Thanks for the tip about the youtube interview.  I will look for that.

THANK YOU FOR THIS !  I fell in love with this show after seeing 'Unorthodox'. I finished watching a few weeks ago - watched no more than 2 episodes at a time, didn't want this to end. (Recommended this to friends of all ages - they all loved it. Some watched all the episodes in a two day marathon). I've become sucha  fan of Michael Aloni - I could listen to him talk forever. What an intelligent, interesting man to listen to and learn from. I hope he makes it on to Broadway some day - would love to see him in person.

I wonder if RHoNYC came calling, would she join?  Curious.

Only if she didn't have to do a 'chemistry test' with the other cast members, I'm sure. She'll tell Andy 'you know my work, what you see is what you get! I'm not doing a chemistry test with the other bitches!"

PBS is now running series 1 again and I am seeing there is either so much more or I have forgotten a lot!  Why was Alan so horrified that Celia reads the Daily Mail?

I believe because the DM is a conservative newspaper, and he's a liberal. So they have very different political views. I think she came across to him as less than conservative, IIRC.

Helen Hunt’s plastic surgery is jarring.  It looks as if every inch of pliable skin has been stretched so tautly across her mouth and cheekbones.  She looks almost mummified, and sounds as if she has a hard time speaking because there is no flexibility in the skin or muscles around her lips.  Does she have an ill-fitting pair of dentures crammed in there?  I think her attempt to “look fresh and young” has stilted her acting ability.  She can’t emote with her eyes or facial expressions anymore.

As much as I liked this series, this is what I found so distracting. Between the plastic surgery and the lighting they used on her to soften that 'jarring' appearance, it's very distracting to watch her scenes. The delivery of her lines is rather sharp and robotic, too - not too much emotion.

Overall, I'd give it a B+ since the direction was pretty good and the series moved fast. Some of the characters could be more interesting, and better-written, too. I'll see if I tune in next year.

  5. Most of the plots this season seem like 'subplots'. I still love the show - still think it's one of the best dramas on TV - but it seems to have gotten lost in itself, once again, as it did in S3.  WIth a shortened season 4 (episode 7 is  going to be the last, as they cut the last three due to the pandemic) it may go down as the most disappointing season for the series.

The good news is that the show was picked up for a fifth season for 2021, and the last three episodes written for this season (S4) will start the season off.

Shot Thursday or Friday, who the hell cares heh!  Its the last shooting for a lil while.  I love Thurs & Fri.  I get down right giddy lol. the anticipation starts Thurs, and Im smiling right through Fri!  Whoopi was just being giddy.  I giddy it HAH! Stupid.

I wonder if they will be taking next week off ? I think they usually do for Memorial Day week, now that May ratings sweeps are over. They may come back live the first week of June. (I think they should take the summer off and come back after Labor Day - in studio).

  7. As for the cases on 5-22-20:

Can JM please leave these 'shocking family secrets' for Dr. Phil ? She is supposed to be a Judge (or mediator), not a family therapist. Please stick to the legalities of the case and stop exploiting these young people for ratings. A month ago, we had the young man who found out his grandmother died while taping an episode, yesterday we have the big family secret that the brother sexually abused the sister. If I want to see this exploitation, I'd tune in to Dr. Phil each day - but I purposely don't. Stick to the case and the facts presented - we don't need to dig deeper and ask 'where's dad in the picture?'  Dad was never brought up, and is not part of the legal suit.

As for the 59 year old man and the 27 year old Kim Kardashian Clone. It's so nice to see JM laugh and giggle along with the Defendant and reward her in the end for despicable behavior. In a three month period, he 'gifted' her thousands of dollars, and how much did she 'gift back' in return ? JM didn't ask that question (Judge Judy always does). If they had reached the 'gifting' stage in their relationship, how did the defendant reciprocate ? Yet JM was so impressed with how she took advantage of the older man, she didn't care about the legalities of the case. Thie Kardashian Clone was her hero, as she encompassed all the morals of younger women everywhere.

But I couldn't help wondering -  would this have played out the same if it was a 59 year old woman suing a 27 year old muscle stud ?  Would JM be giggling and laughing along with him if a older woman was ripped off by his charms and seduction? Would she be cheering him on with 'you go stud muffin!' if the plaintiff was a 59 year old woman ?  I think not.

