Carol does not act like a person who wants to change; she is just as unkind and selfish as she was when she was living when she married Pete. Granted, she just arrived, but she has that pompousness and conniving that Elias had.
I've been saying since she died that Carol and Elias might make a good couple. Maybe that's how she'll exit - not as a form of punishment or banishment, but because she develops the hots for Elias and follows him down, after he returns for some reason.

Oh, was that the "new" information? I wondered. And it was probably something that wound up on the cutting room floor the first time they aired the episode, having been deemed irrelevant.

"The night time stopped" was not a new episode, despite what my DVR thinks. It wasn't even a particularly interesting episode, as it became obvious very early on who murdered Moriah Wilson and why. The bulk of the episode was spent on the manhunt for her killer.
The only thing I found sort of interesting is that the friend with the podcast and the boyfriend whose girlfriend killed her had the same last name - Strickland. And the friend who found her body was named Caitlin and the girl who killed her was named Kaitlin.

Cutting off the head of a Dane, filling the skull with something I can't remember and sending it to the Dane's wife. "Very funny." Yes - Thor was a stone-cold murderer. He talks about killing all the time and it's mostly played for laughs. Meanwhile, the worst thing Pete ever did was build a deck without a proper permit. So I don't think their actions in life determine whether they become "stuck" as ghosts or not. In fact it seems more like it might have something to do with the property, like maybe it's cursed or something. The only person to die there who didn't become a ghost was Great Aunt Sophie who died in the pilot. It might be that if you die there from anything other than old age, you're stuck. All of the ghosts died of unnatural causes, so far as we know.
The scene where Pete was sucking on the candy in Carol's finger was just . . . so wrong.
Was Pedestrianism an actual sport at one time? This is the second time Hetty has brought it up.
When Thor started to get specific about sex with Carol he said "First we start off with backwards ram . . . " I don't even want to know.

I see they have tweaked the format a bit. They now spend the entire first segment on Group Chat, then do Hashtag Wars after the first commercial break and after the talk show portion. That means one less game overall, which is probably for the best, since some of them don't really work very well.
That said, they spent FAR too much time on the talk show portion in the last episode. The comics were just sucking all the oxygen out of the room, especially London. She needed to dial it down from 11 to about 9.

There's a reason so many fans have been shipping Buck and Eddie, aside from the fact that they are two good looking guys. There just seemed to be something there. Maybe, at first, it was a case of fans just reading too much into it. And then it seemed like maybe the writers were leaning into it just to troll the shippers.
So it's a happy surprise, to me, the show decided to do something with all the speculation and shipping because it sort of legitimizes what fans have been interpreting. It shows respect for the audience.

I don't know how it even got a second season, the show was a narrative mess that didn't seem to understand the concept or what the audience would be more interested in. The leap stories played liked an obligatory afterthought in most cases and only served as metaphors for Ben and Addison's relationship angst.
There's a trend in TV to remake older fantasy/sci-fi shows darker, grittier and more dramatic than they originally were, sucking all of the fun out of them. This one followed suit and really missed the mark when it came to what people loved about the original.

Making the Ben and Addison relationship the focus of the show was always the main problem, and the show never seemed to understand that. The finale just proves they didn't get it and far from ever fixing it they just kept doubling down on it.

Well, it is a sitcom after all. But I have faith that the writers have something more in mind for Carol, she's not just going to hit the same beat over and over again, because I don't think she's around for the long haul. And we haven't really seen enough of her (in life) to judge what kind of person she is, she only appeared in two episodes before she died. We also know from Pete's flashbacks she was sort of a harridan, and was definitely a bride-zilla during her daughter's wedding planning. So I think it's a stretch to say they've "re-written" her to be a different kind of character.

I understand how you feel, because in general I do not like it when shows take a character that has been introduced as straight and then throws them into a same-sex relationship. (They do this constantly on Grey's Anatomy - I swear every single female character on that show is sexually fluid). It's the type of thing that reinforces the misguided belief that people "choose" their sexuality.
However, in this case, Buck and Eddie are not turning into a couple (as yet) so their relationship as close friends remains unchanged. And I think Buck admitting that he's crushing on this other dude validates what a lot of fans have been reading into his and Eddie's relationship, like it's actually possible there's something more to it, and it's not just the writers trolling the shippers. Which is more than I ever expected from this show, to be honest.

The kid playing Young Trevor in the flashback was perfect casting. I love that Trevor was already doing "T-Money" when he was a kid.
I was shocked when Pete actually punched Thor. Did you see Alberta's reaction? I think this is the second time Pete turned her on a little bit.

The funny thing is, the years of baiting actually paid off, because the entire episode read like Buck was jealous that Eddie was hanging around with someone other than him. But all along, it turns out he was crushing on Tommy and jealous that Eddie was spending time with him instead. Nice switcheroo.
I don't know they'd ever go there with Eddie and Buck, it feels maybe a little too fan-servicey. But it definitely gives weight to the idea that maybe Buck had deeper feelings for Eddie all along which is why we all read it that way for years.

