I mean from episode 1 he jumped out of that 2 seat convertible and flit around like a giant manic fly refusing to light anywhere. As soon as there was an issue he’d swing that hair out the door with that doofus grin like NOT IT!  He’s very seldom chosen to stick around and solve actual problems.

He so much as said he doesn't get involved with disciplining/managing problems with  the kids. He left it up to the various Moms to handle their problems. (this from the episode where 2 of the boys were scrapping in a parking lot).

When the time is right, he's at the head of the parade: "Hey! These are my 4 - count 'em FOUR! - wives and ALL these kids are MINE!!!" When there's a scuffle over who-gets-the-window-seat and a nose is bloodied: "I don't do discipline. Let the kids' MOTHER handle that"

Agreed! I remember when he and Robyn had that one convo on their patio (something regarding him laying down the rules with the others but for him to make sure it didn't seem to come from her). He was so deferential, soft spoken, completely focused on her without distraction or interruption and really took on what she was directing. It was surprising in comparison to how he's always interacted with the 3 OG wives.

I think he finally got the kingdom he always wanted with her and her/their kids but is too dumb to realize he's the monkey dancing to her organ grinding. I'm really curious if it will last now they will no longer have the 3 others as common enemies.

The term "organ grinding" when mentioned in a discussion of Kody & Co I find...disturbing.

I don't know if this is relevant, but early in the series, before Snowflake when to Westminster, they chatted with Kody about going to West Point then becoming a doctor. Kody didn't pushback at all, only saying that they needed the rigor of public school over the church school, to get in.

I think Kody would support any of the kids going in as officers only. When Garrison joined the national guard his big concern was that Garrison could be deployed and see action. I think Kody would support the academies or ROTC for all of the kids. (Remember, the only things he is afraid of are poverty and student loans)

Right now there are 4 that seem to have opted out, or slowed down college: Paedon, Garrison, Mykelti and Maddie.

Logan: UNLV BS & MBA Community development manager likely making $100K+

Leon: Westminster BA, MS. Writer, and pretentious twit, sponging their way through life

Aspen: UNLV BA, store manager Kendra Scott likely making $65-80K

Maddie: Slow progress towards BA, pregnant with 3rd child, husband has a union job working on elevators, and she supplements with MLMs

Hunter: AF Academy & JHU, BS & MS, likely making $100K+

Mykelti: dropped out of UNLV, Lularags--seems to be doing well. Now selling the pink drink too

    Dayton: Student @ NAU

Paedon: National Guard, and strip club bouncer

    Garrison: National Guard and construction

    Gwen: Student at NAU

    Ysabel: Student at Utah State

    Gabe: Student at NAU

    Aurora: Student at NAU

Breanna and Savannah, graduating and expected to go to college

Truely, Sol and and Ari: Public School

Less than 2/3s of high school graduates go to college, so the Browns are slightly above average. I am very hopeful that the younger girls will chase great education. Their formative years were in Las Vegas and Flagstaff, so the scent of polygamy is probably very faint.

Nope. No way Hunter is making $100K. As a 1st Lt, he'd be making half that. But he has earned my respect, unlike the majority of Kody's get.

    Yes.  Yes, she will.

I have been half paying attention to all of the tell-alls from Christine's kids, but I believe Paedon said on a podcast that Dayton does indeed want to move out and live on his own.  With a smother like Robyn, I don't blame him.  Even if Dayton went off the grid in an effort to have some independence, I can see Robyn hiring a PI to locate him, and then uprooting her kids once again to move closer to him.

Well, because they are the ONLY family members who followed his protoculls to the letter, and Robyn is the ONLY wife who listens to him, and his kids with Robyn are the ONLY ones who have a relationship with him and talk to him, and everyone else wants to stab him in the kidney or something.

But honestly, forming that company is a mean and hurtful shot to all of his other kids.  Hopefully by now the hurt isn't as bad, since their mothers have all left him and they aren't forced to jump through hoops to get 5 minutes with their dad.  Now they know to expect nothing from him...he can't tease them with a list of rules that they must follow in order to spend a little time in his glorious presence.

I feel like DARKSAD or whatever is something shady and underhanded, though.  Like, is Sol the vice president and Ari the marketing coordinator?  What's Robyn's position, President in Charge of Naps?

Would the wives get anything from him if they took him to court?  Is there anything to get?  I mean, I would love to see it happen but I wonder if they don't because A. - they genuinely want to be free of him once and for all, and B. - suing him could mean a harder life for Sol and Ari and the wives actually do care about them?

Don't forget C.- only Meri was legally married to him. The others are no more than shackup baby-mamas, spiritual marriage meaning nothing under the law.

That whole naming his company KDABSCAR DARKSCAB wtf ever -  that's just messed up.   How can he even pretend he has not elevated Robyn and her brood above the other wives and children when he's done something like that?

I wanna hear him explain why that is okay.

Easy. He REWARDS those who are FAITHFUL and COMPLIANT!

Think for yourself? How DARE you! That's a fork in the other kidney!

Interesting conundrum for Mr. & Mrs. Dark Queen - do they film their misery, thus bringing in some much needed cash since the OG 3 up and bailed?  Or in their embarrassment of not being able to pay the mortgage on the mansion, go dark and skulk around the western USA looking for someplace new to live that they can afford?  I can see Kody wanting to keep the TLC gravy train rolling and Robyn wishing otherwise.  Could be interesting.

This past season Janelle said as much in a couch interview - that her money had gone to helping Robyn and Kody purchase the mansion, but when Janelle had to move out of her rental, no one came to her aid and she was left with nothing.

