I had stopped watching by this time during the original run, so when I heard about this years later and found the clip on youtube, I actually thought it was a parody and not an actual thing that happened on the show.

I fucking love Kraft singles. I do not love them (nor have I ever heard of) them as an ingredient in mac and cheese. Sadly, I think this was intentional on Raven's part and not a matter of BB not giving them real cheese. And if they didn't... I mean... how many production/crew eyes are on these cameras at any given time? I REFUSE to believe that not one person would see that monstrosity even once (because doesn't she make this "dish" all the time?) and NOT immediately intervene and send a PA on an emergency run to the nearest supermarket for some actual fucking cheese. I think they care more than they want to admit. Cody was talking about losing his shit on everyone if this happened and Jess appeared to be seriously considering using the veto even though in her mind this would destroy all the good will she built up while Cody was gone (bullshit, but she believes it). Most importantly, they REALLY don't want Paul to get his way and they REALLY REALLY hate Josh. I think they very much care if Ramses goes, which is why putting up Paul (or at least Alex) would be a win/win (get out Josh, OR if the "pawn" goes home it weakens that side and gets rid of a player with, you know, ALLIES). Losing a player with zero allies (who could have potentially been a number for them, because clearly no one else wants him) and keeping a legit enemy who is also a Paul minion is more than just a waste of an HOH. It's as if Paul himself had won HOH (and Cody won veto). Ramses would go in that scenario (maybe Mark, but probably Ramses). So LOL to Jess and Cody doing the second best thing for Paul's game right now. Ugh. Jess was much better without Cody. She would have used the veto had he not come back (or perhaps made better noms to begin with). This is why I could never get on board with wanting him to win the Battle Back. Besides the fact that he's a psycho tool whose only redeeming quality as far as I can see is that he wants to get rid of Paul (but apparently not now, so whatever dude), he's also TERRIBLE at this game and makes Jess second guess her own ideas which are at the very least, not complete delusions like his own. This season sucks. Kevin and Xmas are the only ones I don't hate who are also playing the game, and both are still currently up Paul's ass at least to some degree. I can't even find humor in Raven's OTT death declarations anymore because I want to punch her in the throat every time she appears.

See, I don't think it matters if they have the votes to get out Paul or not. They have nothing to lose by taking the shot as he will be coming after them anyway. If he stays (likely), he will have served the pawn purpose they are going for much better than Ramses ever could. Their target, Josh, would leave as planned. If the minions decide to wake up and vote Paul out, it's a huge win for Jess/Cody (and the rest of the house too - which is why MAYBE the minions would be tempted to take the shot if he was up there as none of them would have to get BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS and he's out pre-jury so they're truly rid of his ass). He'd very likely stay, but what does that change for Jess/Cody? They have safety for at least another week due to the hex, and they know Paul is coming after them the first chance he gets. The problem is, I think Jess really believes that these bs "safe" noms are helping build a bridge for them with Paul's people. She's wrong, and their target w/him and his "people" will be even bigger once she uses the hex anyway. So make a fucking move, girl!! I think Elena and Jason (and Ramses, if she saves him) would be willing to work with Jess (if she can keep Cody in line), and this scenario is WAY more likely if Paul leaves. If he doesn't, they are in the exact same spot they are now, but without Josh as a number for Paul. How is this a losing proposition either way?? ETA: well... I guess if the veto meeting is over and nothing changed, my above rant is meaningless. Carry on. These people are so stupid.

Cabbies are not allowed to refuse fares within the city limits, or negotiate a fare outside of the metered rate (or in the case of airport fares, the flat rate that is posted in all cabs). I mean, they DO refuse all the time (usually when asked to go to another borough from Manhattan) but usually it's by making an excuse like the meter just broke or they are going off duty, etc. The dude would not have done that with a camera crew present, he could lose his hack license. I agree that the discussion of $$ for waiting came up before they hit the FDNY training center, and Justin thought what the cabbie was asking was too much. Instead of calmly and nicely negotiating (OR JUST ASKING HIM TO RUN THE METER, DAMN), Justin went into full on "I'm a New Yorker and yer fucking me over, man" mode. Trust me, I know that feeling, but TIME AND PLACE, Justin. This was NOT it. Also, I'm not even sure the driver WAS trying to fuck them over. They had no idea how long they'd be gone or how long they would need his services. Again, METER. Also, I'm SURE Justin was crowing the whole ride there about how he was going to win $1,000,000, so why the hell WOULDN'T the cabbie assume they REALLY REALLY needed his help and would be willing to pay whatever for it? I know I'm being redundant but I'm just so glad Justin's mouth ended up doing him in. Also, cabs aside, I'm not sure they even would have won. Yeah they were able to make up the time fairly quickly (as were Logan & Chris) as evidenced by all 3 teams seeing each other on the boats. But Kelsey and Joey appeared to do all the flags in the first attempt (with the exception of initially adding the extra flag on the bottom) - we know L&C sucked at that one but I'm pretty sure J&D did not complete that as quickly as K&J. Also, we saw them have to fix one chair, but this could simply be because the editors wanted it to make it look closer than it was. It's entirely possible that they had re-do more of the chairs. Justin certainly spent a lot of time looking/yelling at K&J during that task while Diana hammered away. Does anyone know the time difference between first and second to the mat? I'm very curious. I mean, it would be hilarious if it was like 5 minutes, meaning the cab WAS their entire undoing, but I suspect there was more at play than that. K&J ran a pretty flawless leg.

