Was this storyline supposed to be funny? Now while it was with Charlotte, what I liked is she didn't give in and stayed true to how she felt. Plus, I don't think the guy was threatening to dump her, he just wanted to do it.

I'll bet MPK's typists thought it would be funny.

...but these are the same people who think Che Diaz is a riot!

I felt as though Lisette pointing out the ceiling stain was a portent of something ominous - like the ceiling was going to come crashing down during the dinner.  But no - just a stain, I guess?

This had me wondering if the property might not pass inspection and there would be some sort of contingency where such would void or hold up the sale of the apartment?

... but then when we later saw Carrie seemingly living in the 4 bdr apartment, I guessed everything went through, and I was back to wondering why that was mentioned.

Unless s3 finds Carrie owning both apartments and deciding to sell off the larger one now that she doesn't need room for Aiden and the boys.

So basically Giuseppe threatened to leave New York until Anthony did what he wanted?  (And I don't just mean the butt sex.  Opening up emotionally takes time for some people, especially when you're older.)

See, and I had to keep reminding myself who he was.  He kept blending into the background, and I kept forgetting he was even with Anthony.

And I hated that last scene, Anthony was completely checked out.  THAT was emotional manipulation, but they can't let Anthony have anything good either, so lets shove him on the bottom like a good girl & let the big man on top get his happy. I could REALLY have done without that scene, BTW.   It's barely over the line from rape to me, because it was so blatantly coerced......

Are we supposed to think they are a good couple?  As I keep saying if this was a hetero couple and they were written this way it would be a toxic relationship and the man having serious control issues.

Sadly, I think this happens a whole lot. One partner coercing, emotionally manipulating  or wearing down the other until they get them to do things they don't really want to do.

  4. After seeing the short promo with the phone in it and that Carrie is talking to Samantha while not yet wearing the party dress, I thought Carrie might call her back while everyone was there at the dinner... to kind of include her. So  I  wasn't shocked that KC's appearance wasn't the last scene.

    Samantha was channeling Annabelle Bronstein.

Yes I remember, from the getting into the pool episode. I meant  all the lines KC delivered prior to saying put me on speaker... after which  she did the Annabell Bronstein takeoff thanking the fabulous flat.  She did not sound like Samantha  normally talking to Carrie. Waaayyy overdone IMO.

    and I'm a fan!

Oh, did she?! Thanks. I must admit, I was a bit distracted as a small smoky mouse ran through my living room looking lost while I was watching the episode!

Yep! The other day on the pt. 1 thread I missed something pretty obvious and so I had to list  all my distractions . lol

  7. Why is Charlotte looking at Harry like she's totally mystified when Harry says "Anthony's here, he wants to talk about loosing his ass virginity!" Don't make me drag out the SATC s1 e4 script!

[Charlotte's boyfriend wanted anal sex and they had to all four get together to discuss whether or not she should  do it]

Pretty funny when Nya comes in and states I don't know any of these people.Well duh, You and Carrie barely know each other.

Lisette introduces herself to Che and because they won't ever see each other again (probably) when Lisette asks about upcoming comedy shows, Che blurts out "I'm transitioning. Emotionally. The old me's fucked and the new me's not here yet."

    Get the net.

    YES!

He manages to cross the dreaded threshold of the old apartment to tell her that without turning to dust, but neither mention he's inside it.

I was just about to work into this post for our non-watchers that Aiden told her that she has to wait until Wyatt is out of his teens in her apartment he caused so much chaos over  not setting foot in. So in the interest of doing that and not nit picky correction...  I think she said "You're in the apartment, you said you'd never set foot in the apartment."

Why Jackie and his wife but  no Franklyn[from the podcast]?

  8. Why when one of the first scenes played out with Carrie getting ready did I have the thought I'm worried for that kitty?

IDK how I feel about the Samantha scene. The content? She was going to  surprise Carrie by being at the dinner party. [but couldn't due to a flight delay] 🫶Beautiful. 🫶Touching.🫶The haughty overdone delivery?🖐️

WHY is Steve talking that way!🤢

Charlotte whispering? I can dig it!

Despite MPK telling anyone who would listen that he didn't bring Aiden back again to fail, I full well knew Carrie and Aiden were not end game. Of course he was going to say my place is with my boys!

He doesn't even ask if Carrie is willing to tie up 5 years of her life until he feels his boys, even the special needs one... will be ok. The years 56-61, at that. Didn't even ask how she felt about it. We're supposed to wait until next season to see what she does? I stated on the last thread I hope they won't leave the Aiden Carrie thing open ended. Will they or won't they go on; because that would be some really  cheesey lazy writing typing.

I love LTW's chunky gold  jewelry! She carries off bright colors so well. Loved Carrie's  dinner party dress! She also looked great in that hot pink crochet dress on the beach in Greece.

