  1. Cameron was talking about football with Jared, about how far Texas college football players have to travel for games. He said that his father coached at Ole Miss, which I couldn't verify (might not have been a head coach). Cameron, Jared, and Blue (I think) were talking about people watching the live feeds, and we went to the colonoscopy. The three of them were talking about doing other shows later, The Challenge, The Amazing Race, and I just can't believe the people who spend their whole lives becoming reality stars. No wonder these shows kind of suck.
  2. Yeah, I could have phrased that better!
  3. Pittsburgh lady - oh my gosh. I'm so impressed with someone who can save $425k! I could understand needing a place to recharge away from the noise of her apartment renters - it's 1:16 am and MY apartment neighbors are blaring music and being very loud. I really thought she might go for house 2 near the city, I noticed right away that you couldn't hear the street noise. For house 3 I liked that she didn't care so much about curb appeal (other than commenting that the house was turned around on its lot) - it was refreshing not to hear someone going on about how their friends and family would be so impressed. And that although she didn't like the gray of the bathroom, it all matched so she could probably live with it for a while. That lower level with the extra kitchen would make a great party room as well as room for people to stay. In the Gilbert AZ episode I learned that Craftsman houses have "masculine features." And how annoying it can be to hear someone go on and on about "flair." I thought that the wife was pretty enthusiastic about the houses that didn't match what she wanted, which led me to believe that she got house 2, the one she DID want. Location is the thing you can't change, and downtown Gilbert was where they both really wanted to be. When the husband said that they'd spent all of their youth working hard in grad school (and for such great careers) I had to agree that they deserved to have a fun place to spend at least a few years in. I always think, when people talk about buying a house where they can have all their kids grow up, that especially if it's a growing area, you just don't know what it will be like by the time you have school-age kids. I know it doesn't make financial sense to PLAN to buy a house for the short term, but it also seems chancy to assume that a house you buy will still be where you want to raise kids in maybe 10 years.
  4. It will probably take me most of the season (even if she goes) to not think that a person talking to America is talking to us viewers.
  5. Charlotte: This was a little strange to me. Usually I'm all "the person being dragged for the move gets everything they want," but as someone upthread noted, does this guy even have a real job? All he talked about was how long it took him to make his man room. And they started out with them doing laundry and him saying he didn't remember having so many clothes to take care of 5 years ago. So they have a 5-year-old and he's never done the laundry, right. He also said that it would be fun to sit in one room and see the girls out in the pool outside while the adults had drinks. So also not really used to watching small children. I didn't care what they bought. Wilmington: I figured she'd bought the first one because it looked to me, from the size of the basement window, that there might be a substantial basement and yet they didn't look at it. Maybe she had already moved stuff there. Moving the kitchen sounded wacky. Coming from CA, I would never choose a place where you have to park on the street, so #3 was it for me. Another pet peeve of mine is bathrooms, even half baths, right off kitchens. I know with older homes you're lucky to get an extra bathroom wherever they could fit one in, but it creeps me out.
  6. Yes, I was worried about the steep stairs going up to the apartment.
  7. I didn't realize that the realtors were known to us. Very cool.
  8. Okay, I need the snarky Rotterdam realtor to be on all the shows. She was great. I feel a little bad for poor Chop Chop not getting to use that rooftop terrace AND having to climb those steep stairs. I know that Perth Guy probably never saw House 3 before he signed a lease, but I would've taken that one and just used the small bedroom when my parents came to visit.
  9. Luke and Corey in the hammock, Luke is again (still?) complaining about Reilly's condescending "how to play the game" advice to him. Luke calls the others stupid, ham-fisted, not good at acting, not good at pretending to be interested, they're sad, Reilly's on an ego trip, but he's not playing emotionally. Cameron came over to insert himself into the conversation and brag about how he reset the house. Someone announced the time and I noticed the camera time is behind by 6 minutes; was that always a thing?
  10. I'm guessing it would violate some ban on human experimentation, but it would be great if the houseguests had chips implanted that reacted with tv cameras to show me their names. I would also shell out for special glasses to see the names if that works out better. Call me, BB producers!
