  1. This is part of the "Dax Syndrome" of the first 3 (or so) seasons, where they're really not sure what to do with her, or how to characterize her. (I"m not sure how much of it was due to the actualy and how much was due to Farrell's inability to convey any sense emotion onscreen without seeming "Fake"; it's only when

    Worf joins the cast

that they start to figure out an arc/character for her.

Of course, my perceptions of this episode could also be colored since I can't watch it without thinking of "Brigadoon", which is, IMO, a near-perfect movie.

I will agree with Blueray that the "B-Plot" does almost salvage this episode. I think Kira/Oda/Quark had great chemistry together onscreen.

  2. SUMMARY; Dax falls in love with Deral who will soon disappear because he is a member of Meridian, a planet that phases between dimensions every 60 years.

    I hate this episode.

Not to the extent of "Move Along Home" or "Profit and Lace", perhaps.

    But it's up there.

  3. While the nods to the "Shared DC Universe" was OK, they really need to keep the Flash/Arrow interaction to a minimum.

I found Felicity WAY more tolerable in this show than I do in Arrow though. I think she and Barry share a really nice chemistry.  WHile I wouldn't be averse to them getting together, I'd prefer that they keep it at a brother/sister bond. (The final scene on the train was a grat coda for the storyline.)

I find Grant Gustin really earnest in this role, which kinda works for me for this character.  Not every show needs to be "Arrow"  level of grim and gritty. It's nice to hacve a superhero striving to be a superhero, and not just a vigilante. (The scene where Barry can't save the guard from being frozen? Was extremely well handled and really made an impact.)

Given the clues from this episode, and how protective Wells is of Barry,  I think it's unlikely that

    Wells is Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash.

I find it way more likely that

he is either Barry from the Future (Tom and Grant do share a tiny bit of a resembalnce, or is it just me?), or a grown-up Bart Allen/Impulse.

  4. Adam is a nice guy deep down but somehow he wants to hide this by being a party boy tool. I have found him to be quite sensitive and caring to the other contestants. Very strange how he desperately wants to come across as a tool. Usually it is the other way round. Tyra might have plans for him.

She had definitely been hyping Adam since Day 1, (And granted, he is impriving, but not enough to warrant the attention Tyra gives him. I think maybe she does have a little bit of a thing for him...

The judginjg system continues to mystify me. To this non-math person, it seems like the judges votes are totally arbitrary, and just designed to make sure that they counterbalance the "Social Media" score (which is given WAY too much power) to achieve Tyra's desired outcome. (As in the episode where Lenox got the "1" because Tyra KNEW that no-one was going home since Romeo got booted.)

  9. I used to love these games over on TWOP, and figured we could bring the institution over here.

The rules: Once per 24 hour period, you can vote for (++) or against (--) a total of three of the items on our list.

Once half the list has been eliminated, we change the ++ to + to ensure that the game doesn't last forever.

We'll run through all 7 seasons, and then pick the Top 2 from each season to compete in the "Best of the Best" finale.

    Lets start with Season 1.

  10. I didn't realize the fan voted photos were that different.  Isn't there some kind of game show authenticity rule that prevents that?

(again, I'm not sure how bapping somebody with your head when he won't stop touching you/instigating is grounds for removal when unsolicited dickpunching ISN'T, but ok).

It’s all from the same reality playbook. (That also includes not allowing judges to give a “Zero” as a score.)

Oh, and who can forget the "Firemen" holding their "hoses"? Bwah Ha Ha. Way to keep it classy, show!!

  11. SUMMARY: Quark lies about killing a Klingon, Kozak, and is then forced to marry the widow, Grilka, founding his own 'House of Quark'.

Ah, one of the better Ferengi-centric episodes.

We really get a much better feel for Quark than ever before.

And Grillka remains one of my favroite recurring Klingon characters (along with ol' Bug-Eyes Gowron.)

  12. The Bashir/Garak dynamic is one of my favroite of the entire series.

Their relationship (which they started in the SECOND EPISODE of the series!!) really grows, changes and matures.

If you're a Garak fan, try reading "A Stitch in Time". (It's one of the DS9 relaunch books, so it's [mostly] considered canon, I believe.)

  13. I was really hoping Matt would be the one to make it back into the competition.

    Ditto here.

But Ben was a decent second-choice; he brings some of the pretty back into the competition, at least.

While Adam doesn't have a chance in hell of winning (even with Tyra CLEARLY angling for a man to win after last seasons debacle!), I"m enjpying seeing his slow evolution, and he's just so pretty in his photo-shoots!

With Denzel (and his fake-ass "Beard Weave") gone, I now have to roll my eyes only HALF as much as I have 'til now.  Though Mirjana does give me facial tics whenever she's onscreen. Seriously? In earlier seasons, she would have been BOOTED for the all the shit she's engineered!  They really need to dump her ratchet ass.

  14. Matthew going is really draining my interest in the season. The eye candy is pretty much down to Adam, none of the girls really hold much interest as contenders and only Raelia has enough spunk, without being bitchy about it, to really make me want to root for her. And I just can't with Keith and Denzel, their looks aren't bad or anything but their personalities are horrid.

Agree 100%. I absolutely hope to see more of both Matthew and Ben in the future.

I really didn't think it was possible for me to like Denzel and Marjana even less, but I guess I was wrong.  I don't know who raised Marjana, but I just want to punch them in the face.  And nothing is Denzel's fault, it's all the fault of his environment and grandfather.  Way to excuse your shitty behaviour.

Wow, it’s like all you guys are in my head.
    Also agree 100%.

God Gawd Tyra, who hates you so much that they would do that to you week after week?  Her hair, makeup, and wardrobe has been heinous all season long.  Is she drunk?

That’s a rhetorical question, right? Did you hear her talking at panel about “tooching the booch” and whatnot? Christ, it’s like I need a “Tyra to English” dictionary!
