The Secret Of Skinwalker Ranch - General Discussion

Okay, I realize the end of my last reply sounds crazy, but all anyone has to do to see the reporting is do a search for "havana syndrome crickets". Depending on your search engine (I use Brave), you may have to go to the second page to begin seeing coverage by the most recognizable outlets. -

According to Kaleb, the calf, while permanently blind, is doing just fine now that it's away from the ranch. I feel like it was a onetime, targeted event in response to the activity of the team, similar to Travis's exposure to radiation. Only he was affected. I won't speculate on why 60 Minutes keeps resurrecting Havana Syndrome, but various three-letter agencies and scientists had previously concluded that it was not some kind of foreign energy weapon. Some scientists believe it was, in fact, crickets coupled with a sort of social contagion. -

Last week's episode had another "how on earth is that happening?" incident, followed a truly unpleasant one in a Season One sort of way: As far as the first incident: -

It has! I watched a fun interview with Eric and Pete where they talked - among other things - about the different lidar instruments used during this episode, including the one that captured that particular data set. I think I'd previously only seen the drone and the SLAM scanner Kaleb was walking around with. The Secret Of Skinwalker Ranch's Erik Bard & Pete Kelsey LIVE!! -

I think it's worth remembering that not only is the team doing a lot more work than we see in a less-than-an-hour show, but they have zero control over what is shown. The production company is ultimately in charge of what makes it to our screens and how it's presented. Personally, I'm finding this season to be highly engaging. Aside from the drill stuff, last week's episode (Ep 7, The Cone Zone) was amazing. In my best Jesse Pinkman voice: "Yeah! Lasers, baby!" -
I forgot that this site came out of Television Without Pity. Am I really the only one that is desperate to see A-Holes get their comeuppance in this real life age of endless non-accountability for truly horrible people? Wowza. I am cynical AF, but this was one of my all-time favorite episodes and I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm grateful I can see that all the characters I love also played a role, and, come on, Stella is not even close to being as bad as frakking Gabby...seriously! And even if she were....I am happy for Kelly. He deserves someone who actually is afraid to lose him.

I may be extra cranky about Paramount+ because they insist on showing me promos for shows I'm not interested in despite me paying for a no-commercials subscription. It's supposed to be only once a day, but even that isn't always true. BTW, I didn't mean to slight Lifetime shows. It's just that CBS has a particular look to their more serious dramas (see the FBI shows and even Blue Bloods) and I really missed it with the SEAL Team premiere. Plus, the dialog at the house sounded like a pilot.

I watched the season premiere and found the change in cinematography from the preceding seasons so jarring that every single daytime scene took me completely out of the episode. I would say it resembled a Lifetime series, but Army Wives was positively gritty compared to that strange, warm, angelic wash at Ray's house and during the briefing. After an entire season of Mopey Jason, maybe I've just lost my will to watch this.

Wow. I really have to stop reading this forum. It's crushing.

Mika, you would have gotten a lot more mileage out of letting the rest of the group be excited about Star Wars without your condescension than your efforts the other morning to be football literate.

Too bad Joe doesn't have the balls to call Trump on his knee jerk poll quoting while he has him on the phone. Put on your big boy pants, Joe. Let the tweets fall where they may.
-
I think I keep watching because I like the format and I like hearing the various viewpoints in a casual setting. Well, from everyone except Joe, Mika and Willy. But now that we are in election frenzy mode, it's becoming a chore and probably not the best way to start the day.
-
I also watch for moments like Eugene Robinson pointing out that there were two topics brought up by the town hall question. In fact, the actual question was about getting rid of muslims. Which, if someone else said that, they'd be all over, as they should be. But, no, Mika and Joe and your gaggle, let's concentrate on coaching Trump to be a better candidate by advising him to just be up front about his birtherism. Personally, I won't believe him no matter what he says on that subject because it's obvious to me that he will say whatever suits his needs at the moment. Loved them slamming CNN for going for Trump-induced ratings. They love Trump so much they've allowed him to litterally phone it in more than any other candidate. I mean, they personally know all of the candidates - as we are reminded ad nauseam - but he's clearly more valuable to them. Yes, Mika has looked smugger by the day. Unless she's worried that she has something on her face, which was my favorite moment the other morning. Geez, get a grip.

I only lasted 23 minutes today. I think Joe and Mika's biggest fear is hearing Trump say "I used to like Joe and Mika and they liked me" followed by the usual gas about how they are indebted to him for their ratings. I bet Mika is especially terrified that he'll start retweeting unflattering tweets about her from the past. I will never forget Fiorina explaining how none of us in high tech had a right to the jobs she was outsourcing. Way to look out for "the American people" Carly.

Who needs Fox News when you have CNN and MSNBC hanging on your every word?
