  1. Pardon the repeat post....I don't know what happened.
  2. Sadly, I had the opposite. We had our 2nd shots on March 26 and both had mild symptoms at first. He's pretty good...still working but he's tired a lot. About 2 wks later I got really sick. Still feel like warmed-over shit. Walking around the house, showering, dishwasher, etc. just wears me out. I do a little bit then go rest for a while. Get out of breath really easily, which didn't happen when I was diagnosed in Nov. Went to the Dr. last Tues and he said I am a long-hauler. I asked if the vaccine could have stirred things up and he said probably in my case (emphasis...this will not happen to most folks so get your damn shots, people!) I'm an old fart and not in the best of health to begin with. This stuff is like Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction....."I will not be ignored."
  3. We're at 89 but it feels like 100+ with the pea soup humidity out there. I feel for all you west coasters. We're used to this stuff.
  4. Wow...that's sad. I watched AMC from practically the beginning. Cliff (our PB) and Nina, anybody? I was working in an office in '71/'72 with about 20 other women and I had to quit because I was pregnant with boychild (and really sick for the first 3 months). My best friend would call me at home after the show every day to find out what happened as all the gals were fans. The old days before VCRs. 🙂 Memories.....
  5. Yeah...ya gotta love 'em. They can bug the shit out of you but for me it's not a home without a cat or two. 😸
  6. I have a huge love for VP from my high school days. Our local drive-ins (we had 2 about 3-4 miles apart) used to run dusk till dawn movies on Sat nites. Roger Corman directing Edgar Allen Poe stories. My Dad had a huge station wagon and I would pick up all the friends and go to the all-nighters for $1.00 a carload! Those were the days....good times.
  7. That is awesome. I watched AMC practically from the beginning till it ended *sob*. Loved Phoebe and don't forget her in Citizen Kane.
  8. Kinda bummed to hear that about Alex. Always loved him and he seemed to be so refined and gentlemanly. The worst for me was a member of The Association (Never My Love, Wendy). Shop was downtown then (I've had 3 locations) and they were in town in the late '80's doing our summer arts festival. 3-4 guys came in and looked around (can't remember if they bought anything) but this one guy was just really snotty and at one point he said: "Don't you know who we are? Ever hear of The Association?" I replied 'yeah' and started listing their songs while *in my head* Dude...your heyday was 20 yrs ago. Get over it..... Putz.
  9. Yeah...that was...uh...something, alright. Too much money, too little taste.
  10. Well Sherman....set the Way-Back machine for 1984. I'd had the shop open in Springfield for about 5-6 years and word was spreading around the local university (Wittenberg) and the college kids were coming in. Well Witt hosts some of the national college tournament games...have a pretty good team themselves...and the games were on so colleges from all over were sending teams. Now I don't follow basketball much and this was before he hit it big. Three young guys come in and men's vintage overcoats were all the rage. They each picked one out, gave me a $10 deposit to hold them and they were coming back the next day to pick them up. Had a great conversation with them, some laughs, and just before they left one of the shorter guys points to MJ and said "Remember this face. This guys gonna be famous". Well they never came back and after 30 days I put them back in stock and threw away the tickets. I regret I didn't get a piece of paper and say "Well, if you're gonna be famous I want your autograph". Lo and behold a few years later there's this young phenom I start seeing and......"OMG!! That's the guy I owe $10 to!!" My hand to God.
  11. Love Chappelle! He spends a lot of time at his place in Yellow Springs (a short distance from our house) and I used to spend a lot of time there pre-Covid. Great shops and food, cool vibe, several friends live there and I've run into him a few times. Nice guy and quiet demeanor (you hear that a lot about comedians). Popped in one night a few years back at the wine bar/restaurant we were playing (the trio). We were acoustic so we fit in there nicely, played there about once a month. Anyhoo...he stayed for a few songs but some non-locals were pestering him for autographs so he left. All the locals don't bug him. Pass him on the street and just say hi. Very talented fellow. Remind me to tell you sometime about how I owe Michael Jordan $10......
  12. Amen to that. They would lay in wait for the mailman and raise holy hell when the mail came thru the slot. Never tore it up but they sure showed that mailman who 's boss!
  13. My brother has Pomeranians. Feisty critters but cute as hell.
  14. Amen Sister! Back at ya and ya'll. It's like having lunch with your friends.
  15. "Who's a pretty bird?" *spoken in my best bird voice*
  16. Loved Anthony Bourdain. Huge fan...and a crush, too. Miss him. 😥
  17. Face it, kid...you were Born Under a Bad Sign (cue Albert King). Happy Birthday!
  18. My bat story....have two but this is the creepiest. Years ago at the shop (old building, built in 1870's and leaked like a sieve draft-wise in the winter) I was cleaning up in front where the hats were. Had this really cool old wood slat Shaker-like baby bassinet/carrier (no legs) that I kept hats in. Went to pick up the basket (which I hadn't moved in over a year) and there was a bat splayed out under it! It let out a screech/scream that still chills me to the bone when I think of it. It was sick or stunned or something so I grabbed a hat and scooped him up, took him outside. Put him on the ground out back and threw the hat in the dumpster. How that thing got under the basket still mystifies me. It was pretty heavy and had a large wood base. Hadn't noticed any bats around either.
  19. I use those things everyday! RIP, sir. Job well done.
  20. Whoa, man...I'm having an acid flashback. I'm watching a Bergman film all of a sudden.
  21. We had our 50th last Nov. 28..... Where does the time go?
