  1. iirc that chapter is like 200+ pages! tbh I thought the 'last battle' was weak AF.

Except for Lan and the Gateway artillery, for the end of an Age, it fell completely flat to me. I really thought Rand ending channeling altogether would have been his 'breaking'.

To be fair, when the Horn sounded, and Mat was like, 'ok, so we'll pull back and let you to it,' and Hawkwing replies, 'uh, yeah, no. That's not how it works.' Mat going all ffs was genuinely funny.

Anything with Mat being put upon was wildly entertaining.

I was afraid Randy and Liane were going to hook up while getting high. Glad it didn't happen.

No, I was totally hoping they would make out.

I did like the appearance of PC Principal and the overall cold hard facts about getting vaccinated. This shouldn't be a topic, but it is.

I like when Randy talked about his partner, he meant Towlie and not his wife.

I love the opening theme song, and when it comes to Towlie - I got so much weed, and I don't know what's going on. It just takes out of the song.

Oh, and Dennis often carries candy around to get Charlie's attention. Seems right to me.

I liked that Charlie knew and was focused and didn't really fuck around. He was late to the teacher's office, but I can't really fault him for that since they got embroiled in Dee Day.

The whole bird watching almost made me piss myself because they had to dress up too.

I love Howard, so I was thrilled Bill gave him 15 minutes.  I could have gone the whole hour with just Howard.

I'm old enough to have been around when Stern was talking on the FCC. I'll listen to him for 20 minutes. I actually think he's much more genuine than Bill. I was dying when he kept on with the 'so tell me about these girlfriends.'

I would not have a problem voting for a moderate Democrat and I like her policies, but I'm really sorry to be so shallow, Klobuchar is just sexy.

I did like her point that we have so much drama on the white house that she's offering stability and calm. She should really lead with that - I'm an adult. I won't do all this ranting.

I did laugh when she said the staff told her she needed a viral moment and Bill yelled for Howard to come out.

Bill is a comedian and always will be. He'll be working the circuit in his 80s like Joan Rivers. If they canceled the show tomorrow, he'd still have gigs. I have zero problem with him hoofing off to Vegas. I'm sure he has these appearances in his contract anyway.

I mean even Stern pointed out - it's a full hour of live TV with two written monologues. I think HBO is satisfied with his commitment.

  5. I was unspoiled for the movie. It was at a laconic pace overall, but I liked it. I think it shouldn't be forgotten that Jessie was one half of the Heisenberg enterprise, and the reason he was taken hostage was because of that. He wasn't trading on that in this sequence of events because he just wanted to escape, but I think for the most part, except for Forester, everyone else was reacting to that. Which is why I think the idiot welder challenged him to a shootout.

Clever to hide money in the fridge.

Nice cameo from Cranston too. Who's to say Jessie doesn't end up in college? He took Mike's advice to go to Alaska, so maybe he takes Walt's too.

Though Walt died, and I think he 'got away with it' technically, but he is dead, and from what we know of Saul, I think Jessie got as happy an ending as one can in all of this. I think that was the right call for this movie.

I did like the snippets from the news to tie into the end of the show. Jessie seemed actually disappointed when he heard Walt died over the radio.

  6. 26 - Mrs. Tweak

    26 - Ugly Bob

    13 - Stan

    13 - Manbearpig

    13 - Maggie Yates

6 - Michael the Tall Goth

    4 - Mr Mackey

I don't know who Ugly Bob and Yates are.

Good thing no one got the Tenormans.

  7. I'm not a super fan. I've read the series thoroughly enough, and I will likely check out the show. I just don't want it to be so overhyped that it falls flat for the non-book viewer. I also don't really avail myself of out of show media.

I'm sure we'll have a lot of discussion when the show airs. I am interested in how they're going to structure the actual narrative because it's *enormous*, and they've got to cut out a ton else it's going to be a grind. Like, I don't care if the Seanchan are largely in the background.

I caught Airplane recently on TV, and I always knew that line was funny, but adult me finally realized what was actually going down.  The girl was trying to let the boy know that she wasn't interested and she was being polite like she was taught; but, homeboy missed all of her cues and just kept on talking absolutely oblivious to her irritation.

That and they were both 10.

  9. Great commercial for the monster trucks for smoking inside!

I liked the 'oh you're trans, you do what you want' too.

I liked how it just became a way to crap on Quagmire.

I figured. He basically admitted at the bar he sent her the video.

How's Waldo was a brilliant joke.

I can't say Quagmire was wrong about anything. Even Night at the Museum.

  10. Those guys were mean. Come on, Bob, you should know better. Why would you give them up? I'd be like, 'ok, we're walking home.' Or call Linda.

Normally Teddy is overly much, but the screaming for the pen cracked me up.

  11. I like how Five 0 isn't even remotely qualified for something like this but just immediately take over. OF COURSE there's no risk management protocols to inspect the rope or have a redundancy.

I was going to complain that Katrina Law was reduced to exposition on the phone, so I'm glad she just showed up and was active.

She's been more useful in 2 episodes than Adam ever.

I'm like - if the dog falls I'm flying to that set and punching out the producers.

Yes, fuck you Danno, the dog eats better than you. Call Dominos you whiny bitch.

It just felt like poetic justice that Randy would end up in a Chinese prison. With Winnie The Pooh. And then killing him with piano wire. Yes, he's really forbidden in China.

Soon as I saw Winnie the Pooh, I was dying.

The show has been on for literally decades. I don't mind them flipping it up to expand the storytelling possibilities.

Randy was kind of dumb being pissed off about everyone going to China on the plane though. They weren't actual competition. One guy wanted to boost NBA ratings. He should have partnered with him.

All that commentary on China was really spot on.

I cracked up more when Stan untucked his hair from his hat before he started singing than they were playing death metal.

Good quick line about how "PC babies cry at everything!"
