  1. Yeah, Jocasta absolutely came off the worst of the jurors.

She totally seemed like a "Judgey Judy", what with the rant about "Fake-Praying" and all.

The only way I couldld've been happier with Frankie not winning the Fan-Favorite was if the Chenbot just turned to him and said "Overwhelmng No." (Cuz that REALLY should have been his first clue that he wasn't even in the running for Favorite Hamster.)

  2. That's it; this show. THIS SHOW!

Is it just me, or does everything about this show just scream "LOW RENT!" this season?

Tyra's boots should get a "0", but I guess that's not allowed? And her "rant" to Matthew? UGH. But the best bit was Tyra lecturing SOMEONE ELSE about diction, of all things! If I were Raelia, I would have gone OFF at that moment.

I was shocked that Ben was booted; he struck me as one of the few men with actual modeling potential... Though you wouldn't know that from the weird-ass weave they gave these people this episode (and Ben, in particular looked like a giant skunk.)  And Tyra of all people lecturing about "Incomplete flip"? BWAH HA HA.

And Mirjana is the EPITOME of low-rent.

Tyra is clearly grooming Denzel for the win; it's absolutely clear that she wants a man to win after the debacle of last season.

  3. I bought a PS4, and the selection is a bit low for my tastes right now, though the library is growing.

I've beaten "Murdered: Soul Suspect" as well as "Infmaous 3" (whihc was the reason I bought the system.)

I may get an Xbox1 for "Sunset OVerdrive" when that comes up, even though I'm not a real shooter-fan.

  4. My fondest RPG memory goes back to first the "Final Fantasy" (for ORIGINAL NES) series, and then to "Phantasy Star" for the Sega master system. (When Phantasy Star 3 came out, and you could have GENERATIONS of characters? Mind.Blown.)

I also love, love, LOVE the old SSI Gold-Box D+D games. (Silver Blade, Azure Bonds and Pool of Radiance.).

I'm also a sucker ofr any horror-based games (esp. ones with a Lovecraftian feel to them.)

And who can forget "EARTHBOUND" for the SNES?

  5. I do think this year's flavor-of-the-month seems to be Brenton Thwaites. Check out his IMDB listing- he went from relative obscurity to somehow booking major movies in a really short time. He has a great tan and adorable puppy eyes but I haven't seen either Maleficent or The Giver so I can't judge.

Having seen "The Signal", "The Giver" & "Maleficent", I'm been pretty impressed with Brenton overall.  "The Giver" was clearly the breakout role for him, even if the movie itself did mediocre.  HE totally captured the innocene and naivete of Jonas, while still holding his own against a cast of big-name stars.  (And he's AT LEAST as good as any of his Aussie peers [i'm looking at you, Worthingon and Hemsworths!])

  6. I'm not sure what it was about this film, but it really captivated me. (To be fair, though, I've been a huge fan of the book since it's publication.)

I thought the casting was spot-on.  Katie Holmes and Taylor Swioft were both excellent, even though their roles were miniscule.  And Brenton Thwaites, aside from being utterly adorable, absolutely captures the essence of Jonas, depsite the fact that book Jonas is a good 6 (or so) years younger than movie-Jonas. (He also had parts in "Maleficent" and "The Signal" all out earlier this year.)

And the dream-like style of the film, coupled with the startling usage of colors just added to the richness of tapestry.

  7. Funny, I thought Dylan O'Brien was sub-par in this; he seemed very uncharismatic and wooden. Having seen "Teen Wolf" I defintietly expected more.

And the lead female (who I can't remember the name of currently) seemed very "Poor-Man's Kristin Stewart", which is saying something....

Otherwise, I thought the supporting cast was good (I've been a WIll Poulter fan for some time, so it's alwasy good to see him on the screen!!), and the CGI for the monsters was good, but the movie itself just kinda limped along, IMO.

  8. On a completely shallow note, I found Matt Czuchry extremely hot all episode. Unshaven, with messy hair and casual clothes really works for him. He really sold his desperation and panic all episode. I look forward to seeing him get A-list storylines this season.

I'm swimming in the shallow-end, too, then!

I still like the character of FIn; I hope they can play it out where he and Alicia still manage to maintain a healthy friendship depsite their obvious difference. I think Matthew Goode is a great addition to the cast. (But I really don't want see a "Willicia" storyline redux, cuz that would kinda suck.

  9. Then later, she punishes a guy for doing the pooch, or whatever she called it, too well.

Meushell, I can lend you my “Tyra to English” dictionary if you like. (Though I’m still working on the 2014 edition, so you might miss some of the nuances, since she makes up fake-ass craziness every freaking episode!)

