I shed a tear for the poor feral dog that had to be euthanized.  I'm sure they gave her the only love she had had her whole life.

Everyone was so genuinely upset about having to euthanize her. These are such caring people. (So was the man who was feeding them, even though it was likely he couldn't really afford it.)

But jeez -- "hours" spent catching two dogs? The feral problem is so overwhelming and daunting. Five street dogs for every person? Oy. Jeff said their work had made a noticeable difference in the town they've been going to for years, so there is some hope.

Geometry isn't my thing and I don't know how I would have cut it differently, but that cardboard cone was more of a pipe! Heh.

I don't recall ever seeing Anna Paquin in anything since the Piano and I'm not impressed with her in this. When she's on I'm so distracted by the dirty hair and the dull delivery of her lines.

Her "acting" has pretty much ruined the show for me. I agree that her hair bugs, but how her character is styled probably wasn't her decision so I grudgingly give her a pass.

  3. I insert a Ned Flanders' "diddly" into way too many sentences in conversation with way too many people who have no idea why.

I also go with, "It's always the one you least suspect" whenever I pull off a prank.

And Sasha, that I expected to be a fierce contestant/outshine the queens from the beginning, is falling in the middle (her eyebrows are the only thing that made me go: oh look, thats her!).

Is she intending to style her eyebrows like that all the time? I liked it last week but it's not gonna hold up for every look and challenge.

  5. I've really enjoyed the couple of remote pieces I've seen from Seth, like day drinking with Retta. He should do more of those.

It also occurred to me that he never does viewer interaction bits like reading tweets or small town news items. Maybe I'm alone in having liked those segments when Letterman, Carson and Leno did them. I think it would be good for Seth to break free of his Weekend Update box and branch out once in a while.

  6. Amy's net Netflix stand-up special is getting "overwhelmingly negative" user reviews. IMDB currently has it at 3.1 out of 10 stars.

"Decider reviewed all 876 member reviews of the special that are currently posted on Netflix.com, and the results are pretty grim: 33 subscribers gave it 5 stars, 17 gave it 4 stars, 22 gave it 3 three stars, 85 gave it 2 stars, 710 users give it 1 star, and 9 gave it zero stars. That makes the average rating for The Leather Special 1.35 stars."

OK, it's one thing to ignore potential crimes, but to actually help out with one?  Please tell me he at lest asked to see your DL first and the registration before he let you drive away.  Although, since it was your stepdad, I'm assuming different last names, but maybe probably same address.

I guess the cop asked for identification? I don't remember but as you say, I had a different last name.

Re-reading my post makes it sound like I only took the car once when actually my sister and I stole it on a regular basis. When my folks went out they always took mom's car because his was ... a restored 1940s era Cadillac. Oy.

To try to drag this back on topic, I'll say that TV me would have crashed the car and been grounded for life instead of getting away with it. TV teens always get caught (either after many Ferris Bueller type shenanigans in a sitcom, or accidentally killing someone in a gritty drama).

I myself wouldn't know whether to be relieved that the cop ignored someone who was apparently breaking and entering or upset that he was ignored someone who was apparently breaking and entering.

As a teenager, I once took my stepdad's car without permission and went shopping. I lost the keys in the store but was able to talk a passing patrol cop into hot wiring it for me. Guess I had an honest face?

Made it home before stepdad and the store called the next day with the keys. Sneaky teen success!

I think Deann hired Annika to break Megan and Nick up without Terence's knowledge

That was my takeaway as well. Deann hired Annika to seduce Nick so that Megan would break up with him. Deann paid Annika by setting her up with an agent and possible acting roles.

For whatever reason, Terence has always been against Megan getting together with Kyle, so Deann made her deal with Annika behind his back.

Annika later got pissed because she didn't get the promised career boost, so now she's turning the screws on Deann by hooking up with Terence, who (as far as we know) is still unaware of Deann's deal with Annika.

Basically, Annika and Megan are both willing to deceive and sex it up in order to further their careers. I think the show wants me to believe that Megan's intentions are pure while Annika's are not, but I'm not buying it.

Add me to the list who believes that Frankie isn't going anywhere.  No one is more enmeshed with their family (and their best friend's family, which is also now her ex-husband's family) than Frankie. In fact, it really all sort of seems like a false build-up to me.

I understand the dramatic possibilities inherent in Frankie leaving -- and having her and Grace grapple with the emotional aspects is an interesting storyline -- but come on. Maybe Kelly & [fill in the co-host] can get away with it, but this shows needs both of its named stars. I just hope the writers don't take the chickenshit way out and have Jacob die. I'd also prefer not to see Frankie leave and after a week, sitcommily realize she misses everyone and come right back.

She was hired for whatever reason to apparently give blowjobs as part of her therapy session.

I took that scene as prearranged sex play between them and didn't think she was really a therapist? It'll be fun to find out her story, anyway. The safe bet is that she was disappeared because she posed some kind of threat to Kyle's image.

The only way I keep Annika's shit straight is because I automatically substitute "Nazanin Boniadi" for her in my head. Heh. Spoiler tagged to spare those bored/irritated by Scientology references.

    Spoiler

Nazanin was a Scientologist recruited by the cult to be Tom Cruise's girlfriend, pre Katie. The cult facilitated Nazanin's breakup with her then-boyfriend by showing her his confidential auditing files wherein he admitted to cheating on her. Tom and Nazanin were hot and heavy for a couple of months before he had Scientology operatives move her out of his house while he was away. All speculative, of course! Allegedly!
