonder how this guy will fare.

Butter tarts, for those who are not fortunate enough to have tasted them, are basically pecan tarts without the pecans, but with yummy raisins. Another Quebec fave is Pouding Chomeur, which translates literally to Unemployment Pudding, but the more PC version is Poor Man's Cake. It's a self-saucing cake with caramel sauce.
