Firstly I too would like to thank everyone who posted here... the live feed watchers especially for what they had to stomach while doing so. Thank you also for the education surrounding this show. And mostly for the "fall off the recliner" laughs! π€£ A few thoughts before I switch over to lurking on the Survivor thread... 1. I don't know whether Jackson is a "Jack-level" racist... I suspect probably unconcious bias at least. However I do know without a doubt that he is card-carrying SEXIST! Ugh. 2. I'm so happy Nicole won AFP. I think she'll do well moving forward. 3. I personally did not get the sense that Jack's apology was sincere. 4. "Cum dumpster" is the most vulgar and offensive thing I have ever read here. Look forward to seeing/reading you guys again next year. Thanks so much! π₯°

S28.E01: 2019 Season Premiere
Pass the Tequila replied to OnceSane's topic in Dancing With The Stars
Wendy Williams lol. Pins, plates and screws should be visible in an x-ray...as will scars when the cast comes off. Time will tell. James surprised me, sort of. He strikes me as someone who is here to compete. He put in the work and for me, was breathtaking to watch. I'm biased towards the Latin dances though. My girl Hannah B is in her element! I have a feeling she'll embarrass me, not so much with bad dancing but with the attention seeking lol. Kate! I hope she stays awhile just for her comedy. π -
I was surprised to hear some of the Jackson hate in the jury house, wow! As a newbie I wonder what factors the jury members have historically (over 21 seasons) taken into consideration that ultimately decided the winner? Have most of the winners been more likeable, or did they have good game strategy? Obviously both but which one matters more in the jury's eyes? I'm sure there are other variables that go into the equation but from a high level stance, I'm curious. The jury house segment was interesting, but I would not last one nanosecond in that house with those people. π€ͺ High school all over again lol.

Hoodooznoodooz - I feel sincere empathy for your situation. You seem like a very thoughtful person. I hope everything works out okay for you. I also hope there were some good takeaways from the show. You don't have to say either way. I'm glad you're here. π -

Love your username lol. I couldn't wait and binge-watched the whole season as well! And I'm now half way through a second round. Going back to rewatch, knowing more about them makes me interpret what they initially said with a bit more context. I'm thinking of Lauren and Sarah's power dynamics. So just curious...does that mean we can discuss any episode since we (posting here) are all on the same page episode viewing wise? I'll go ahead tentatively and accept this post being possibly deleted, and also apologise in advance to any lurkers. One thing about Mau that I wish was explored in greater depth (but I don't fault Dr OSS because he just isn't compliant to the process;)) was his constant need to argue semantics. What is that? Also why did he even bother going? Sounds like they've been through a few therapists and lasted no more than 3 sessions? (11 with this show). Does that speak to Dr. OSS's effectiveness in managing him well, that kept him involved longer this time? He doesn't strike me as a famewhore. Are they paid to do this? None of them seem like they really need the money or plan to shill on IG. Omg though, you guys, I'm so glad I found this show...and to read your perspectives. Thanks! π -
Lol! Another thing that I'll have to learn how to do! (btw if anyone has messaged me, I have no idea sorry!) Anyway @ Xkhanx... love your whole post! I agree. π

I agree with you @Melina22...I usually do. π I realised though that you're right, I'm muddling some topics, sorry. This all confuses me at times lol. I have to admit that I'm a hypocrite too sometimes unfortunately. I feel bad for posting the tourette's like unfair comment about Kat! Granted I fell for the terrible edit she was getting, and dumb blond didn't have anything to do with her sleeping with someone casually. I already hated Jackson so much, she got collateral damage. π I actually really grew to like her and in particular her "faking it" comeback comment to Jackson was brilliant! π€£π€£π€£π€£ So it's not just the hilarious new BB terminology that I'm learning but also forum etiquette. This has been a great discussion forum. My tendency though is to not engage very often in differing opinions...everyone has one and some of them are actually very enlightening. So thanks y'all! π

Before I address this, I just need to make it clear that I don't believe Holly deserves to win. Nor do I respect all of her actions. It's more a case of I'm tired of women's choices re sex being measured with a completely different yardstick than is used when judging men's actions. This is still "normal" in 2019, I get it, but I'm an unapologetic feminist lol and I'm just hoping that by bitching about it, amongst other things, it might help things change. Re Holly's degree of upset when her and Jackson's whatever you call it, ends? I'm not in her head, so what do I know? I would think some of her words/actions are because it is a game. *I'll elaborate below. But I've also heard her casually describing her feelings towards Jackson too. On some level, she has to display/pretend some seriousness about the "relationship" for her reputation (and her conservative family) to manage her brand. *Also I think a lot of what she says could be jury mgmt and/or geared towards advancing herself in the game. She sucks at it though. Anyway, Jackson benefited from her comp wins too, so they've been sycophantic for awhile now. Maybe she will be an unfunctioning wreck? I just don't see it though...nor do I overly care, to be honest lol. Like a previous poster mentioned...there's some financial gain to being "followed" on social media afterwards. I'm pretty sure it'll be milked for every nickel regardless. π

