  1. She probably just wanted surgery for the pain meds. All that talk about mobility was a lie; wheeling around her kitchen is all the mobility she wants. Those poor dogs.
  2. Got up early and re-watched because I couldn't sleep because of upset stomach. I was just reflecting what a sad waste of help and resources was Pauline. Then I read the post about her behavior with the dogs. Scary!
  3. That can is cute! Mine read "Folger's". I stand corrected about my snarky line about bacon drippings, after all I used to use them, especially for home fries and pork chops. Maybe I'm realizing that at an older age we just don't eat breakfast anymore, just coffee :(.
  4. Sorry, I meant not resorting to the microwaved stuff.
  5. Wow! you still actually pop popcorn.. Good for you!
  6. I've heard that about the "soft" wheat Southern flour being better for biscuits. I think it's called "cake flour" here.
  7. looking at them it might not have been a bad thing after all.
  8. Yes I was disturbed about that: it's not finished, it's lifelong, and I'm troubled by this attitude.
  9. No, actually being in the hospital didn't make me want to "let it all hang out" I actually got in trouble for going to the bathroom unaided (bed had an alarm) Dignity is where it is.
  10. When I had surgery and 3-day hospital stay nurses were kind enough to give me 2 gowns; fasten one in the back, one in the front for full coverage.
  11. We debated this in high school English class. Apparently it's correct to say "to go boldly" (don't split the infinitive) but to "boldly go where no man has gone before" sounds better.
  12. June and Mary make me emotional--hooray for them!
  13. Can't someone make a low-fat healthy casserole on this show! Just because pre-shredded supermarket cheese comes in 2-cup sizes doesn't mean you have to use all of it on given dish.
  14. Cats too. One year someone put m-80 (?) firecracker down the storm drain across the street. The whole house rocked with a ringing metallic "bang! as the plumbing shook.
  15. June's joy in her engagement to Mary is heartwarming. Blessings to them.
  16. Nooo! We really don't need you back in California.
  17. Just eat less. Poor Dillon looks kind of like a dissipated Ringo Starr
  18. it's all your fault and you should have done better.
  19. Hi Pounders! Just joining now. Oh, gosh, the "she-shed" commercial. I just don't liking seeing stuff burn down; it's just not funny. But Pauline is funny.
  20. Or the football-sized zucchini neighbors would bring over because they "had too much". Thanks, but no thanks!
  21. Thriftiness was a way of life, then. I don't miss the bacon-drippings coffee can. (We don't eat bacon anymore).
