A great in so many things.

Ron Hale was such a fascinating presence onscreen, especially at GH as a kind of man of mystery and regrets. The recast was never the same to me.
-
I happen to agree with KM that she had more chemistry with Miller and should've stayed with Drew, but that's a story preference. Kelly tanking her storyline at the time, publicly making a fuss BTS, etc. and having the show penalize her for that behavior is a story in daytime that's as old as the hills with many actors who get in trouble with the brass over the years at various soaps, and it's not going to get FV fired. Only a much bigger scandal or widespread outcry among the cast and crew (or ratings issues) will do that.

Carly is gonna join the DVX or Al Qaeda when she finds out. Or both.

Exactly, Sam is a Cassadine. Death is just a pit stop for them. That being said I doubt it will happen any time soon, if ever. Sam has been a spent character for many years to me.

Jonathan Jackson is back on a long-term contract, so I'm not seeing how their reunion would mean Becky is out.
-
She'd have to be high as fuck!

I'm pretty sure Jake would remember Lucky. I remember when he came back with the original kid in the role, and both Jonathan and Greg Vaughan had plenty of hours clocked with him as well as Cam. Much like Jake and Drew, the Cam (and Jake) treatment re: Lucky has been reductive since Jonathan left. Zander was never a factor in his son's life but GH, like most modern soaps, leans on bio-parents for expediency's sake and sheer laziness. Not that I minded Chad Brannon appearing as a ghost (I would actually bring Zander back from the dead to cause drama for that family, c/o Witness Protection) but the Lucky/Cam relationship was real and substantive.

When I heard about this not long ago I groaned at the obvious casting choice, but Van does look good and seems in good humor in his new interview. I'll give it a chance, I guess. RC turned it down, BTW. I believe he's on contract.

I'm fairly certain that's at least part of what it is, though Finola's interview about it today suggests there's more to it. Still, this kind of thing isn't done on a soap unless they're playing with a romance option. And Jason and Anna have been thick as thieves for the better part of a year. It is a precursor to more unless they find another option for Steve.
-
Agreed. I'm sure Finola is open to it, but Anna wouldn't do it because of Robin and also because of who Jason is IMO, however weak they've too often made Anna over the last decade. But Steve is out of romantic or story options on the show, Finola is there so here we are!
-
That's a real 'turn the gun on myself' moment for me. I don't think Finola was forced to be paired with Steve nor would she particularly mind. But I mind!

They haven't fucked (yet) but they're definitely necking.

Welp!

I don't think they should recast Jax or that he's really needed as a character at this point, but I would be open to it given the unfortunate drama with Ingo and the dearth of interesting males. I would want someone both smoother and more harder-edged than this dude though, to differentiate from Ingo a bit on the latter (not unlike how ATWT reinvented Craig Montgomery with a recast, for better or worse). Mesure is too cuddly for me. It is very weird since that accent was basically his entire personality. I hope to God the Lois thing doesn't stick.

He is a glorified dayplayer. Like so much of the ensemble, as you say.

Honestly I'm just over the endless baby angst. T.J. and Molly have had some good drama recently but they've been on the show usually doing nothing but marking time for decades collectively, and neither actor exactly bowls me over. I just would write them out together and revisit Molly a few years down the road. This show needs a large cast cull. Brennan (again, international terrorist? double agent? I still don't know!) is clearly just a placeholder so Korte and co. can say Carly has a man, since bringing on Steve hasn't really worked there and it's clear neither party wants to go back to S&C Round 50. Waste of time to me and this show is often on borrowed time as is. Bring on a man of stature or A.J.

Please, no more Jordans. The character has never had a point other than to be there and each actress is worse, pour one out for poor Vinessa Antoine. Just bring on some Wards!

OLTL Outside Llanview: The Cast In Other Roles
jsbt replied to Chairperson Meow's topic in One Life To Live
It's a Llanview wedding! Eddie Alderson (Matthew Buchanan) tied the knot and a bunch of OLTLers were there. I count Brittany Underwood (Langston), Kristen (Starr), Nic Robuck (Gay James), RSW (Bo), Robin (Dorian), and of course KDP (Blair) and James DePaiva (Max). I feel terrible not knowing who the Black guy is but I think he may be from the crew, who knows! (These are not my tweets btw, I don't Twitter.) -
I'll eat my hat if they ever have Jason and Anna fuck. If that happens you know they're scrambling with Steve. If they could please stop throwing every attractive and talented Black man who comes on this show at possibly the worst actor on the show and instead learn to dump failed characters/actors and create all-new characters of color (big lift, I know Frank), that would be fantastic. I haven't forgotten poor Zeke! There's generations of Wards out there.

The music is giving Jabba's sail barge. I expected Salacious Crumb to pop up on Anna's shoulder.
-
Not since she took over the role from a child in the late '70s.

This "African club" set is a Choice.
-
If it's a triangle with Joss, Dex and Gio I have my money on Dex picking Gio. I'm just saying. He's at least as pretty as Joss.

I am barely watching atm til Lucky and Laura, etc. reunite but damn, JJ and Becky still got it. And I was not one of their stans back in the day. As I've said before, their romance was too saccharine for me when they were young. Not anymore. GH is once again doing one of my pet peeves though, something that has plagued Frank Valentini's soaps since OLTL. They too often have characters talk shit out in dreams or hallucinations or whatever and then never get around to the actual discussion IRL because Frank needs another handful of 90 second scenes for Violet, Carly or Jason. The attitude becomes 'you got those fantasy scenes, right?' (This is the same lazy attitude that governs stuff like only focusing on Lucky's biological child vs. the other two sons he actually raised.) No! So whenever LL2 do link up again for real they better get to business.
