  1. This so much. Also, the MAN in MANG are basically high school Karen's. LOL. Especially Max and Abby, the are going to be insufferable white women tear types, they are already pretty much well on their way if not already there. I hope season two explores Ginny's desperate need to be liked by and receive approval from white people...the friends she chose, the teacher, it's all too much.
  2. Brianne Howey totally reminds me of a young Julia Roberts! She's great. I am also oddly enough really starting to like Paul, especially his scenes with Austin. Austin is in desperate need of someone to spend time with him and be a parent to him. Georgia is really dropping the ball when it comes to Austin, and I feel so bad for him.
  3. Ginny is a very unlikeable character, and Antonia doesn't have the acting chops to go toe to toe with Georgia/Brianne. I also despise the tortured biracial (mulatto) plot points, especially since the show refuses to go deeper and examine why Ginny is having issues. It's partly her parents fault - people having children with people of different races and cultures and not equipping their children to navigate that and have pride in all of their heritage - and it's part Ginny's fault. She seems to be mostly disconnected from her black father, and completely disconnected from her black grandparents, and has made little to no effort to expand her friendship circle to include black people her age (and there's a few in town) nor does she seem to be trying to educate herself.
  4. I don’t think the teens drinking and having lots of sex is an accurate representation of the current reality. Study after study the last decade or so highlights just how little teens are having sex, drinking, doing drugs, etc. This show and Euphoria are shows made by adults and this is what they think teens are like but reality is different.
  5. Georgia is trash. Using her kids social security number to get a credit card. Nope. “Parents” who do that are gross, just slightly better than the ones who abuse or neglect their kids…..
  6. Sadly enough, the relationship between Lex and Rob could be interesting because the actors have great chemistry. I just don’t buy Sophia Bush as Chief of anything and her performance/speech in that board meeting was absolutely laughable, unrealistic, and unprofessional.
  7. Run the World is on STARZ but I think you can add as a channel and do a free trial. It’s really good, there’s also Vida on STARZ about two Latina sisters and it’s very good too. Vida was just three seasons and all three are available. Run the World aired their first season this past summer/fall and has been renewed for a second season.
  8. It was good! I like that it was very different from Run the World - but I really like them both. Meagan Goode is beautiful but she really should have re- thought that eyebrow transplant.
  9. Right! He should be banned from Australia for lying - he could also get 12 months jail time, which I would love to see.
  10. RE: Gordeeva and Grinkov. They had already won Jr. Worlds, Soviet Nationals, Euros, and were two-time World Champions by the time they competed in Calgary. They turned Sr in 1986 - two full years before the 88 Olympics and ended up winning two more world titles and another OG. All this to say - I wouldn’t lump them in with the others on this list, lol. I hated Sale and Pelletier’s Love Story program. I hated it the first time around and even more when they brought it back for the Olympics.
  11. I have an intense dislike for Jeremy O. Harris so my biggest gripe with the second season was his presence, lol. Season II was a definite improvement over season I and also a natural continuation. I hope season III explores more of Sylvie and Laurent’s dynamic as he is clearly still so in love with her - and she is in my opinion the most interesting character on the show. And the best dressed, lol. Side note, Emily is not interesting enough to have everyone fawning over her. I was cracking up when Luc was like she’s the best and Julian was like she’s alright, calm down. That’s I how I feel. Like she’s so basic but perhaps that’s the appeal. My prediction for season III, Emily follows Allie to London (and it obviously) does not work out and then she ends up back in Paris with Sylvie and gang. And Sylvie could have absolutely done what she did as long as there was no no compete clause.
  12. LOL. George Lucas basically borrowed the plot from Dune to create Star Wars.
  13. The finale was a bit underwhelming. So happy for Molly and Kelli though.
  14. Sarah Snook does not have a big butt, nor is she fat. She’s a smaller than average bottom heavy pear shaped woman.
  15. This show! BIG was still alive when Carrie found him and she did nothing. She didn’t call 911, didn’t get his pills, $20 says there was an AED in the building……in other words BIG didn’t have to die and the whole thing seems contrived. And I really hope Carrie doesn’t end up reconnecting with an ex (Aiden). I think I’m out.
  16. Exactly. People don’t understand that the whole structure of sports in Russia is totally different. It’s not like in the US where so many talented skaters and skaters with potential don’t even get a shot because their parents can’t afford it. Honestly, I don’t find the current Russian domination of women’s figure skating all that shocking. The groundwork was laid in the late 90’s/early aughts; they’ll dominate for while and they’ll force everyone else to catch up - in the same way that people caught up with the US when it comes to mens and womens figure skating and in the same way folks caught up to USSR/Russia in Ice Dancing and Pairs. I said this in the Olympic thread and I’ll say it again here too, while I am American I don’t automatically root for Americans. And when it comes to international sports - I always want to see a great competition! I want to see the very best compete and hopefully then see the best win - I could care less if they are American, French, German, Japanese, Togolese, etc etc
  17. I enjoyed this episode and I love that there was no assistant soccer coach - although I have a better understanding of Whitney's relationship with him; she clearly has daddy issues. Also, while I understand that Kimberly is not as well off as the other three (apparently); she isn't poor. And I hate that the show was making it seem as though she was. I would imagine that her family is probably solidly middle class; she lives in a relatively low cost or average cost city/state and her dad was a manager at a major pharmacy chain.
  18. To me it feels like the Valeria character was shoe-horned to provide “diversity”. Like god-forbid there’s a show with four black female leads. The Valeria character just feels out of place for me. There seems to be a level of chemistry with Nat, Eve, and Brandy that comes across on screen that is missing with the actress that plays Valeria. Also, I look at her and she reminds me of Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend; bad plastic surgery.
  19. Molly was driving me nuts this episode. Like you have the ability to do so, take some time off from work. Talk to your coworkers; she’s lucky that Taureen was so understanding….that being said Yvonne Orji is sooo stunning with the short hair. And while I think Nathan and Issa are just totally mismatched - Nathan was right. Issa is the one who has been all over the place.
  20. I haven’t heard anything about PEDs. She gets them young and they have a brutal training regime; also explains why they struggle with jumps once they gain some inches or some lbs Also, I don’t think it’s a Russian thing - so much as it is a figure skating thing. I swear something was lost with the sport with the scoring changes and truth be told I’m hard pressed to remember or find hardly any skaters memorable post 2006ish……truth be told with the exception of Yuna Kim I can’t remember a single women’s Olympic Gold medalist. Ditto pairs (with the exception of TotM), and Mens.
  21. No way! He got all of the bone structure, lol. I would have never guessed that, I don't think they look alike - she's so plain and he's rather striking, especially for a guy (the bone structure).
  22. I like her too. She’s a fabulous young skater. One thing I do appreciate about all these young Russian’s is their speed and clean lines. I feel bad for Anna Shcherbakova though, she was pretty much anointed the one to beat and one to watch - was finally old enough for Sr. Worlds just this year and she’s already being eclipsed by Kamila Valieva.
  23. Agreed. Maid has more substance and better writing.
  24. I didn't. I am also not on social media - so that probably explains it. LOL.
  25. Am I the last person to know that Katia Gordeeva is married to one of my least favorite figure skaters ever: David Pelletier! What the heck? Also, what’s the pairs competition looking like for the Olympics? I know Russian pairs skaters seem ti be getting their shit back together…..