  8. I also found it rather odd that Whoopie kept saying how excited she was that it 'was Friday' and kept interjecting 'It's Friday, everyone!' when we all know damn well the show was taped on Thursday afternoon. Even Sunny and Meghan gave her an odd look when she wouldn't stop. Quite honestly, viewers don't care what day it is or when the show tapes -  every show seems the same to us for the past few months.

I read yesterday that this will be the first time in 5 years that the Daytime Emmys will be on tv.  Then I checked to see if the show received any nominations, and I couldn't find anything.  No wonder, since they didn't announce them until today - lol.

It's nice that Ana was included in the nominations.

Today ? They announced them yesterday, which is why I posted last night.

    Really boring show today.

To say the very least. It was like watching wall paper peel. If I wanted to watch a boring talk show, I'd DVR 'The Talk' each day. It's now become a 'chore' to watch this show, rather than 'a pleasure'.  I'd have even taken Andrew Glassman pushing Oprah's crap in one of the dull Tim Scott interview segments.

As for Meghan saying she didn't get the job the first time around because "she wouldn't do a chemistry test" is not true at all. The truth was everywhere when they were auditioning that season and it has nothing to do with what she claims. I wish Whoopie would have called her out on that. Can't say more.

I think she did it to show the plaintiff how utterly contemptuous she was of him. He fully deserved having to gaze upon the sole of her shoes for the rest of his testimony.

Yep, I know why she did it. But she's being 'disrespectful' in a court of law by doing so, something she reprimands others for doing. If she wants to be taken serious as a 'judge' she needs to act professional. Save the over-acting for your kids at home, when they misbehave.

  12. Rachel Dratch was on 'The Good Fight' tonight, and all I can think of was - now there's Rosie O'Donnell! Although Dratch is on the shorter side (and I always think Rosie is tall - I may be wrong).

I'm really liking my suggestion of Lynn Whitfield for Star Jones!

Can I please cast this ? Please, please, please ????

  13. THE VIEW received nominations today for this season's DAYTIME EMMYS, which is to be broadcast the night of June 26 in an 'alternative' format (guests and winners will stay in the 'safety of their homes').

THE VIEW is up for 'Outstanding Informative Talk Show', and competing with 'Today with Hoda and Jenna', 'Larry King NOW', 'Tamron Hall' and 'Red Table Talk'.  (Their copycat show 'The Talk' is nominated in 'Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show' this year.)

The four women plus Abby and Ana are up for 'Outstanding Informative Talk Show Hosts' competing with the hosts of each show mentioned above.  I wonder if they will mention this tomorrow, since their Friday show was taped this afternoon, after (or during) the nominations  ?

Yeah-Whoopi seemed to get upset that Sunny said she didn't look like a 109 year old woman that she looked like Whoopi. Every exchange between them seems to get uncomfortable.

I noticed that - here's Sunny kissing her ass, but somehow she managed to screw that up as well. I believe she was only giving Whoopi a compliment, but Whoopi took it as an insult to her 'professional portrayal'.  Go figure.

  15. Observations from today's show:

    1. Meghan didn't take offense that the ladies were talking about their appearances - especially their hair. I can't keep up with her - one day she's ripping people to shreds for mentioning appearances, the next she's laughing and in total agreement as though she's at a slumber party. Which is it Meghan? When you pick a side of the argument, let us know.

    2. I like Chuck Schumer. I always have and I always will. But multiple segments of Schumer in one episode proves less is more with him - and he wears out his welcome quickly. At this point, all the politicians coming on are giving their take on COVID 19, and what needs to be done next to end this pandemic which has closed down our country. Of course, there is no answer (and who knows whether we will get one or not). After two months, these political segments have proven laborious  for the guest, and exhausting to the viewer. Let's skip them for a long while.

    3. I'm tired of them all kissing Whoopi's ass. Today Sunny pulled out a photo of Whoopi from the TV movie she filmed last winter, as though it was a surprise to everyone when in fact it wasn't - least of all Whoopi. No one had a 'surprised' look on their face - especially not Whoopi. Ridiculous.

