  1. I'll be the odd one out and say it, I didn't like the grown up Esther in therapy scene. The actress was basically doing an impression of Rachel Brosnahan as Midge; I was actually confused for a moment why teenage Midge was living in the 1980s. And we're supposed to believe Esther is some sort of prodigy or genius? Abe and Midge's brother are extremely smart but her coming up with some formula on the fly to use DNA mutations to basically cure cancer was a little over the top. The show is turning into a parody of itself, IMO. I'll continue to see it through to the end but a lot of the magic is gone for me.
  2. I'm really not feeling the addition of Amy Schumer and Cara Delevingne. Amy is annoying as hell and I would rather see someone else in this role. Bette Midler could have done this better playing a fictional version of herself. The mentioning of Rosemary's Baby makes me think this could have even been played by Mia Farrow. Cara Delevingne is not annoying like Amy but she's just a crap actor. If they've decided to replace Oscar with her character they could have done a better job ending his story. It feels like they did Oscar (and the actor who plays him) dirty. Shirley Maclaine on the other hand is a fantastic addition to this season. I love her in this role and can't wait to see more from her character. I also hope they bring Jane Lynch back, loved the banter between her and Steve Martin.
  3. There are two more episodes to this season.
  4. Totally saw the ending coming once Midge went up there and basically blew Shy's cover. I was disappointed that we weren't getting 10 episodes like last season. Here are my hopes for next season: More Jackie, Astrid, and Lenny. Less Joel, Archie, and Sophie. I'd like to see Benjamin back but I think they closed the door on that, though now that's she not going on tour, who knows. I appreciate the diversity that season 3 brought with Shy and his band and Mai and her family but there was way too much focus on Shy, a character who was seen only once last season. I'd like to keep the Mai character around but that just means more Joel, ugh.
  5. The chemistry between Lenny and Miriam, wowza! She didn't go into his room and that's probably for the best. Can't say I would've done the same. I can't be the only one who finds his character incredibly alluring. He's sexy with a dash of melancholy. Perfect for a one-night stand.
  6. "Moishe elbowed me with his elbow! His big bony elbow!" The phone call with Abe and Rose talking to Miriam is the first real laugh out loud moment I've had this season.
  7. I never got the vibe that Rose was from Oklahoma. She strikes me as a definite East Coast person. She seems more likely to be from Providence, Rhode Island than Providence, Oklahoma. I guess the writers thought this was a quirky little back story but it felt off to me. In fact, the whole show seems a little off to me. I was really excited for season 3 and now I find myself checking the clock to see how much time is left in each episode.
  8. Pretty satisfying ending though I'm not sure that I like Beth Ann and April as BFFs raising a kid together. While April was nice to "Sheila" she was not a good person to Beth Ann; she was having an affair with her husband and didn't give a shit that he was leaving his wife for her. She showed absolutely no remorse for her affair and when she learned about who "Sheila" really was went to the house to confront Beth Ann. I would've rather seen Beth Ann find a husband who really loves her and with a gaggle of step children and/or adopted kids.
  9. I feel like Beth Ann thought Rob's cheating had something to do with the rift in their marriage after the death of their child. Once the secretary told her the cheating had been happening even when they were a" happy family", Beth Ann knew he wasn't a flawed man just a horrible human being and had to die. I'm looking forward to his death the most. I forgot how ignorant people were during the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, it was really sad to watch Simone and Karl be shunned. I don't want Karl to die but this seems to be the way that story line is headed.
  10. As usual, the modern day story is boring me to tears. Lucy Liu's stuff was fabulous. I really like Karl so I'm sad to see he has HIV/AIDS because we all know the survival rate back then was pretty damn low. And what does this mean for Hector, Simone, and Tommy? They could all be positive as well. This is getting intense. Beth Ann's scenes were very good as well and I also thought she was going to fake a pregnancy before she blurted out that she had cancer. Faking cancer is probably easier than faking a pregnancy but if her goal is to keep Rob from leaving her I'm not sure if that's going to do it; he may see April and the new baby as an escape from the depressing life of having a spouse with cancer.
