Are you sure? Maybe I am going crazy because I could swear they announced a Fan Fave award after Kellee was voted out and we were all hoping Janet would win it. I think you had to vote on Instagram? Or maybe I really have just lost my mind.

I’m so glad that my office’s Christmas dinner was tonight so I could record the show and fast forward through most of it. What a crappy end to an exhausting season. Out of the final 3, I think Tommy deserved to win the least. Like, what did he actually do?! It’s bull that Noura didn’t get a single vote when she actually, in my opinion, played a better game and won more challenges than Tommy. But I’m going to chalk that up to her personality just being too....Noura.
I was so glad to see Lauren go. What an entitled brat, sobbing about how Noura said she was her #1 but didn’t choose her. Please...was Noura ever your #1? No? Then take a seat.
I’m just glad it’s over. This season has been emotionally draining and, while I genuinely appreciate all the intelligent, mature discussions we’ve had here, I really hope next season returns us to our usual light-hearted snark.

Ok, I have to admit that I was wrong. I actually think CBS and Probst handled that reunion show and the Dan issue very well. I appreciate that they acknowledged that they screwed up big time, now to see if they follow through. So much for the boycott rumors. It looked like everyone was there except Elizabeth. (Unless I just didn’t see her.)
I still think the Sia Money is a ridiculous addition to the show but I’m going to openly be a hypocrite here and say how happy I am that she gave so much money to such good people. Am I going crazy or wasn’t there supposed to be a fan fave award this season?
I want to hate the concept of next season simply because it means Sandra will no longer be the only multiple-time winner (unless she wins again) but, honestly, I am so excited to see some of these people again. I mean, Yul, you guys! YUL!!!!

Agreed. I will be shocked if the entire audience isn't filled with CBS interns.

Based on the numerous comments people have made about her over the course of this season, yeah, you must have 😉

First of all, Corinne and Russell are both vile human beings in general so any time they defend something, it's automatically tainted.
Secondly, what exactly is their point? Ok, fine, let's say Brandon was ejected (or "fired" as Corinne puts it). They don't do that for absolutely no reason. Maybe the show tried to help him save face by pretending the tribe wanted to vote him out instead of throwing up a card that said "Brandon was removed from the game because he was borderline psychotic, close to violence, and we feared for everybody's safety". But, ok, now we know the truth. Same actions, same consequences. Thanks for playing, Russell & Corinne.

It’s funny how Reem was so universally disliked at first and now she’s somehow become one of our most beloved castaways. 😂

It bothers me that People and other media outlets keep quoting Dan’s apology during the show with no context. For those reading in the media who don’t watch, or I guess may be foggy on the episode, it was like pulling teeth to finally get that out of Dan. And came after a long line of “I’m so sorry if when it was freezing outside and we were all shivering you felt like I moved to close to you” BS, along with grabbing Noura to demonstrate how innocent his touches supposedly were. After that whole tribal council, the apology he finally spit out at the end meant nothing. But reading those articles, it could pass as appalled at how others viewed him.
Not to mention, the article (or any of the articles) conveniently leave out the parts where Dan kept snarling "You're really not gonna let this go?!" before he gave his fake-ass non-apology.

Ugh! He's still acting like this was just a simple misunderstanding with Kellee, completely ignoring ALL the other complaints we saw several other women make about him.

*snerk* Poor Shii-Ann.
Switching tribes more often sounds like an interesting idea. In fact, I'd be interested in seeing a season where they switch tribes and start anew after every TC. I don't think I'd want that for every season, but it might be interesting as a one-off.

That doesn't appeal to me personally. Frankly, I'd like to see all idols disappear. I definitely don't want to encourage them by placing financial prizes on them.

Here's what I would LOVE to see: No tribes for a season. Everyone from day 1 plays for individual immunity. No tribe alliances. No pagonging. You get the picture.
Ditto! I mentioned this a few seasons ago and think it would be fascinating. There would be no forced alliances based on tribal obligations. I'd love to see it happen.

I went on the Facebook Survivor page (which is always interesting) and there is a number of people saying they're rooting for Dean. Dean! I'm missing something right?
I feel the same way. A friend of mine told me last week that Dean is her favourite and I was like whaaaaaa??

Oh I completely agree. I would never put Ted in the same category as Dan. Not even close for the reasons you mentioned. (I also remember Ghandia’s comment about Ted and how she was going to “punch his ass in the eye” which always makes me laugh.)