OK, that's my rant for today. Who knows whether I will watch tomorrow, since Fridays are usually recorded the day before and we usually have to suffer with Adam Glassman for 'View Your Deal' at the end.

  16. In the car deal gone wrong case some observations:

    1.  Upon realizing he was losing the case rather rapidly, the Plaintiff (Mr. Ortiz) muttered "I shoulda taken care of things 'my way' ".  Sounds like a thug threat, and JM doesn't question him about it. Hmmm. I;m afraid for the defendant since the P appeared quite unstable as the case was going down.

    2.  At one point, JM decided to prop both her feet up on the desk. Yep - she did this. Something a kid would do, and at 59 she's not a kid. Just goes to show the world: all the money in the world can't buy you class or manners. But I always knew that by how she talks with her hands and yells at people for no reason.

She can leave her house. Put on a mask. Social distance.  She acts like she is on house arrest.

LOL! I keep thinking the same thing.  She acts like she's been diagnosed with a rare, highly contagious illness, and can't be out of a 'controlled environment'. It's only pregnancy, for God's sake!

Put on a mask, grab your husband's hand, and take a stroll around Central Park. Plenty of acreage there to get the fresh air while social distancing from strangers.

Yet this is her way of getting the maximum attention.

  18. Once again, today on the show Joy said that Biden is beating Trump in the polls. I haven't seen any news at all about polls, nothing on TV and nothing on websites. All the focus is on COVID19 (and rightly so). I haven't heard any 'poll' mentioned. Does anyone know where Joy is getting her info from ? I'm not doubting her - I'm just curious, as I haven't heard anything in two months.

Exactly! I'm able to work from home and still getting my same salary, but there's no telling how my job as well as those of my family and friends could be affected. I help out my loved ones, try to choose local business when I can, and am a generous tipper. I definitely don't have Whoopi Goldberg coins though. I can only do so much.

This isn't just from the View, but I too feel like I'm getting mixed messages in general. Sometimes I feel like the message I'm getting is I'm spending too much since the future is so uncertain and that I should be saving more. Other times I feel like I'm supposed to constantly share and spend and help save these small businesses. I'm sorry, but the average American probably shouldn't spend their hard-earned money on gift cards from small businesses that may close down when they have their own bills to pay and family to feed. Same with the VYD. If you're actually getting a great deal on something you want, sweet. But unless you have the kind of money the View hosts do, gotta be careful with those too.

    I agree 100%.

The future is so uncertain - I would caution anyone and everyone to buy what they truly need, and if they can get a great deal on something - terrific! But these 'view your deal' offerings are not the bargain they think they're getting - not when most retailers have their merchandise marked down  75% these days to get rid of untouched merchandise and generate some cash. 50% is not cutting it during a pandemic.

And I should caution - with the pandemic, be careful what you choose. Many retailers / on-line businesses are NOT taking returns at this time, as a precaution during the virus (can't blame them). So if someone thinks they can easily return their $100 face mask and get a refund when their phone bill comes due, they better think again.

  20. My take-away from today's episode:

Rebecca Jarvis is  telling people to prioritize their debt, and try to pay what you must for the next few months - year. Call your bank and ask them to work with you on your mortgage payments, ask your landlord for help on your rent, etc.  Many people just may not be going back to the job they had in February - ever.

    Question for Ms. Jarvis:

Where does the daily 'View Your Deal' fit into  'prioritizing ones budget '?  Shall we dive into our 401Ks,  and keep buying over-priced face creams and skin moisturizers to keep the small businesses afloat?  Should we add more to our credit card debt to buy Oprah's favorite  products, even though we're asking for debt forbearance in the first place ?

This is what the show doesn't get right - at all. They're telling people on a regular basis to be careful with their finances during these turbulent times, and spend conservatively to keep a roof over your head.  Then they push this stuff on a daily basis, obviously to profit off each sale available to viewers - who they're cautioning.

It's like having a doctor telling your viewers every day to watch what they eat, eat only healthy foods you cook for yourselves, stay away from processed foods and fried foods, etc.  And then offering your viewers to buy a $100 gift card to Cracker Barrel Restaurants for only $50. Just a bit too crazy.
