And we’ve already seen how Spurg can regurgitate bible passages and hymns, and Henry seems to spout answers to addition and subtraction questions, so rewriting passages over and overfits right in.

I would find this preferable to the indoctrination of present-day government schools in the US. But, that's just me. Lock-Step On!

I am just now reliving the drama of the Alaska trip (yes, I am bored enough for reruns). It occurs to me to ask, when Buddy-Boo-Bear flew off to join the gang at the Alaska lodge, who was looking after Whitney's cats? She never mentions any concern about whether her "beloved" animals are getting fed and medicated while she, and Buddy, are away.

Again, I am wondering about this.

If they are still tiptoeing around her feelings when she's in her 20s, they've been spoiling her all through her life.  Their feet (all 10 of them) should have been put down years ago in making her understand that - especially in such a huge family - they don't all live by her rules.  Not even on "HER DAY."

And if she wanted to be married outside, that's an okay request.  But to insist on it in Utah in December with NO "Plan B" in case of bad weather . . . I almost admired Kody when he stood up and said, "This is a bad decision" . . . but she played the "It's MY decision" card with no concern for currently or about-to-become sick people.  Her response when told that people didn't want to go outside for pictures was "Suck it up."  I spent 10 seconds on Google and found out that the average HIGH temperature for St. George in December is 52.  They should have known the week before that the forecast for "HER DAY" was less than ideal.  But it was "HER DAY" and she was going to get married outside.  It looked pretty obvious that at least half of the people who attended the wedding stayed inside for the ceremony.  So at least half of the invitees had more sense than she did.

ETA:  I'm really curious as to whether the invitations included the "outdoor event" warning so people would know to wear warm . . . rather than dressy . . . clothes.

Did I actually see Caleb at the ceremony (or at least at the venue) in his traditional hunting-camo-and-cap? Could be he had more sense than the rest of the fambly.

On a different note, (binge-watching this and other cringeworthy TLC shows lately), Caleb's remarks while waiting to unload his truck and trailer in the cul-de-sac were priceless. "Pregnant wife. Moving into my inlaws house. Best day of my life!" had me rolling on the floor. I can only imagine what Kody's reaction to that would have been.

Oh, I stopped expecting the Browns to back up anything they said years ago.  I don’t particularly care for Mariah, that whole sitting in the middle of the road staring at that Vegas house kind of sealed the deal or was it Westminster? With that said, Maddie isn’t far behind with her shills of Plexus although she most likely doesn’t have Janelle helping foot any bills.  I really don’t mind shills except for things I personally don’t think are healthy or anything I feel are mlm crap.  That’s just my personal opinion, but if people want to buy 40 dollar Rice Krispie treats or a used luluslop outfit Meri wore during an awkward family meeting, I shrug at the stupidity, but couldn’t care less.  Most of IG is people pontificating and doing nothing, which Mariah seems to fit into, but then she seems to get mad at her followers for basically doing the same thing.  Oh well, I guess that avocado toast isn’t going to eat itself.  FWIW, most of the elder Browns use of SM bothers me a lot more than Mariah’s  because I feel like theirs are almost always one big shill.

"I shrug at the stupidity, but couldn't care less". I just might take that as a personal motto.

I had to look up LGBTQ2S because I wasn't familiar with the "2S" part. I also found this, from the UK: LGBTQQIP2SAA

At a certain point, they're going to have to abbreviate the acronym.

Agreed. I suggest they drop this whole bucket full of foolishness. But, I ain't "woke" (for which I am grateful to God!).

I don't like "stolen". How about, "Skillfully acquired"?

They would have to run sewer lines (if those are even available out there) along with running power and cable, creating driveways, drilling wells. The mind boggles.

ETA Also, the lots would likely have to be graded. The presence of the ditch suggests water is running down from somewhere, which may affect the placement of a dwelling. This is just such a large engineering project in all respects.

And don't forget, Kody mentioned wanting to build SEVEN houses...ALL AT ONCE.

That's absolutely Matt Rolloff- worthy in scope. And insanity.

Well my translation of what she wrote is the following:

    • She believes she’s a writer.
    • She believes that Black Lives also matter.
    • Whichever state she is living in, she believes it to be land stolen from Native American tribes: Goshute and Eastern Shoshone
    • She doesn’t define herself with the pronoun “she” or “her”, but prefers to be called “they” or “them”.
    • She believes in that human needs and values are more important than say religious beliefs on judging what is good.  The welfare of humans is the top priority.
    • She believes she is not only a student of life, but also in school, presumably.  I guess when she wrote this it was Loyola University Chicago
    • She believes she is a registered yoga teacher.

I understood the words, I just don’t think they all actually apply to Mariah.

And I believe she's a total whack job and spawn-of-a-douche.

