  1. Honestly, they missed so much during the hiatus..it was kind of sad to have him list all the things which happened during it.

The Lettuce was my favourite joke. Followed by the "drugs from Mexico" one, but that one was really sad. I mean...really??????

  2. Oh, regarding vacations and sick days: In Germany, you can stay at home with the "I have a cold" excuse" for up to two days, third day onwards you need a doctor attest (because if you haven't recovered from a cold in two days, you most likely have something more serious). Sick days are fully paid for up to six weeks, after that the "Krankengeld" jumps in and you still get 70% of your salary up to 90% of the net salary. You can also take sick days to take care of your sick child (under 12).

We also have both maternity and parental leave, the latter one can be taken by both mother and father for the first three years of your child's live. And unless the company gets insolvent while you are gone, they have to give you back your job (or a job with the same hours and same payment).

  3. Next to no country covers prescriptions completely. That is partly because there is such a huge range...it makes a HUGE difference if you pick a basic pair of glasses, or go for a design frame and glasses with all possible features. Hence if they are covered, they cover the equivalent to the cheapest pair of glasses possible.

  4. I want to address the "I want a choice" argument.

As a German, I have the choice which non-profit insurer I pick. The differences aren't that big between them, but I DO have the choice.

I have the choice which doctor I go to, it doesn't matter, my insurance will cover all of them.

I have the choice of requesting a second or even a third opinion if I want to, free of charge.

I have the choice to reject treatments, and don't have to worry about being able to afford them (well, minus dental, there the insurer covers the basic option, not the most expensive one)

I really don't have any idea what more choices someone could want, and I sure as hell have more choices than a standard American has.

  5. ...I don't think that the Jane as Thor Comic was cancelled...they had a story they wanted to tell, which was, if I understand correctly, actually more about Thor than Jane, and once it was finished they did what they always do and reverted back to the status quo.

That is btw the reason why it makes so much sense to adapt the story now, because Thor in the MCU is in the right mind-set so that the story would make sense.

  6. Quote

The first issue of Jane's run sold well (112,000), but sales quickly plummeted (down to 46,000 by issue 10 & hovered around 40,000 the rest of its run).  Once the novelty wore off the run sold very poorly.

Yes, I am aware. You are apparently not aware that it is normal for the first issue to sell way better than the later ones (since some people will like a new story and other don't, ir they lose interest at one point) and that the so called "plummeted down" sales were still better than Thor's usual sales, which is the bench mark here. don't make the mistake to compare numbers like this with, say, Spider-Man sales.

You should btw start watching some different youtubers. Or at least bother to check what people who have "nerd", "geek" and especially "gamer" as their username are telling you. Usually they mislead their audience with half-truths.

Re: The Gay couple: Well, I guess now that the Chinese market has basically been shut down, they have to do their maths without it anyway, just in case.

  7. Well, she never got a well written character in anything Fantasy related.

On a different note, has Disney gotten someone new to design their posters? The new New Mutant poster and the new Black Widow one look really cool. Usually their posters are more run of the mill and somewhat exchangeable.

  8. Can we take a moment to appreciate how clever the title of the show is? I mean "wandaVision" sounds weird but it hints at Wanda and Vision both being in the show, Wanda getting marriend and hence becoming technically "Wanda Vision", since this is apparently all a result of her powers, we also get to see Wanda's Vision, and we will get to see the Wanda version of various Television shows.

  9. The staircase doesn't quite match but I guess they could have simply gone for something similar instead of identical. I mean, it is not like Roseanne, where the set is still right there for them to use, right?

I might be wrong, but I think they only picked sitcoms which aired on ABC.

  10. I actually don't want Sam and Bucky to get along. I enjoyed them the most when they were bickering over who is Steve's Bestie.

But I approve of the hair cut. It just makes sense for Bucky to reclaim HIS identity instead of staying in the Winter Soldier style.

And Facebook is SO Roseanne. I will die on THIS hill. The plaid, the bushy hair, the pose she takes, even her facial expression is soooo Roseanne. Roseanne in her kitchen, to be precise. Look it up, it is clearly the wallpaper from the set….

I wonder if in her mindbreak every room in the house will look like it is from another sitcom….

  11. So, which shows are they parodying? I mean, the "Facebook" one is obviously Roseanne (which would be 1990s), and the LinkedIn one is something out of the 1950s, while the Tinder one is late 1960s/early 1970s...which I guess would mean that the Instagram one is either 1980s or a modern show?
