And we can have Nora Fowler back on our screen.

Don't be silly -- there's only room for one woman at a time (and at the lowest level on the totem pole) in this boy's club!

Occam's Razor. The whole thing was too rushed for one episode and not even good writing. It was just too simplistic and a cheap attempt to end with a "thrilling" feeling.

I guess.  It's just that the ending made the nurse so eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil for no good reason and Danny's beliefs were straight out of the "schizophrenic playbook".

Either way, it doesn't fit with the other episodes.  If they were planning on having each episode be different in style and content, they should have done something different before this.

Keith is adopted (as is Sidney). They did use it as a reason in the pilot.

tganks -- I forgot about that.  But if they know either of Keith's birth parents, they could still do the test.

  4. I have two words: Unreliable Narrator.  I think that Danny was and is schizophrenic and everything (which we need to see from his point-of-view) must be seen through that lens.  I know someone who is schizophrenic and what Danny thought was going on was almost certainly not the truth.

I believe that the last scene only happened in his mind.  Dad and Matthew are just fine.

Why?  Because the only two things that we know for sure is that an independent court-ordered psychiatrist deemed that Danny was not competent enough to stand trial, and that Dad remarried very quickly.  (The second doesn't count because that happens a lot where neither spouse is evil.

    Not necessarily...

I'm not so sure we were meant to believe the nurse was actually evil.  My impression was that we were seeing everything from Danny's point of view, so we weren't necessarily getting an accurate presentation of what the nurse said/how she acted but how Danny saw it all.  I think that the show meant to leave the question open as to whether he was actually crazy or not.  If that was the point, I'm not so sure they did a great job of making that clear.  But I could be wrong and we were supposed to believe Danny and that she was evil.

I think you're right, but they obviously didn't push the idea of Unreliable Narrator hard enough.

  5. This show is so stupid, with stupid people doing stupid things.. even the hair twist was stupid -- did Fake Keith have a sample of his own baby hair or is the lab so stupid that they can't tell baby hair from adult hair. (If they wanted a non-hackable test, get DNA from Mom and Dad and compare to DNA from maybe Keith  Nope, too dumb to think of that.  I have to watch with my brain turned off.

Jason would've shot him without a second thought and never considered the ramifications of that on different levels. But they never went there with any of the storyline.

Any "officer involved" shooting goes to some kind of review, and the superior can't just say "never mind", especially in a low-level department like Missing Persons.

Him breeding the women who represent the companies of the families who did it was interesting.

Stupidity again.  They ran the DNA of the babies to find the mothers, but see that the babies all had the same father, much less see that it was the baby-factory guy?

Decided I would look at these comments before I watched number 3. I was hoping that maybe it was a bit better, but sounds like it got worse. And them shooting into a car again! That was dumb in the first episode, ugh. I'm out on this one, going to keep binge watching a real missing persons show, Without a Trace.

There's another show called Found coming this fall to NBC (from What to Know About Found:

    Quote

The premise of Found is chilling, shining a spotlight on the harrowing statistic that in any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. Of these reported cases, more than half of the missing people are people of color, too easily neglected by the system. Shanola Hampton stars as Gabi Mosely, a former missing person herself, who now specializes in PR and leads a crisis management team that seeks out these missing people

Personally, I think the tasting menu is pretty cool.  There is a lost art of conversation, etc. at table so it seems like an eternity between courses, when in reality, if one is actually enjoying the company of one’s dinner guests, it’s all in aid of a great experience.

    Sandy: "Starter, entree, dessert"
Me: that's a standard meal, not a tasting menu.  A tasting menu is 7 or more small bites.  Dumbass.

Rachel gets flak for not cranking out the food fast enough?  If they guests really had to eat a lot and often, or at least the pregnant one did, why not just stay on board and keep asking for in-between meal snacks or mini meals?

When Sandy started to go after Rachel, I was like :Hell, no.  You leave my girl alone.

Seems like she's dropped the stereotypical chef "tortured genius' rol and just likes to let her talent shine.

But she is "fueled by caffeine and hate" though.  (I love Rachael sooooo much!)

Instead of coming down on Rachel and instead of requesting a deck stew, why doesn’t Sandy ask Rachel what kind of help she needs? Perhaps she could get a sous chef or assistant. The woman is cooking for these assholes all day, it doesn’t seem like a reach to get her some help.

At the start of this season, Rachal said that the kitchen and pantry are now on two separate floors.  Having someone fetch and carry for her seems like a good idea.

More and more I see Alissa as a big part of the problem. When they were getting ready to go out and Camille asked if she had an eyeliner sharpener, Alissa leaned into her ear and whispered "I hate you."

[Camille]'s probably a nicer person than Alissa.