Social Media Votes should be a non factor or maybe something that can be used to save them if they are going to be voted off but have the highest social media vote they get one last chance to photoshoot

I like this idea; use it as a sort of “Life-Line” or “Tie-Breaker” or something.

The only commercial I thought was remotely sexy was Will and Matthew's. Everyone else was just so over the top and/or awkward, and I totally agree that the tightie-wighties have got to go.

Given that this is network TV, I’m not sure what else they could so. Thongs/G-Strings are clearly out (During the “Nude Photo Shoot” they used them, and there was a LOT of blurring going-on!), and they likely wouldn’t want to pay the rate to get a major underwear line (like Ginch Gonch, 2xist, etc.) onboard.

The pimping for the Line App just seems egregious, more so than the product-placement from past seasons.  (Eitehr that, or this bunch of hamsters are worse actors than in previous years!)

After rewatching the last few eps, I find Mirjana to be more and more distasteful, lowbrow and uncouth.  She really does seem to equate “success” with “obnoxiousness”.

  10. Wow, those judging scores are totally manipulated.  (I mean I knew it, but you just KNOW someone was telling Tyra "OK, you need to give this model a "1" to get the result you want." (Though I do think she really truly hates Lenox.)

And these staged "fights" are totally ridiculous if you actually look/listen to them. "You're no model! You're no runway model! You're not even a high-fashion one!"  UGH, Seriously? STFU.

Also? ANother good reason (beyond the obvious model-y reasons) NOT to have alcohol in the house. (I'm beginning to think some of the models are borderline alcoholics. (Plus, at least a few of the models are underage; that just SCREAMS "Bad Idea."

I love seeing Matthew and Will togehter; I think they're both adorable, and bring out the confidence that each other needs. Will started off shy and retiring, and since meeting Matthew his conjfidence has skyrocketed. (And kudos to Matthew for not being hung up on any sexuality issues.)  And? STFU, Mirjana. No-one cares about your narrow-minded opinions.

As an aside, I hate, hate, hate the photographers this season. All they do is screech like harpies at the models with little to no actual instruction, and then make snide comments about their abilities in their little commentaries.  Very much a bad gay stereotype.

And I'm over the macho posturing of Keith and Denzel.  You two can also STFU and fuck off. Douches.

And Tyra? Enough with your secret langauge; I feel like I need a "Tyra to English" dictionary when I watch this damn show.  "Peepng Booch/Tooch"? "Werk the Smirk"?  Seriously, it's bad enough that "Smize" seems to have been accepted!

  11. While I think Mara should be cut (she obviously can't handle that intense amount of pressure which is understandable), it shoulodn't be based on a clearly obvious behind-the-scenes malfunction.  The voting audience really didn't get a balanced presenation of her.

Miguel getting the pimp spot - RME. Still not drinking the Miguel Kool-Aid, producers. This guy does absolutely nothing for me and I hate that an actual good act will be sent home to make room for him. He was not good.

Doesn't matter; I think he's gonna be through tonight for sure, and then will be a runner-up to Emily West in the finale.

Now Mel is drooling over Mat. Somebody buy this woman a vibrator.

    Seriously.

  12. Is it wrong that I'n now rooting for Victoria to win?  She's SO blatantly clueless that it's almost endearing.

Did they really waste THAT much time on a mediocre "Team Amurika" stunt? UGH. They really are intent on beating that dead horse even furhter into the ground, aren't they?

I honestly don't think I can despite Frankie any more than I currently do. And then (THANKS, TPTB!!) they show Frankie talking to himself, and I was like "Ah! That got my good ol' hate-meter up a few more notches!"

And Cody/Caleb "judy chop" bit was kinda hysterical.

  13. Wow, they must really hate Denzel. That fake-beard was hideous! (Though it could be viewed as payback for bringing the gay-panic into the house.)

My favorites right now are probably Matthew, Ben, and Will. If Matthew and Will don't go anywhere romantically, I'd love it if they became genuine friends.

I liked both Adam and Ben's makeovers; very flattering for them. And I think Matthew was quite attractive before, and more so now. I hope he and WIll can sort our whatever-it-is they have between them without the house flipping another gasket; this is like a BETTER version of Zankie, since neither of these two is an insufferable prat. (And, on that note how is it that Matt and Will can have a (suppsedly) chaste kiss, and not ONE WORD about the two others jumping into the shower together??)

I was surprised that Chantalle was booted; I sure thought Kari got the "Losers Edit" this week.

And Keith? Dude is seriously in for a fall on this show. NO makeover? Really? That's never a good sign for down-the-road.

  14. Darren also did How to Succeed on Broadway and the Sondheim tribute doc for HBO, guested on Web Therapy, did voiceover work for a few movies and TV series, did a summer tour, and has this Motley thing on the side.

And let's not forget Starkids, which is where most people knew Darren from before "Glee"!
