Due to the pandemic we watch this on recorded delay several days after. My eating habit tonight was leftover steak thin sliced over mixed greens, a tomato, croutons and ranch dressing. At some point in the endless stalling, we both turned to each other and said “Just fast forward to the end.” This woman is so damaged. I truly feel for her. At the same time I’m amazed at her inner narrative. It is awful. Nothing is her fault or responsibility. Since we are on lockdown we’ll watch the rest. I might make cookies.

So we watched this tonight. Welcome to 2021 everyone! This is the classic scenario of claiming to want to change, but also making every excuse, ordering in massive amounts of food, etc. Earlier in the show we both predicted Samantha would ultimately fall back into excuses. At the hospital segment, Mr. Scratches turned to me and said “I’m sorry, I have no sympathy for her. I wouldn’t even read her a story.” I continue to think medical confinement, controlled diet, and psychiatric treatment may be a better long term approach with compulsive eaters. This show seems to illustrate how critical addressing mental aspects would be to recovery success prospects.

This made me think of that Hoarders episode with all the dried up dead cats in one part of the house. And I think you are right. The dead cats would have been eaten.