Who's taking care of the kitty? 🙀

At home in Nya's doorway... Professor! 🫣That's a lot of boob to be exposing to a man you just met!

    Carrie does nude scenes now?👀

I do not care about Che or Toby or Che + Toby.

  9. What is TIU?

As there's nothing much good to watch series wise these days I'll probably be watching  S3... and hating the writing. I'm not really in the camp of hating Carrie which probably is due to finding SJP likable. I'm sure if I met someone who conducted themself like Carrie  in real life I'd avoid them like the plague!

I fear the end of S2 is going to be disappointing, lol.

I've stated it before but by writing the 4 women and their men as very successful to uber wealthy they've cut off a lot interesting  directions in which to to take the characters.   Realistic scenarios where  people grow apart because they  don't run in the same circles anymore or they have trouble keeping up with a friend who has no financial constraints  at all where you have nothing but... all those kinds of things are off the table because everyone has only rich people problems.

Che's fall  from stand up comedy sensation to veterinary office front desk person notwithstanding. We didn't come into this to watch Che.

  10. So these are supposed to be Carrie's closest friends who know what the apartment has meant to her over the years? Most of these people don't know each other and they barely know Carrie. From the clip I see:

    Miranda

    Charlotte + Harry

    Anthony + Guiseppi

    Che

    Seema + the director dude

    LTW + Herbert

    Nya

    Lisette,  the jewelry designer neighbor

    Jackie

lady sitting next to Jackie, possibly his wife who didn't complete Carrie's dress for the Met Gala.

It's a dinner for 16  by a chef that Carrie won. She said   a chair would be left for the big baby in case he changed his mind about never entering her apartment. So that's the 14 above + Carrie. Someone pointed out on the pt. 1 thread the man who asked Nya if they'd met is probably the chef.

If Nya and Carrie were at the upscale hotel bar and / or  at the Halloween costume party  it's the the only time(s) I can recall Nya and Carrie being in each other's presence this season? Last season I can only recall one lunch and the time Miranda got Carrie involved in painting some women's shelter Nya was involved with.

    Pretty strange.

JC as Down-Home Aidan, for sure. Every episode since he re-appeared Aidan is becoming less appealing. That whole "I just gotta chat with the neighbors in the lobby" schtick and "Country Lurch" once again in the tighty whities = YUCK! He's like a big annoying slobbery puppy.

I'm no Bo Derek, but he sure coulda pulled me, during his Chris in the Morning years. I was so swoony for him. And I think he was just great in that role, and I still think he's a perfectly fine, often funny, often sexy actor. I loved him in "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll" where he played very much the anti-Aidan: boozy, druggy, womanizing rock musician dating somebody young enough to be his daughter. And in Rebel, with Katy Sagal, as her possibly cheating 3rd husband. Anyway. Tastes clearly vary.

I'll have to check those two out. I don't even mind his corniness some people cite here, he's tall and has pleasant features... I just get zero sex appeal from the man. Maybe it's his voice?

My husband was a Northern Exposure fan so I've bought the DVD's (for him), but I never got into it.

I'm sorry but I do not see passion between Carrie and Aiden.  Aiden (and if I'm being honest John Corbett) just seems so vanilla to me.  He isn't unattractive but I just do not get any sex appeal from him.

I feel the same way. Mind you I think that individual who wrote two articles calling  Aiden a  dirtbag is looney tunes. John Corbett  just seems so bland and vanilla! His acting sure doesn't inspire admiration, as he's exactly the same in everything I've ever seen him in.

...but what do we know? He managed to pull Bo Derek.`So...``shrugs```

Getting back on track, I just cannot believe this is what MPK and the  typists dreamed up for Carrie's next chapter. Oh yeah, lets bring back that guy it didn't work out with twice and have her relate to him completely differently this time. Even when they first met and she was wondering why he was taking it slowly and getting to know her before bringing sex into it, she wasn't acting all giddy. Impatient? yes. Giddy and uncharacteristically light hearted? Not the way I remember it.

They could have had her remain single or get something going with Franklyn or the other guy. If they were going to make it Aiden with the added drama of 3 kids and an ex wife... what a strange choice  not to show how Carrie and his boys interacted together.

Whether it's a good or bad thing, I do think Carrie is at her most Carrie-like, in this series, in her scenes with Aidan. AJLT's Carrie (and even in the second movie), Carrie seemed brittle, drawn, bitter. Of course, Big's death had a lot to do with that, and understandably so. But with Aidan, she's looser, girlier, softer, sillier. For better or worse, I guess.

I agree that's how Carrie is coming across with Aiden lately. These acting and directing choices are to show us that things   are on track to work out for them at long last. With this and all that "Was Big a big mistake?" BS, I personally feel it's to shit on Chris Noth because of the accusations made against him... just as cutting the scenes filmed with him from S1 was. I fear that where they're going is not going to be very satisfying  for us (the audience).

