  1. No, it's not all over yet and we shouldn't spread that kind of thinking. I'm disappointed there was no back order, but Kung Fu is in its 3rd season and only has 13 episode seasons, it's possible The Winchesters will go that route. This does not mean for certain that there will be no Season 2. Until that decision is made, we should all focus on watching live if possible, streaming on the CW app, and otherwise showing how much we're enjoying the show and would love to see more seasons. Just like the old days of SPN.
  2. Another solid episode, and a creepy monster! So glad the show is attempting to get back to SPN's scary roots. Something I love about this show is the chance to get to know John & Mary and see their bond, which really puts it into perspective what John lost. It was always sort of abstract before, we knew they were in love but we never felt a connection because we didn't see it. No one bats an eye at the ways Sam & Dean react to losing each other, because we've seen their relationship and we're attached to it. The extremes they go to for each other over and over again are tragic, but understandable. Yet not many ppl look at John & Mary like that. Now, actually watching their friendship form and evolve, I know I'm already mourning Mary more than I was before and it's easy to imagine how losing her will destroy John.
  3. Solid beginning, especially considering all the controversy surrounding the show. The numbers should climb quite a bit when they factor in streaming too, I assume. The Winchesters Scares Up Strong Debut; Outdraws Walker
  4. I assume anyone under 18 would need a waiver from a parent, and Millie said John forged his father's signature. If they're going with John's birth year being 1954 he actually enlisted when he was 16.
  5. That was awesome. When they released the first promo, I was a little concerned there were going for a lighter, more campy vibe than what I like-- so happy to see it was dark, and had some real weight to it. All the characters are much younger than I am, but it didn't feel like a teen show. Something else I was hoping for was the chance to touch on John's Vietnam PTSD, and I was thrilled they immediately got into that. Drake was perfect casting, he looks so much like JDM and S1 Sam, and the way he sounded just like Gil when he was delivering that line Henry used to tell John was great. Kid has done his homework and it shows. He had such a sadness in his eyes, and a compassionate side (how he tried to reassure Murph, and Mary, and Latika) I immediately cared about him. Also, as someone who enlisted on my 17th birthday with a (legal) waiver, that line made me chuckle. And I appreciated the attention to detail. I was hoping they weren't going to turn Mary into a stereotypical "tough girl", and so far so good. She's a badass, she is tough, but she also showed compassion and some vulnerability. The way she noticed John's uniform and how he'd been gone for 2 years and gave him her licorice-- it was a small moment, but it was cute. And their convo in the car about John's friend and all the people Mary couldn't save had me feeling for both of them. Not as much to say about Carlos and Latika but I enjoyed both of them and can't wait to get to know them more. Ada, as well. I'm wondering where Mary's mother is? Oh, and Millie! I was curious to see if she knew about the Men of Letters and kept that from John, as a way to keep him away from that life. I'm a little unclear, but I think that's the case? I love that she's this tough mechanic, and picturing her with bookworm Henry is cute. Really excited to learn all about her. The creature was a bit cheesy, but honestly I'm so tired of monsters who just look like humans that I welcome the change. And John slicing into his arm was a nice way to see the future John in his younger self. And, obviously, DEAN. I feel like a little piece of me has healed, or at least scarred over, getting to see him again. To each their own, but I hated how his life ended, so I'm thrilled he has more story to tell.
  6. THE WINCHESTERS EPs Danneel & Jensen Ackles on the importance of SUPERNATURAL's legacy | TV Insider I love hearing Jensen & Danneel talk about the show, it obviously means a lot to them.
  7. This interview has me so hyped. Drake really seems to know the show and the character. I'm interested to see how they'll handle John's PTSD from Vietnam and how he deals it by hunting. Honestly, the show sounds better and better the more I read about it. 'The Winchesters' Star Drake Rodger on How the 'Supernatural' Spin-off is John Winchester's 'Breaking Bad'
  8. While I understand not being interested in cons yourself, and finding the questions repetitive, I don't understand the "hoping to God" there won't be anymore in the future. If you don't like them, you don't have to go. I've only been to one, but it was a great experience and as long as the actors are willing to continue going (I understand as J2 get busier, that may not be possible), I hope they go for a long time.
  9. I’m not sure anything Jared could say now would undo the damage done a year ago. Once some fans latch onto something, it’s almost impossible to get them to let go. Which is why I was so disappointed when the prequel drama was made public in the first place, it should’ve been resolved privately between two friends.
  10. Jared did speak on the Twitter drama a bit today on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast. Any JP stans who continue to attack Jensen need to understand they’re doing it for themselves, not Jared.
  11. I have always wanted a prequel showing John learning the ropes and raising the boys (if only it could've been done back when JDM was available). But I also think it would be a hard sell, even more than The Winchesters, for the fandom. The biggest reason being Dean and Sam would be recast, and J2 was lightning in a bottle, I don't know if I could ever follow along with another 2 actors in those roles.
  12. That's pretty insulting. Jensen IS Dean, just like Jared is Sam. Neither one of them can "cosplay" as their own characters on a TV show. (I also don't think Walker is Jared's vanity project, just his next project post-SPN, not my cup of tea but I'm not going to complain under every post about it on Twitter either) And it's funny that you're claiming Jensen fans are acting like he and only he was SPN because from what I've seen, we're all assuming Jared will have some part to play in the prequel eventually. I wouldn't be surprised. He is not being excluded from anything, that drama is a year old and has been explained and dealt with by J2. I don't know why some people can't let it go.
  13. As far as production values, I'm no expert but I did think the demon getting thrown by the van looked pretty bad, and the costuming for Mary looks more '90s than '70s. Other than that, I didn't have any problems. And the amber hue is an interesting choice as contrast to SPN's blue/gray color scheme, I like it.
  14. You’re right, they’re not the only ones. But they do seem to be a large part. Just read the comments under any tweet about The Winchesters. It’s just silly to criticize the show before it’s even aired. You can be skeptical, sure, but you (general you) don’t know how they’re going to address canon so you can’t criticize it yet.
  15. I couldn't agree more 👏 I've questioned that a few times now, how people can complain so much about canon when SPN violated it's own canon so many times and Chuck basically threw it all away, so far no one has given me an answer. In my opinon, "canon" is just the buzzword JP stans are using to criticize the show because they're still bitter about what happened when the prequel was announced last year. I wish they'd just let it go, but alas. If The Winchesters rips up the last few seasons of SPN I wouldn't be upset at all! Then maybe we could get the limited series reboot in a few years and have a more satisfying series finale (a girl can dream!)
