I figured something like this would come out. Nobody is that perfect, but lying about it? You know it’s going to come out and you’ll end up looking worse.

It’s so disappointing! I’m hesitant to tell my husband. He really likes this show and is going to be crushed!!!! 😉

Same here!  This is the first Bachelor show my husband has watched with me. Now I will probably never get him to watch again.

  2. OMG, Marlo Thomas.  She has done so much good for St. Jude's Hospital - but what has she done to her face?  I saw her this morning on Today and she looks horrible.  She has had so much facial surgery that she is unrecognizable. Her nose - is has a Michael Jackson look about it. Why cannot people just accept aging gracefully, why do they want to ruin their appearance?

  3. You know, like many of you, I watch plenty of CNN and MSNBC.  I am exposed to what is going on in the world currently.  I welcome a little relief from talking about the news - The View spends a lot of time talking about politics and current events and I like that.  But there is nothing wrong with a little light topics here and there.

I have a SIL who is not on any social media and only watches British TV programs.  She rolls her eyes if you talk about anything else, she knows almost nothing about pop culture - oh and she lets you know it is beneath her.  Frankly I find that behavior boring and rude.

  4. She (Nicole) has been out for the last few days, there is no explanation.  I hope she is ok.  I certainly have noticed her coughing lately.

And if the golden bachelorette is in her 60s, she’ll only get applicants 70+ who are looking for someone who will do the cooking, cleaning and generally looking after them and their health issues.

Don't agree. My husband and I are both 73, he is watching the show with me and we talk about it.  I really think if something happened to me he would probably want to find someone and that's ok.  (After an appropriate time, of course!) He enjoys travel and going out on weekends, spending time together at home. Much nicer when you have someone to do that with.

We live in a 55+ community (not the Villages) and there are some very active, vital people here. When women get together they inevitably say if their husband died, they are DONE.  I always say it's easy to say that when you are not in that situation. Life can be lonely when you are alone.  Yes, you can travel with girlfriends but it's different.

Saying old men want a nurse ... well, hey, you may need a little help yourself at some point. It can go both ways.

  6. I feel that if Joan had been able to stay, maybe she would have been chosen at the end.  Maybe I am a horrible person, but I still feel there is more to the story than her leaving because her daughter needed her. Is the daughter a single parent, no husband/partner?  This would not have lasted forever, I don't know how long they were away from home total. Joan seemed very matter of fact, said that now she was looking forward to getting out there and meeting someone. Maybe she truly didn't really feel "it" for Gerry.

It was uncomfortable watching Faith sobbing.  She seems so wounded.  And the dress - she looked desperate.  And - she actually said at one point she didn't want to leave the area where her horse is buried.  Really? It's a HORSE.

  7. LOL I'm 73.  I remember watching the very first Bachelorette in 2003 (20 years ago!).  I remember thinking how pretty Trista was and comparing myself to her and falling way short - how stupid - then her mother showed up and, duh, I realized I was her mother's age.  Talk about denial. Crazy wake-up call.

I don't really see a proposal at the end of Golden Bachelor.  I see him saying something like, I love you, blah blah blah, let's see where this goes. I wonder if Gerry is capable of getting down on one knee to propose?!  And then getting up again, that is the problem.

Loved this post as it is so true.  My Son worked for United Airlines and gave us free passes to anywhere in the world.  I’ve always wanted to go to Italy.  I declined as I had two in college at the time and didn’t want to spend the money in  Europe.  Time went by .. we both had back surgeries, etc.  No traveling.  So sorry I didn’t take advantage when I was in my early sixties.  Now, in our seventies, traveling is very hard, especially walking.  Do it now when you all are fit.  P.S.  Out of the blue, my husband had a heart attack and open heart surgery.  That kept us in the house for a long time.

We're in our 70's and did a Viking River cruise in Europe a few months ago.  There was an 11-hour flight and then a LOT of walking. It is exhausting, but we decided that if we wanted to do this again, it has to be soon.  It will just be too difficult in a few years. It was indeed a wake-up call. We are doing another one next year. We'll pace ourselves - just not ready to stop doing things we love. Not ready to retire to the couch quite yet.

Sounds like Theresa has interests besides the grandchildren:

Theresa loves singing alone in her car, '70s rock music and her grandchildren...

...Theresa is a financial services professional who describes herself as "optimistic, encouraging and ready to love again after loss," the show says.