I don't understand these reality stars, why on earth do they feel that we need to see piles of dirty laundry. Or dirty dishes. Or photos of teddy bears/dolls on a bed. Seriously. Are their lives so dull and boring that's the only thing they can think of sharing. Or are they just brain dead. She is not relatable, she is not interesting, and most importantly , she is not hygienic. Lol

Well, it looks a lot like my rather pathetic excuse for a life (in some eyes). She's relatable to me, in this regard.

Jer and Auj don't approve of Amy marrying anyone but Matt so perhaps they won't attend.

Well, I'm of the generation that sees divorce as something NOT to be proud of. Second marriages don't warrant the white-gown-down-the-church-aisle treatment where I'm from. A quiet, discreet JOP ceremony is more in keeping. So, if the  Golden Children don't want to honor their mother with their presences, fine. Although I find it intriguing that such "enlightened" and "tolerant" beings would have a problem with seeing any sort of union, no matter how bizarre or unorthodox it might be.

And start near the outlet and vacuum (or mow) away from it so the cord lies on the vacuumed/mowed area.  I think Maddie posted a pic of Caleb vacuuming over the cord too.  Common sense ain't too common in this fambly.

Wow. Now this is getting really nit-picky. The kid's trying to help out - Halleluiah!

Audrey has extremely short hair that looks like either an undercut or like they took clippers to the bottom, and she's wearing a shirt/button down combo that looks almost identical to most of my wardrobe. It's very possible Audrey doesn't specifically identify as butch, that's her choice, but I'm stating the fact that as a butch lesbian, I know my own-she's definitely embracing a masculine of center style.

I'm also probably 20 years older than Mariah and Audrey, and I find them very over the top. The only reason I chime in here is because I do think this thread sometimes has a hard time separating "existing as gay" and "LOOK AT ME I'M SO GAY". Mariah and Audrey cutting their hair short, whether you like the cut or not, isn't activism, it's what they clearly like. I don't run around telling everyone I meet how very gay I am but I also recognize that 99% of the world would clock me as potentially gay immediately, because I dress in a very stereotypically masculine fashion. And I think sometimes it's hard because most of the world is conditioned to see "butch" as either being stereotypically over the top (think Big Boo in Orange is the New Black") or basically non-threatening vaguely masculine, like Ellen DeGeneres. And you know what, it sucks to open this thread sometimes, see someone who is definitely exploring dressing masculine of center, and see the thread tear them to bits for it. I also know that while it seems like they're doing it for Instagram, if they're still in Utah they're probably having a tough time of it sometimes...I don't know any women with short hair who dress masculine who haven't been told at least once that they're in the wrong bathroom, or been called "sir" mistakenly and then treated badly when the person is corrected. If that hasn't happened to Audrey or Mariah yet, it will.

I know I'm generalizing, and I'm not trying to call anyone out or rag on anyone for snarking here. I'm just pointing out that I see a lot of myself in my early 20s in how Audrey is dressing, and sometimes it sucks to open this thread and see people reacting like Audrey wrapped herself in a rainbow flag and then set it on fire to prove a point, when it's just as likely she's more comfortable that way, even if it does make her more "in your face" gay looking.

I know this was rambling, and if it dragged the thread too off topic, mods feel free to move it or PM me. Thanks.

Your mention of "being in the wrong bathroom" and "being called sir" reminded me of my early days in the military.. Even had officers' wives wait for me to open doors at the commissary and base exchange for them. Yes, indeed. Clothing does make "the man", as that old saying goes.

When she started her double-major MSW & MSJ degree, it was supposed to take 3 years, including internships.  If she doesn't graduate this Spring, something may be up.  Her positions in SLC could have fulfilled some of the required internships, or she may have taken a leave of absence.

How does one serve internship as a Social Justice Warrior? Help organize a BLM riot or similar fiasco?

Probably so it gave Whitney more of a reason to claim Chase could just pick up and leave Wilmington.  He’s a “day laborer”/ “bartender” and those jobs are more readily available than say an accountant or owner of a business.

And she's...What? A part time laughingstock on Youtube? That's something she could do (and has done) anywhere.

yes! I do remember that show I loved it!

I think I remember that show. But what I remember is they showed what the "star" ate during a typical week. And it wasn't luscious fruits and vegetables. It was heaps of pancakes, pizzas, fatty meats, mounds of cheese, lots of desserts and gallons of full-sugar sodas used to wash down bags and bags of chips and cookies. Pretty sobering to face such a display, I would think.

"The baby came early." *snort* I knew they'd play that card.

Well, I caught a brief mention of the mother's blood pressure. Perhaps preeclampsia? It's possible they took the baby early because of the mother's health risk.

God - Fatney is such an asshole. Crying and telling her mom that her daring to suggest WLS to her when she was just “slightly” morbidly obese was SO TRAUMATIZING. Gotta love that guilt trip as she sits there with a festering sore on her forehead. Only 10 minutes in and already annoyed with this idiot. She’s gonna expect asspats until she’s dying.

Slightly morbidly obese is sort of like being a little bit pregnant. You are, or you aren't; there isn't a half-step.
