  1. Vader was great and showed why he is so feared in series and great villain in general. Reva is for me still kind of meh as rest of inqiusitors. Obi-Wan with Leia were great too. I kind of wonder how/when will Obi-Wan become Obi-Wan from ANH in terms of confidence and using Force. What annoyed me in this episode was that Reva somehow beat Leia to ship and didn't run into Tala on the way or that Vader let NED-B leave with Obi-Wan. It seems kind of sloppy writing and you can't just hand waved it.
  2. Her plan to lure Obi-Wan was good except for last part where she expected that 3 bounty hunters will capture Jedi Master and will hold him till she arrives. Obi-Wan didn't use Force/lightsaber for long time but that's something she didn't know and Obi-Wan still was able to free Leia without much issues(till she ran of). For me Reva is kind of meh with her over agressive personality, maybe when we get her backstory, it will change for me as we will know why she is this way. Overall I liked both episodes.
  3. In ANH Leia is stunned by stormtrooper, so someone figured it out. One would expect that bounty hunters would have several weapons/gadgets to stun their opponent in case that bounty would be for "bring alive".

    The Star Wars Saga

I think that problem wasn't that Johnson tried to be interesting but that he contradicted half of the stuff from previous movies(and Abrams did same in TROS). But it is more failure from Kennedy or others who should keep control on the story and not to give every director free hand beacause it lead to so many issues in the movies.
  5. Yes, this is mentioned in book that Empreror's soldiers(sardaukar) are superior soldiers due to harsh enviroment of Salusa Secundus. As Dune is even more hostile planet, fremens are considered by Atreides as potentialy better soldiers than sardaukars. In book they wanted to allied with fremens and recruit them to their army before Emperor-Harkonnen planned attack. In book are several parts where is mentioned that fremens ambushed sardaukars and killed them all with minimal losses on fremen's side. As mentioned above by other posters. Emperor was afraid of Leto's influence on other Great Houses and that Atreides army started to be on same quality(but smaller in numbers than Emperor's army) as sardaukar, which Emperor saw as threat to his position. Hence he allied secretly with Harkonnens to eliminate Atreides and prepared trap in form of Arrakis.
  6. Are people really trying now to play sexism card?
  7. I think even if she would never again work for disney and probably she will never make same money as under disney, she would be ok career-wise. Regarding lawsuit, I think both sides are coming across as petty and lawsuit is producing bad PR for both sides.
  8. Yes, Dreykov's daughter was missed oportunity and Dreykov was also underwhelming so that's reason why I consider BW weakest MCU movie regarding villains/antagonists, especially that Taskmaster's scenes were almost all in trailers or promo clips. Even Ross wasn't much used in the movie as I was expecting. Agree regarding accents, they fall on the stereotype that foreigners are speaking with (heavy) accent just to show that they are foreigners. What was more baffling for me was that Alexei from first 20 minutes is same person as Alexei in the rest of the movie. One was capable to act as undercover agent for 3 years and other was buffon who served as muscle in the team(and we didn't see much action from him in movie). Regarding lawsuit as opportunity to fight for "smaller" actors. Aren't % from box office offered usually to really big A-list actors or proven main actors in franchise? I.e. I can't imagine that Richard Madden would be offered upfront money plus % from BO for his first Marvel movie. Same for Paul Rudd and first Ant-man.
  9. On wikipedia is that BW made in BO cca 320M. According to Disney they made 60M from disney+ on opening weekend. This means that 2M people payed for BW on disney+. If we add that everyone watched with another 3 people, we will have 8M people who didn't go to theater. If ticket would be for 10$ it is loss of 80M from BO under assumption that everyone from these 8M would go to theater. So it seems that SJ didn't lost that much money from BO even with BW being on disney+. So even if she win this in court, her actuall compensation can be less than 10M.
  10. Well, if Hollywood Reporter is correct than I think that Disney leagally did eveything correct but morally they should give her some cut from Disney+(if it will be enough for SJ is another question because money from Disney+ for BW will be much lower than from BO). How they wrote in article - "The problem is that the contract doesn’t explicitly say “exclusive,” and as far as industry custom and what was understood by the parties, that was before a pandemic disrupted pretty much everything.". This part from SJ is quite unreasonable - In her complaint, Johansson suggests that Disney decided to release this film when “it knew the theatrical market was ‘weak,’ rather than waiting a few months for that market to recover.” BW was postponed several times and now Disney probably couldn't postponed again as their whole schedule for phase 4 and next phase will be also postponed. And if they had to choose between BW or Shang-Chi for only theatrical release, it is obvious that they will choose new superhero who will be part of MCU in next movies.