Camille barged into the (tiny) cabin of someone she supposedly loathes and asked for a sharpener. (I don't have the episode anymore, but I wouldn't be surprised if she demanded it.)  "I hate you" is mild compared to what I'd say to that ass-clown.

Alissa gets along with everyone except the whiny, lazy fool she's forced to deal with.  She even made sure that the ass-wipe guests were accommodated.  Her "7 star meal" comment to Rachel was a sarcastic echo of what one of the guests said.

But Camille is the better person?  Oooookaaaaay...

Alissa is lucky too because had Camille been a good worker, the decision could have gone the other way.

Hayley is a good worker and Alissa's subordinate.  So, yeah, it definitely would have gone the other way.

Alissa is working incredibly long hours, doing not just her job and Camille's but having to fix all the things that Camille gets wrong.  She doesn't hate Camille because she's jealous (really??? Aliisa knows that she's fine than that slag-hound.) -- she hates her because she's overworked while Camille goofs off.

As much as I appreciate that this show is about Bode, the fire camp is what makes this show stand out. They need to work the camp into the stories better instead of making them glorified extras.

I will keep watching ad hoping that some writers decide to go all in with the background of the inmates. They hinted a little here and there, then dropped it all

Freddy, in particular, is way underused.  I'd like to see more of him and a LOT less of Broody Bode,  The could take a hint from Brooklyn 9-9.  There was no doubt that Samberg and Braugher were the stars, but even Scully and Hitchcock got plots of their own.

Also, anytime some is nearly out of a dangerous job, something bad is going to happen to them.  It would have been better to make it look like it was Charlie under the engine, only to find out it was someone else.

Pro tip, guys - Don't start a fire in flammable liquid inside a structure.  What could possibly go wrong?

Firefighters still standing around, waiting for something to do, while the engine crushes Charlie's leg.

When we did "fire training" for the company I worked for, the fire was in a small patch surrounded by non-flammable material.  Not on a rickety-ass table in an area that the hoses couldn't get to.

Speaking of that, why did they have to cut away the whole grate.  4 snips and they had a hole big enough for the hose.

  12. re the baptism:  Hondo is right because Hondo is always right.  If Nichelle wanted the baptism instead of him, there would bve no baptism.

Nichelle needs to clearly state what will be acceptable for their child and what won't.  Baptism falls somewhat into the mostly "does no harm" category, but other, harder choices are coming, and they need to figure out the rules before they spring up.

  13. Of the possible fathers and Javier, only Jai (Shawn) has a birthdate that I could find -- he's 43.  Alexa is 27, but they're probably having her play at least 5 years younger.  I thought the age gap was too small for any of them to be her dad.  But this is Fantasy Island, so chalk it up to "Island Magic" -- the deus ex machina they'll use for any scripting problem they encounter.

  14. No comment on the REO Speedwagon dis?  I wonder if Freddie has Loverboy, Supertramp, Foreigner and other bands of that era on his mixtape?

I didn't like this episode. I thought the cat lady subplot was dumb and I didn't like the idea that Erica and Tara had to end their friendship. If they were married nobody would suggest a divorce. I thought it would have been better to have them realize that they need to be honest with each other and do different things but still be friends.

I thought that was weird and not good, too.  "Hey, let's end 30+ years of friendship because we're too supportive of each other!  Yay!"

After spending nearly 8 hours on this show, the viewers don’t deserve that kind of half-baked, wishy-washy cliffhanger. Why do we have to wait for a year or two to know what happens? Just wrap up your season arc properly.

So we wasted almost 8 hours for THAT ending.  So much for the whole premise.  Blergh.

100% Will be interesting to see if Alissa now targets the redhead/Fraser in an effort to make herself look better. I mean, who is going to be up at 2am stocking the fridge?.

Same person who's doing it now -- Allissa.  She's been busy doing all of Camille's work as well as her own; now she doesn't have to spend time monitoring and correcting the lazeabout.  But if she gets overwhelmed with having to do her chores and Camille's, as well as needing Frazier to step up, if she cries at all, she gets criticized.

Alissa, is a horrible boss, and shows no respect for anyone.  I don't see her doing much, except micro-managing everyone else.  We need to see more of he red-head girl, which I don't know her name due to her not getting much screen time

On the contrary, she's respectful of Frazier and Hawley -- neither of them have a problem with her.

It seems like, once they get to the first task, the order of finish is just about set most legs this time.

Not necessarily.  The choice of which partner does the Roadblock (like Molly at the motorcycles) and, more so, which Detour is chosen, cam have a big impact.  The "Nut-Smashing" option was pretty linear. but the crushing the "Medieval Games" scooted Derek and Claire to the front of the pack.

It's a very fun group this time and I wouldn't mind any of them winning.