Only people in unhappy marriages commit sexual harassment?
Oh, definitely not! I think @Al Herkimer was wryly pointing out one of the excuses Ted gave as to why he couldn’t possibly have done what Ghandia claimed he did. I believe another one of his excuses was “I’m not even attracted to you!!” 🙄

I’m really angry at CBS and all the producers involved in this trainwreck: partly because of the way they handled this situation, but mostly because they may, in fact, have killed my favorite show.
Of course this is all secondary to the real world stuff that is going down, but I’m also angry at how letting Dan remain in the game for so long killed what started out as a great season. It seems so long ago but remember the first month of this season? When every week was a blindside and we were commenting on what a mature cast it was? That seems like a million years ago.
2 hours ago, gail56 said:On another forum I visit there is someone who is somewhat of an insider. He says he has heard that Dan is suing and that it is the final 4 who are supporting Dan and are threatening to boycott the reunion. So that rumor is out there and not just with Varner. How true it is remains to be seen.
First of all, fuck Jeff Varner. (That goes without saying but I felt the need to say it anyway because, seriously, fuck that guy.) Would the final four really break their contracts and lose, not only their money, but set themselves up for a countersuit from a major corporation? And would they really want to attach themselves to Dan rather than distance themselves from whatever rabbit hole he would drag them down? I’ll take it with a grain of salt until I actually see it happen.
That being said, if it is true, and all Dan’s cronies want to boycott, I’m totally fine with them bumping the non-Dan supporters up to the final 3, having a live vote with a teeny tiny jury, and giving the money to one of them instead. I wish we could give this year’s million to Reem.
1 hour ago, blackwing said:I don’t get why Rob tried to get Dean to take the deal by saying “you’re risking your vote, that’s a big move that you can impress the jury with”. Every single person who went to the island except for Janet risked their vote. So I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
You know Rob was praying for that coin to land on “no” so he could grin that charming grin and tell Dean what a dummy he was.

Welp, guess Dan's son has to change schools. Good job, Father of the Year!
I find it disheartening to see so many still putting the onus on Kellee even though it has been explained so many times over the past few weeks exactly why it should never be up to the victim. I think Kellee has made it very clear in her postings that she thinks Dan should have been removed from the game and she's very unhappy with how TBTP handled the entire situation.
I do mourn the loss of Dean potentially playing himself right out of the game with Jamal's fake advantage. That would have been so beautiful.

Remember in season 1, where the reward they got was 1(!) candy bar, to split between 6 people? And that the clue for that reward was a can of dog food, which both tribes ate because they were hungry?
Totally remember the candy bar but I completely forgot about the dog food! Ah....the good old days.

I mean, I don't like Dan but there's nothing wrong with that sentence. It's not the most idiomatic but it does make sense.

I know. I think I would die of shock if I went back and watched the early seasons again. The contestants are majorly spoiled now compared to back then. Wait until Season 3 when someone becomes Public Enemy #1 because he eats 2 cherries instead of 1. (Sorry: SPOILER lol) Personally, I do think watching people starve was interesting. But I'm one of the few people who actually misses the whole survival aspect of Survivor, where rationing your food was part of the game.

I'm going to have to disagree that people here only support Janet & Elaine because they're getting a good edit. That implies that the others are getting a bad edit, as opposed to their actual behaviour being shown. People here are very savvy when it comes to reality tv and fully understand the editing tricks.

Same, I don't remember any of the numbers past season 3. Google is my best friend.

For the record, nobody is lecturing you. You claimed that Janet didn't have to overcome obstacles to break into a male-dominated profession and that's what people are responding to.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I said her behaviour was despicable, not that she was a despicable human being. I also didn't say that Elizabeth was promoting the season, I said she was promoting that one specific episode, the one episode that she absolutely should not have been proud of.

Survivor In The Media
in Survivor
I cannot believe Jeff Varner used to be one of my favorites. First of all, there is literally nothing new in his blog post. He’s simply recapping things from the show and referencing the same articles and rumors we’ve all heard. Secondly, he clearly has an agenda as he’s still trying to convince people that we were gaslighted and he really didn’t out Zeke or whatever he’s claiming. And finally, even if everything he said is true (and I guarantee you it isn’t), he’s still a piece of shit because of this:
No, dipshit, it was NEVER ok to be an overly affectionate man. Women have NEVER wanted to be groped. Why is this such a difficult concept for some men to grasp? God, I hate him.