She's close with her children and grandchildren, and enjoys playing board games, gardening, reading romance novels and hula hooping. She's also a self-taught stock market aficionado.

I just think ... after only knowing this guy for one month, she said to him (on the ferris wheel), I don't think I can live without you.  I cringe.

I agree with others, Gerry is totally all about how they look at him, touch him, etc.  He will want to be the center of the life of whomever he chooses.

What's that saying? "People will forget what you said to them but they will remember how you made them feel." I think that is especially true for men. They want someone who makes them feel good about themself.

I thought it was funny when Gerry asked Faith if the horses would bite him.  He did ok, but clearly he is not a horse-guy.

Theresa didn't bug me as much this time, but wow is she coming across as desperate. The look on her daughter's face when Gerry said he didn't know how he felt about her. And she goes to her daughter's house EVERY DAY?  She needs to get a life and hopefully if she is not chosen she will realize that now. I'm about her age and there is a lot more to life than just seeing family every day. I thought her hometown visit dress was too short (my husband did not agree) but her rose ceremony dress was nice. Was it Faith in the black dress?  Did not flatter her, her boobs looked pretty saggy.

  11. The statement, find someone you can't live without - that's a nice sentiment.  However, was it Leslie who told him she can't live without him?  Really? Wow, if someone told me that early in a relationship I would want to run. And I would never say it. And the over-sharing about past relationships and being hurt so many times.  Do they not realize they come across as damaged?  We've all been hurt but you don't have to put everything out there in early days. I'm not saying to lie or put up a false front, but when they start crying about how they have never had someone who really cares about them - red flags!

  12. Overall I am enjoying this season, but I agree that Whoopi should not sit there rolling her eyes looking bored. I also have to say that although I like Ana, I enjoy the program more when she is not there. Yes, they are all opinionated, but she is very not open to hearing another side to the point of being rude sometimes.  Dismissive and, nope, she is not about to change.

I also like the way they are dressed most days, color-coordinated.  Nice on the eyes.

Ana and Alyssa really just don’t mesh do they? Or is it just an Ana thing cause whenever she goes on a tangent, I sense the table shift.

I agree.  I also noticed that when Sunny was talking about how reading Jada's book changed her opinion, Ana really went off and wow, if looks could kill, Sunny looked very pissed at her as they went to commercial.  I've heard all I want to hear about Jada and Will too, but I think in this case Ana was rude, Sunny does have the right to express her opinion.  I like Ana but I sense that she is extremely opinionated and tends to be a bit of a bully in the table talk. Raises voice and continues talking non-stop. I know someone like that in real life and believe me, they are draining to be around.

Was today's show live?  Because if it was there is no excuse for Sunny's daughter to call her between 11-12. Surely Paloma knows how to tell time.

I assume it was live because they spent quite a bit of time talking about the attack in Israel. I'm on the west coast so it's not live here.

  15. Sunny's cell phone ringing during Arnold's segment.  She says, "Oh, I'm sorry, that's my daughter."  Are you shitting me?!  Her daughter calls during a live taping?  Who would do that? Whoopi looked pissed and I don't blame her.

For all the clutter and excess of the homeowner, what bugs me most about Hilary is that her finished closets have VERY LITTLE CLOTHING in them. Yes, certainly pare down, but come on, she leaves so few clothes in there. What happens to the rest? Do most homeowners only have a 1/2 full closet of clothes? I'm speaking as someone who does NOT have a walk- in closet.

Yes, I wonder about that too!  It's ridiculous.  Clearly it's staging.  And that storage shed out in the backyard for her many clothes and boots.  I'm sorry, even if it is a brand new storage shed, I am not going to store my clothes and shoes outside.  Spiders!  And other crawly things!

Odds of it all being back the way it was before Hillary started in, say, six months? I'd say even. I'm not even halfway through the episode and wow, was that homeowner oppositional. The giggling drove me crazy. Sure, they didn't have enough time to clear things out - I wonder if they were expecting the crew to just clear out the rest. That shed...so much stuff. Hilary may be short on the sugar but she clearly has patience. (also, I am so tired of that commercial...)

That is so true, when I see the homes after Hilary has redone them, all clean with things put away, etc., I figure it will just be a matter of time before they are trashed again.  And yes, very tired of the "sugar" commercial.