Yes! Athena could easily have been the story of the mother who shoots her own son! It was so dumb of Harry to come into the house unannounced and unexpected while everyone was asleep upstairs, knowing his mother was a cop with a gun. Especially since its been so long since she's seen him she might not even recognize him.

This was a really good episode! Some of this season has been rather lackluster, I have to admit, and I was getting worried they were losing it. But this one had a lot of great laughs, especially Isaac learning about dinosaurs, and Hetty recounting the time she crushed a footman to death with her steamer trunk. "You really have to scrape the footman off right away."
This one deserves a re-watch for sure, there were too many great lines to remember.

I don't know where they're going with the new EMT. She did really well with the kid with the gun, and she seems to know what she's doing on the job, and isn't undermining Violet like that last guy. But she's pretty man-hungry. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that, but maybe don't go fishing for hookups at work on Day 1, y'know? Or brag about hooking up with a married man. She doesn't seem to have any filter or boundaries.
I'm really bored with Severide The Fire Detective. He spent the whole episode looking at people like he was constipated. His patented "distrustful" look.

Wow. The show has been trolling the audience with Buck and Eddy for years but I never once thought they would actually go there with either of them. Yet this whole jealousy bit was like trolling on top of trolling and when Tommy came to Buck's apartment that whole conversation read like a romantic scene, I was actually kind of laughing about how ridiculous it was and then shocked they actually went there. At first I thought Tommy just got the wrong idea but then it turned out Buck was all about it. Mind, blown.
One thing I don't get is that when Tommy showed up last week, it seemed like Hen knew him from somewhere, but have we ever seen him before?

I don't know anything about the show itself or the actress/character. It could have been any show they were promoting. The problem is that The Amazing Race is a very visual show. This isn't the show you want to have something pop up and cover the bottom of the screen constantly.

Traditionally the merge was the tipping point in the game and potentially the most exciting episode of the season because it sent multiple people scrambling and all sorts of names came up and all sorts of new alliances got formed. It was where lines were drawn and people showed their cards.
Now? It's a handful of people deciding which one of TWO should go. Whoever thought this would be more interesting is on drugs.

I'm so old I remember the game show "Concentration" so that's how I know how rebus puzzles work. I thought this was a fairly easy one, but the two things that could trip you up were the magnifying glass (smaller or bigger? or larger?) and the mirror (me or us?) so it might take multiple tries. But boy, Sunny and Bizzy weren't even close.

Not to be didactic, but I assume you mean Sunny and Bizzy, who are not "girlfriends" in the dating sense if that's what you meant. Yvonne and Melissa are the dating couple.
There hasn't been a whole lot of placement shakeup so far this season. I can't decided if that's because of the starting groups or because there are just consistently stronger and weaker teams. Probably a bit of both. The only real movement this leg was Angie and Danny who jumped from 9th to 3rd. Ricky and Cesar remained first, Amber and Vinny remained second, Rod and Leticia remained fourth, Juan and Shane remained fifth. Derek and Shelisa fell from third to sixth, Yvonne and Melissa dropped from sixth the seventh, while Sunny and Bizzy and Kishori and Karishma both dropped one spot from seventh and eighth to eighth and ninth.
The Detour really did seem lopsided, I would never have tried the dancing in a million years and the puzzle seemed ridiculously easy until Sunny and Bizzy got there. But I thought the Roadblock was a good one.
So, that's one less racer who's terrified of heights and decided going on The Amazing Race was a good idea anyway. I kind of wondered if they just ended up giving Michelle the answers since they were out anyway. She seemed hopelessly lost and it was dark outside.

I do not understand why the show thinks this "earn the merge" gimmick makes the game more interesting. It does not. You go from having eleven or twelve possible evictions to just six, and ultimately, just two. How is that more interesting?
Who put Q in charge of the vote? I get that both Nami and Siga wanted the Yanu tribe to vote with them, but there were six people to choose from and we never once heard anyone throw Maria, Liz or Soda's name out there. Nor did we ever hear from them. Instead we got a lot of Q running his mouth, changing his mind, telling everyone who to vote for and lecturing Moriah at tribal council. He's getting an awful lot of screen time and I find him insufferable. Which means he'll probably win.
I also don't understand why every freaking challenge has to be running through an obstacle course and putting together a puzzle. It's so old and so stale and I'm sick of it. And I don't get the show's obsession with making them crawl through mud pits either. I don't find it the least bit funny or entertaining seeing them covered head to toe in mud and sawdust.
The show is just so lazy anymore.

in The Amazing Race
I would argue Angie is not long for this race. They got a lucky break this leg because Danny was able to breeze through both the puzzle detour and the roadblock, which was another sort of puzzle.
I think Amber and Vinny might be in trouble too, she just doesn't seem to have the right attitude for the race.