Are we just supposed to forget how Carrie couldn't stay way from Big even though she was with a decent  age appropriate boyfriend with no commitment issues? I know we all remember the  difference in the way the love making scenes were portrayed. They want to do a rewrite of the whole thing and suggest Carrie and Aiden have  all this newfound intensity in  the 3rd incarnation of their relationship, and that seems highly unlikely.

A lot of Che's routine about Miranda the straight white lady centered around her being  a shitty inept sex partner. Did they forget they already showed Miranda enthusiastically pleasing Che orally (who seemed pretty pleased) and giving the strap on a try? Che took a phone call during the former!!!

It's been pointed out several times already that Che said Miranda brought her husband and son into their bed which was meant figuratively whereas Che brought a whole husband into their bed... literally!

Yet most here keep saying Che might have been mean, but  told no lies!

Che was leaning on  ways  old white ladies are stereotyped for cheap laughs... (but still didn't get any) because THAT'S ok.

MBFGW3--apparently a series or movie with which I am completely unfamiliar.  But Chris will always be Chris in the Morning to me.

I tried to watch the original MBFGW again when it was on cable earlier tonight. I just cannot get through that snoozefest. I can't put my finger on why but I don't find John Corbett appealing. I don't intensely dislike him or anything, I just find him so bland and boring.

The typists can tell me Carrie is all lit up with newfound excitement in her 3rd go round with Aiden. I  just am not buying it.

  16. re: LTW's unexpected pregnancy

I was thinking about how usually these story lines are made to quickly resolve by being written as ending in a miscarriage. I   thought I  remembered the All In The Family spin off series Maude doing an episode where she has an abortion way back in the 70's. Apparently it was a two part episode  in 1972  and Maude was 45 years old. Wasn't it only legalized in 1972? I ran across this  page, a timeline of abortion stories in U.S. popular media. I didn't remember  the All My Children character Erica Cain had one in 1973. It's interesting.

    https://pennylaneismyrealname.com/a-timeline-of-abortion-stories-in-us-popular-media/

LTW said in the episode she thought she'd moved out of babyville. How old is her character supposed to be? Why do I think 47? I believe the actress is 52.

Since a few on this board love to mention the farthest out  of  outliers... I lived in babyville for 45 years! Moved out last year. I had to laugh about how Carrie should have condoms for  guarding against STD's, if nothing else. I've  seen horrified looks on younger women's faces in the family or at the doctor's office when I tell them I had my cycle every 28 days from 13 to 58.

I'm a stepmom. Never had children.

  17. I agree with you @swankie

I would have put Rami's look in the bottom 3, with Bishme's being at the very bottom for pretty much the first time that I can recall? If Rami didn't get auf'd in the denim challenge E8 where Prajje should've gone,  the save could have been available for  Bishme.

  18. IDK, I got the intention behind Brittany's look. If making a completely covered up dress in solid fabric  with body conscious fit  would be a valid  way to answer  the  modest/sexy challenge

why wouldn't   blending sheerness with a high neck, long sleeve, full length    flowy silhouette  do that as well? ....just in a less expected way.

Those  saying there's nothing modest about a look that reveals one's  butt cheeks have a point, but the challenge wasn't merely to make something modest. It was to make something with both disparate elements. It was kind of a dumb challenge to begin with, the judges even said they'd be confused and overwhelmed. What did Romi get, fitted +oversized?

I don't think anyone who's not rooting for Brittany or not liking her aesthetic has to worry about her ending up in the finale though.Would love to see her up her game and have me be wrong!

When Korto's elimination reduced the field to 5 Brittany excitedly uttered "I've never been top 5 before!"   Did she forget she won the Seeing Red challenge E5?

She'd have to make something pretty  striking  and completely unexpected(as she did here), for the next few challenges and make them clearly better than Bishme's and Laurance's. I doubt Bishme will  be caught slipping again!

If Miranda ever talks to Che again after that cruel set she gets everything she deserves.  And for Che to turn around when they are caught out and make it all about “poor old Che” who know one understands is some high level narcissism …

when the relationship ended, Che had 'clueless old confused straight lady' material to twist into a comedy set.

Che was totally indignant and angry that Miranda had the nerve to  be hurt! It was Che's perfect right to be a jerk in the name of self expression. It was Miranda's damn fault for showing up to support and hearing it!

When exactly did discovering you have the freedom    to not twist  yourself in knots trying to conform to society's expectations  equate to being so callous  you don't  consider  the  vulnerabilities  of others unless   they're literally  tiny helpless kittens dumped in the city streets of New York??????

What if Miranda was the stand up comic and talked about Che's issues, insecurities and N.B. status... using only Che's own words? I can't begin to  imagine the  outrage that would ensue.

Che walked off with Toby who thank goodness was there to offer support... and also advice to stop apologizing all over the place. Huh?😕