That's my read on Mau too...and may I add, I found it disrespectful and offputting when he was wandering around the office picking things up and just sh*ting all over this process. It felt a bit passive aggressive towards the therapist and Annie. I'm glad neither one of them took the bait to give him the attention/control. Going in with his mindset was dooming the process from the get go. Annie will be much better off without him, and I can't help but wonder if waiting for the kids to grow up is a good enough reason to subject herself to more of him? I wouldn't last past the first date or encounter with him. Sarah and Lauren - I think/hope this couple will make it. I thought Sarah's insightfulness to be really impressive. Lauren's description of where she was coming from was very educational (for lack of a better word) to me. I'm rooting for them. Elaine and DeSean - Elaine can veer towards the dramatic at times but I totally couldn't blame her given her backstory. DeSean seemed like a nice enough guy deep down (and kinda hot lol), and I was glad to see him realise that his actions weren't helping things. Evelyn and Alan - their relationship seems salvageable? They seem to care about each other, but I'd like to see that car issue resolved. ps- hoodooznoodooz, thanks for the supportive words. I've come to realise and am okay with, this being a lifelong "work in progress" type of thing. I'm hardly done. I wish you all the best with your life decisions. Virtual hug with your permission as well. π -
Ya I just don't see her being all that crushed when they part ways. I imagine once the dust settles she'll feel more relief than anything else. Some of these young women are perfectly okay with casual hookups.. a little different from my generation in that they are now broadcast on the internet! Anyway, I initially (in week 1!) was a bit surprised to see any of these people complicating things by introducing sex into the game. But I loved Kat's dismissiveness about the whole thing when it was "over". Women aren't always victims.

Sadly this is not the first time I've read this sentiment. To me she deserves half a mil for hazard pay. Jackson is a nightmare, but he deserves the win. He'll mess up his own life even more after this is over...if he doesn't use part of his winnings on therapy. Holly has a better resume than Nicole. Sorry I can't forgive Nicole her waffling on her word waaaay back during Camp Counsellor times. She's been led around by the nose too much. So has Holly but still. I rooted for Cliff initially for emotional and age bias reasons. As the season went on, for example his disheveled appearance while voting...I felt it was contrived. I don't blame the guy for trying and being selfish, but don't pretend that you aren't. Bleh. Also, I want to thank the poster who included the link to the jury house BB comics reveal. What an eye opener. That f'n Jack! Ruling the roost over there. I hope the producers keep his screen time to a minimum, unless it's to drive home again how truly offensive he is. I suspect Jackson's acceptance speech and everything else from now on quite frankly to be insufferable.. because it looks like he's got this in the bag... in this newbies opinion anyway. I'll watch next season...now that I've gotten past the wtf moments while reading here eg "fishcam", "kittehs", "meatshield" and "survival sex". Omg. All things new to me now post watching this my 1st US BB season. I'll see if I can figure out live streaming for next season.

Hi! Thanks for the referral to Esther Perel. βΊοΈ Yes, not being mean, but Mau frustrated me a little too. I have seen the episode where Dr Orna is describing to her mentor/support Dr, some stuff about him not wanting anyone to "mess with his system" as a survival tactic. Some of their background traumas are so heartbreaking.. and relatable. Glad to have found the show and the forum. π -
Couples Therapy (2019) - General Discussion

Hi! I'm so glad you posted! I don't know what kind of place this is going to be, to post in. The reason I say this is because I am relatively new to the Primetimer forum, and traditionally post in (and guilty pleasure enjoy) the lighter fluff and occasionally snarky forums. But I don't want to here. I think this is an important and more serious show. I guess we'll just have to see. So anyway to get back to replying on point... I agree with you entirely. I was telling my mum, I am so struck with how brave they are. How human. I am not even in a couple and I relate and empathise more than I ever expected. And it wasn't all grim. I liked being able to laugh with them too. You're right about (paraphrasing) the therapist being a key component to effective therapy. But may I also add, that as someone who has had therapy off and on for over 3 decades, it wasn't until I was ready to do the work, combined with a village of mental health care providers, these past 3 years or so that I have noticed an incredible turn for the better. My life was completely off the rails and didn't involve any type of substance abuse issues (despite my username lol) so I found my treatment options were a little "off". I think these experiences are so individual and unique with many variables...but I'm haven't researched stats on the subject or anything. π Yes you're right! What a great doggers...his/her presence would immediately relax me and make me like the stranger Dr. That's personally speaking. I know some people are afraid of dogs, so I wonder if Dr O SS (thanks for the laugh!) mentions this prior to booking an appointment. I would assume so? Again so glad to read your post. π -

I'm just going to assume that it is, because I can't find it anywhere else. If I end up talking to myself...well that wouldn't be new lol. So I stumbled across this show completely by accident.. and what a pleasant surprise! It seems as close to "reality" tv on this subject from what I can tell so far. I'd say that I don't advertise nor hide my experiences with mental health/therapy, but understand how scary it is to navigate and/or talk about. I do hope traffic picks up here, because I'd be interested in other's views about the Dr (Orna somehing, sorry)... and the different couples. I was immediately 110% engaged watching this and surprised and almost disappointed when the episode came to the end...so quickly! But I think it's good that it's only half an hour...lots of content to think about afterwards. I just hope they don't ruin it .. and also that they consider a second season. I really like this show a lot so far. -
Thanks @Melina22, @iMonrey and @HighMaintenance. I guess they don't tell the HGs not to swear on live episodes? I curse like a sailor myself sometimes, so not judging...but I'd like to think I can follow instructions (except Ikea) lol. I just wasn't sure if I was missing good intel...π