  11. Interesting point I saw on reddit was that as no one saw the contract, except involved parties, maybe the word "exclusive" isn't part of the contract but dispute will be over meaning "guaranteed theatrical release" or just "theatrical release" and if it means exclusive or not. Covid speed up model how movies will be released in future, theater and stream option on day 1, which is for consumers best option. Problem is that as no one could predict covid, movies were postponed and contracts or most contracts didn't count with streaming option. Question will be if studios are legally obligated to compensate actors/directors for streaming option as it wasn't part of the contract. I think that PR for both sides isn't good and most people just see it as multimilionare person and multibilionare company are fighting over money which are not critical for both sides. Disney are trying to play covid card, which is true(and it can tip court decision in their favour) but no one will buy that it is Disney's main concern even if it would be rarely true(which certainly isn't). SJ or her side is on other hand trying to present it as Disney's main reason to released it on Disney+ was way how to lessen her share from BO, which I think is actually byproduct and not direct intention from Disney's decision. Also I think it would be very difficult to prove that she lost 50+M as her side can't use previous Marvel movies as standard for BO success because this was before covid and other factors can play part(people wasn't interesed in BW movie, for some Marvel movies ended with Endgame, etc). Only example which they can use after covid is F9 I think.
  12. Regarding WB I read that they paid 200M to actors and directors to avoid this situation but it seems that WB wasn't legally obligated to do this as streaming wasn't part of the contract. From articles I read from SJ's side and Disney's side, it will be key factor if exclusive theater release was in contract and if there weren't some conditions when it could be released in another way(in one article is written that they released BW to disney+ withou justification so it kind of implied there were some conditions). If I understand well, SJ got 15M upfront and some % from BO but she is claiming that she lost 50+M due to Disney+. I would like to know how her side got to 50+M? We are still in covid situation so BW wouldn't make most likely more than 700M. I saw in one discussion valid point for Disney. In some areas theaters are still closed due to covid so disney+ was only option how they could see this movie. Some also claimed that they weren't comfortable with visiting theaters due to covid so they were glad for Disney+ as they wouldn't go to otherwise. So Disney can use this as some kind of justification. Also there was question if it was worth to push again release date for BW as entire Marvel schedule would be again delayed due to "glorified filler" movie. Another question for people with movie industry knowledge - can actors and directors really demand how studios will release movies(only theaters or theaters+streaming or etc) only on basis they will get less from BO when nothing is specified in contract?
  13. I think the key point will be if in contract is that movie will be released exclusively in theaters. If there is exclusivity than she will win even when loss of 50M is certainly exaggerated and she will probably get less money(question if she will work again with Disney in future). If there isn't explicitly said that there will be eclusive release in theaters than Disney are just assholes who took advantage of loophole in contract. Maybe question for someone with more knowledge in movie industry, would it be common that there would be specified in contract that movie would be released exclusively in theaters when contract for BW was signed few years ago when streaming wasn't so common as today?
  14. yes, there was this scene but really, they couldn't have blond Natasha at least for half of the movie or at least to have Natasha to be more careful and not just enjoy beer in pub and openly talking about being avenger in public when she is fugitive?
  15. I wouldn't loose time with inconsistencies or weird things in Marvel movies especially. I mean how their plan to switch Melina and Natasha in BW could work when Natasha is visibly smaller then Melina. Or why experienced agent as Natasha decided to change her looks at the end of the movie, etc.
  16. Yeah, it was strange if you take into account that Nat said in CA:WS that she thought that she is doing good when she defected to SHIELD. But here you have SHIELD ok with killing innocent people. In one comment I read, was said that they kind of glossed over Nat's regrets. Natasha sacrificed Dreykov's daughter as collateral damage which kind of cheapened that Taskmaster had legitimte reason to go after Nat but it end that she was controled. She left Yelena and thought that she was just ok. They could show some resentment from Yelena regarding this.
  17. I think it is not that he was supposed to be big threat(that happened when he suddenly announced that he can control/destroy world). To me he wasn't seem memorable enough. He is probably one of the weakest villain in MCU.
  18. I think it was inteded that Alexei was lying as he got pissed when the prisoner reminded that Captain America was in ice in 80s. Natasha knew only Steve as Captain so it wouldn't make much sense if he would meant someone else. I think it was little strange that Alexei had such fixation on Steve because Alexei was injected after Steve was under ice and then was in prison when he was found.
  19. This will be probably unpopular opinion but this movie was just ok for me. While it is good popcorn movie, it was just average MCU movie for me which serves more like filler before Phase 4 will start. Maybe it is because I had different expectations after all the promo for this movie as it will be more spy movie, action will be more "Bourne" style, etc. I enjoyed very much interaction between "family", which was best part of the movie and while Scarlett Jonasson put good performance, Florence Pugh definitely steal the movie for herself in my opinion. Rachel Weisz was kind of underused and I think that David Harbour enjoyed his role. Villains were weak in this movie which in my opinion hurt the plot. Dreykov was for me very disappointing as villain(I can control/destroyed world with one click) and who as typical stupid villain told his plan and how you can defeat him to hero. I didn't have problem with identity of Taskmaster but Taskmaster as character was also let down for me. Action scenes had sometimes too much cut for my taste and didn't flow as good as they could. Third act had in some scenes bad CGI for Marvel movie and after watching this movie, I am little surprised that Natasha died in Endgame after jumping cliff. Regarding after credit scene, it isn't common knowledge how Natasha died? I have to agree with Clint that Natasha remember Budapest very differently. Overall the movie tried to be in similar style as CA:WS but for various reasons wasn't as good. Movie came late as solo movie for Black Widow(best time was after CA:WS) and now it serves more as introduction for Yelena.