I think for years, since the show started, Kody was building a financial house of cards and Janelle was the one trying to put out all of the fires caused by Kody and Robyn's overspending.  I think when it all shakes out and the Big 3 have extricated themselves from the family's tangled finances, Kody and Robyn are going to find themselves with nothing but Kody's questionable income and maybe $2.14 a month on royalties from their book.  There's no way they are going to be able to afford that house.

Actually, landing the TV show was a Hail Meri (see what I did there?) attempt by Kody to attract easy income. More recently, when TLC wasn't going to renew the contract, Kody settled for a lesser amount; half a loaf is better than none, after all. This Brownie troop has been skating on thin ice over financial disaster for a long, long time. And it looks like the house of cards is tumbling down on Kody's carefully-coiffed head.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I watched the episode. For a supposedly happy family, Robin's house seems filled with a ton of anxiety. Aurora and Brianna were far more emotional than the situation warranted, and I'm really curious who convinced them that mom might really die when the odds of her surviving were super high. Robyn never even landed on oxygen and the girls were still in tears during an interview clearly filmed after Robyn got better. I felt bad for them because someone clearly has them all worked up.

Kody did seem to be trying with Truely. I will give him that. But he sucks otherwise. And I guess Meri wasn't invited to Halloween, despite kissing their asses for months. That should tell you something about Gabe's odds of being included.

Yeah, but as they pointed out a couple of times, she COULD have gotten worse! And they're still treating this virus like it's the Gawdawful Plague Of Doom.

Paedon has said that Kody isn't vaccinated. I'm guessing that due to patriarchy that means none of Robyn or her kids are vaccinated.

Christine has talked about being vaccinated and Janelle has mentioned members of her family being vaccinated.  Janelle's called out Garrison and Hunter specifically.

Being military, they didn't have a choice in the matter.

Maybe he just doesn't want to be part of the show anymore? I think it would be a hard pass for me too, especially if I (individually) were not being paid.

In the past, Dayton has been a bit of a loose cannon. He will make comments on what is going on, that aren't very helpful in supporting the story line. For example, when his sister had the dramatic anxiety meltdown and had to be carried off to her room by Kody, Dayton can be heard in the background saying something like, "It's not THAT bad" (exact quote escapes my memory at the moment). Perhaps they decided he should be somewhere else so as not spoil the Big Scene.

Stockpiling food and supplies is an mandate of the Church of Latter Day Saints, and I believe Janelle grew up in that church.  Church members do it individually, and the LDS Church does it corporately in storage facilities throughout the country.

But during the "talking heads", every adult had a different story as to why they had such food storage. One said it was a church thing. Another said having supplies in case of blizzard, tornado, etc. And Meri just piped up and said she doesn't do any food storage at all! Ah, yes. The Church of Kody Brown is indeed strong in their culture.

He means that Robyn will need to figure that out. Kody doesn't make any effort himself when it comes to his children. He has always had his wives to do that for him.

Robyn will pitch a tent in the yard for the girl before she asks any of her kids to double up for the weekend.  Robyn has five chidren; that's a 6 bedroom house. Sorry, Truly.

What a douchebag. It boggles that someone with so many kids would be part of our countries problems!

This is one of the only things about Kody that DOESN'T bother me. The Second Amendment. So he's a firearms dealer. It's a lucrative field. And no, the GUNS are not the problem. Evil people - that's the problem.

From Jessica’s Instagram, here is the wedding party. I’d definitely say Pat heard “get a green jacket” and nothing more. I wonder who the sour-faced bridesmaid is…maybe she is a lovely person who just got stuck next to the essence of Whitney.

I remember the pig, then they were having some kind of issues with trying to keep this large livestock animal in a city yard (who would have guessed anything like this might happen???) then it was rehomed, I don't know if they ever gave details on where the pig went but I know there are many more unwanted pet pigs than there are homes.  What did happen, slaughterhouse?  Whitney ate it?

If I remember correctly, the pig died suddenly of some disease or other. I do recall the wailing, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments Whitney performed upon receiving that phone call.

According to the Knot, the wedding party was a fair size.  Jessica had a Maid of Honor, 5 bridesmaids (including Whitney), and a bridesman.  Isiah had 1 best man and 6 groomsmen. So Whitney’s inclusion makes more sense as I don’t think any ‘real” choices were left out. Also, it probably didn’t hurt that Jessica and Isiah probably got most if not all the wedding paid for and some money for their honeymoon to appear. I guess having Whitney flopping and braying on the dance floor and IG was probably worth it because I think Jessica would have felt obligated to invite her anyway and Whitney probably would have acted the same way as a bridesmaid or as a guest, so might as well get the wedding for free or close to it.  I will say Jessica has posted a couple of things on IG that makes me think she likes Whitney although I don’t know that it normally go to the level of bridal party if TLC were not involved.

A "bridesman"? Is this a thing?

I don't think the wedding ceremony (actually a vow renewal) needed to have a legal officiant since they're already married.

edited to add, even if they never legally married as some people suspect, I don't think it would matter to them if this second ceremony was legally binding or not. It was all "just for show."

Ah! Good point; it was a vow renewal and not an actual wedding ceremony.

Whitney dancing at Jessica and Isaiah's wedding. LINK

    1) She appears to be dancing with Lennie in a space outside the pavilion.

    2) She appears to be complaining to the DJ (?) about the music.

3)Lennie attempts to put his arms around her to slow dance, but "her song" comes on.

    4) She shoves Lennie away from her. He backs off as she begins to dance in classic Whitney fashion, flapping her arms, stomping and braying loudly.

    5) As the video clip ends, she is headed for the dance floor inside the pavilion. Oddly, none of the people outside so much as glanced in her direction as her little showcase erupted in front of them.

    Dang. I couldn't see it. I don't do Instagram.

Any other way I might witness this spectacle?