  11. I didn't even watch this til I knew that Tarsha and Kristy went home. They should have been gone already. I wondered if, like Joel with his cinnamon rolls, Dwight would pick something more well known - I thought it was ice cream right away. The money and the list on the refrigerator were interesting clues.
  12. Well, that took me aback!
  13. I saw a circus performer moving to Puerta Vallarta. What a gorgeous place. I really liked the realtor, how he spoke about the buyer's grandmother giving him his dream. Usually I'm all for people spending less, but it seemed to me like the buyer was being penny wise and pound foolish by thinking he could pay extra for a place to do his massage therapy instead of paying more for an apartment where he could do it right there. The 2nd apartment seemed like the better location, but if I were his customer I wouldn't want to be on that public area patio. And who knows if people are even allowed to do business there?
  14. I forgot to mention the coughing! Where I am in northern California, covid is rising. I worry about those folks.
  15. Get out! even though I was looking at the yard? Thank you, I'll edit my post.
  16. I'm looking at the yard camera where I can hear people talking softly but I can't see them (thanks to kassandra8286 I found out it's Reilly and Jag I'm hearing, even though they're inside). Jag just mentioned that Kirsten will be loyal to whoever saves her, and Reilly said "we can't do that. Are you suicidal?" and that she would go home next week if they did that. She wants Izzy or Luke to go home next week. Reilly's hoping for something big to happen next week; she says that "if we let Izzy stay in this house any longer, she is going to create an army."
  17. Jag and Reilly conversation: Jag: It's just like .... like ..... (long pause) Reilly: RIGHT?? Cory and I think Luke?? are talking about having roommates. Cory talked about how his first year in college was a Covid year and now I have to go yell at some kids to get off my lawn.
  18. I'm nosy, so I googled. Justice has an Etsy shop and he says he's married and living in Spain. Ryan has LinkedIn that still says Bellevue, but maybe he doesn't update it or wants customers to think he's in the US for some reason. Yeah, I was a bit bemused throughout this episode. Justice probably didn't contribute much of that sale price with his job as a caregiver and his NO JOB now. Not that he doesn't still get choices, but the way he kept saying "we can make it work" was offputting for me. And even for that expensive second house, he was talking about making changes that would cost more money. Ryan said that they went to Hawaii (I read: he took Justice to Hawaii) like the first day they met. They're definitely in a dynamic where he pays for everything. That was a beautiful location that I'd never heard of.
  19. I saw the Oklahoma to Gloucestershire move. I think they picked the right house although I agree about the suddenness of "we need money to travel!" and I also thought that the wife wanted things that were kind of contradictory - a lot of houses right around her, yet pubs and cafes walking distance away. Having things walking distance away is important, especially if she wasn't confident driving in England yet. My sister and her family lived in England for 2 years; my brother-in-law just took the train in to London and my sister was the one doing all the driving. It's mentally wearing. On their first weekend, my two young nephews were running around Stonehenge yelling "Is this where the Flintstones lived?" Damaging Anglo-American relations on practically their first day!
  20. I just saw the family moving from Washington state to Florida. I think they picked the right home for them. It was funny, the wife kept talking about the boys being able to meet new friends, but it wasn't until the end that she said that they hadn't been able to do that at all in Washington. I was thinking that the third house would be a home that other kids would congregate in, because of the empty lot, and I was glad to hear that she wanted that, too. I have friends who wanted to be the home in their neighborhood where everyone came. Oh and now I know there's a thing called an aesthetic nurse practitioner, to provide cosmetic procedures to patients.
  21. All cameras switched to Reilly and her constant "likes," I can't stand listening to her.
  22. I don't recognize people yet, and the camera switched away, but the NZ woman and the red bearded guy and two women were talking about putting clothes away, whether you could hang up clothes, and someone pointed out that you couldn't even try to hang things up on lamps or anything because they were so cheap and put up so badly -- poor BB production!
  23. I don't know if you're in CA like I am, but that drives me crazy in reality shows or regular shows. I'm so used to turning faucets off. WE'RE IN A DESERT, PEOPLE!
  24. I saw the Michigan show today. I think they did a good job compromising. I liked them both; they made me laugh. The two that just had decks looking out at everyone else's decks kind of gave me the willies, though. The vintage house was beautiful but boy that would be a lot of work to fix up.