Technically, if they had found a stranger (someone not affiliated with the fire dept if they are not allowed to help) with the Uber app on their phone, they could have called for a taxi. Uber has a taxi option now (at least in NYC) and there is just a fee of $2 charged to the Uber account, the actual fare is paid by meter like any other taxi. They could have paid the account holder the $2 and then taken the taxi that was sent by Uber (which would be a lot faster (and probably cheaper) than calling a car service based in Queens or Manhattan, which IMO would have been their only other option aside from what they did, which was to take the bus in the wrong direction in order to get to Manhattan and hail another cab. Of course, finding someone not associated with the fire dept and THEN convincing them (nicely of course) to allow their Uber app to be used to get a taxi (or even to borrow their phone and call a car) would require Justin to stop being an entitled dick for five minutes and I don't think he's capable of that. And he surely wouldn't have allowed Diana to speak...

I think you're right about the flat rate maybe only applying to Manhattan - but Randall's Island is technically part of Manhattan, not Queens. I think what happened is that Kelsey and Joey paid the driver the flat from JFK, and THEN asked him to run the meter and wait. Once the meter was running, they owed him that $$, so yeah, had Chris and Logan actually stolen the cab they would be responsible for the entire fare from the time the meter began. Of course, that's a moot point because I don't believe the driver would have taken them (unless Kelsey and Joey were ALSO in the cab, and I guess had L&C refused to budge that may have been the result). Justin is not only unpleasant, he is dumb. For someone who has lived here for 20 years, he should have known to do exactly what K&J did - have the cabbie run the meter if they couldn't agree on a waiting time. The $100 that J&D's driver was asking for may have seemed excessive, but they had no idea how long they'd be gone. Running the meter would be the only way to ensure neither the cabbie nor the racers got screwed. And if the meter was running and the racers didn't pay, the cabbie has the right to call the cops. That cabbie would have been smart to stick around and chill with the meter running. Justin either refused to allow the meter to run, or simply pissed the driver off enough that he wanted to peace out anyway. I mean... this is someone for whom winning this race apparently means EVERYTHING. And he must know you cannot just hail a cab on Randall's Island. What did he ACTUALLY think would happen when his cab peaced out? IMO he figured he'd be first to finish the task and planned to steal another team's cab all along. He didn't even seriously try to negotiate with the driver, he literally seemed like he wanted to ARGUE. I hope he's still weeping. I think if there was a penalty for not returning the firefighter gear it would not have been shown as it didn't matter for the third place team. Chris and Logan's bickering was actually really funny to me, and I usually hate that shit on the race. Maybe it's because I don't actually think they are a real couple. Chris is not straight.

I greatly enjoyed Captain Lee's call-out's of Rocky, mainly because a)she totally deserved them, and b)Andy was not addressing Lee at all so he just interjected when he smelled BS. I agree Bravo forbade him from firing her and now he's saying what he's wanted to all along. Ditto for Kate pointing out that Rocky didn't earn her tips. If I'm someone's boss but am not allowed to get rid of that person for being useless and or unprofessional, I'd be pissed too. And I loved how they showed clips of Rocky shit talking Leon's food - I agree with whomever upthread said that Rocky's BFF status with Leon is purely out of mutual hatred for Kate. Immature. I don't care if she's a bitch, I think Kate is hilarious on the show and on social media, and though the slut shaming tweets were a bit much, I just can't muster any sympathy for Rocky under any circumstances. Bitch is not living in reality. Lazy and entitled are two of the least attractive qualities in a person, IMO. Add "possibly mentally unstable" and she's just really, really hard to watch/listen to. I hope next week is not "the Rocky show" again, but it probably will be because of the Eddie drama. Yawn.

Oh, totally. I just couldn't believe I was hearing it at the exact same time as I was reading this particular thread. That was some spooky shit. I know this has been mentioned but I think of spooge every time I hear it. And unfortunately I don't think he has to go to traditional school to get beat up for that name, but someone should beat up Jessa and Ben on his behalf for giving it to him.
