  1. Spot on.....I love Dorothy Parker. Miss Cupid a bunch.....
  2. (((hugs to all))) Seems like the shit never stops coming. "And this too shall pass...."
  3. I have to laugh because my cousin 30+ yrs ago had the same problem. He was in MD doing a two truck run, following the other driver when all of a sudden the traffic comes to a standstill. The train trestle they were supposed to be able to go under was 4-5" too short. Steep hill on one side, little berm on the other so they and all the cars behind them had to back up and go the other way. HP was called to direct traffic but he said it was a nightmare. No GPS back then, just good ol' paper maps and a dispatcher.
  4. Boychild and I both have these...no headache, just the colors. Hubby...never. Go figure. It starts as a pulsating dot in the corner of my eye, then spreads into an expanding rainbow around the outer peripheral, usually the right, sometimes the left. Son, too. My brother made glasses for years, took some classes in optometry and he always called them optical migraines. Scary when you're driving but now I just shut my eyes and enjoy.
  5. Wow...still nothing. I'm afeared. Where is everybody?
  6. Anybody out there? Anyone?....Bueller?...Bueller?
  7. Same here..... peaches...please resend that last PM. My laptop ate it.
  8. Ditto here, kid. Hang tough.......the new year's got to be better. How about moving in with a friend until all calms down/financially on your feet. No one should put with that shit...family or not. On that note.....Happy New Year to all! It's got to get better....right?
  9. Merry Christmas to all my hail and well met fellow preverts! May you live long and prosper......
  10. Hey...thanks, gals. Feeling better this week...last 2 have been rough. This thing (for me) comes and goes in waves. Just have my adrenaline going for the festivities. Have a great time everyone!
  11. HO-HO-HO from O-hio! Getting ready for the feast. Made a couple of things ahead today (popped 'em in the freezer) and Peaches awesome dip for veggies/crackers. Boychild is bringing our favorite ribs & sides and pulled pork for sandwiches. A weekend to over-indulge and veg out. Got It's a Wonderful Life ready to go (finally bought my own copy). It's just not Christmas without watching that. A tradition here. Everyone have a Merry Christmas or wonderful whatever holiday you celebrate!
  12. Yeah...I'm lucky on that front. My BIL (hub's brother) has it bad, too and he says hamburgers/pizza taste like sawdust. Now, the irony is I love food and love to cook. Don't have an appetite anymore for the first and no energy to do the latter. I've lost about 15 lbs, too and I ain't that big to begin with. My biggest problem is the fatigue. I sleep 2-3 hours during the day (cat naps) and sleep well at night for the most part. Every evening I start fading about 9-10pm. 20 yrs ago I would be cranking up the first set with the band about then. Ah, the good old days.
  13. Thanks boes. It's one day at a time. Pie gooood.....😋
  14. Hey y'all..... Little late to the 'how I ate my Thanksgiving dinner' chat. Covid is still kicking my ass, have had a rough November so I told the guys they were in charge of dinner Neither one cook so I told them it can be Mickey D's...I. don't. care. as long as I don't have to cook.....first time in 40+ yrs. Well....hubs picked up the dinner for six from Bob Evans. OMG.....we are only three (but these boys can eat and it was for the whole weekend). Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, mac & cheese, cranberry sauce, rolls, and a pumpkin pie. We ate for 3 days on that and boychild took a bunch home Sunday. I still have enough ham in the freezer (my best friend) for a nice breakfast. Everything was delicious. We had club sandwiches for lunches. I highly recommend it if you're ever in a pinch. They're all over here in our area and I know they are expanding all the time. They started right here in southern Ohio and we've been eating there for all our lives. * just googled and they're in 18 states all in the midwest and mid Atlantic states*. Anyhoo...hope you all had a wonderful holiday.
  15. Yay! I don't know how old you are but honey, after 50 it's patch, patch, patch. (((hugs)))
  16. This is a classic.....couldn't get the pic to load. Ladies of a certain age will relate...... I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant and I don't have acne. Life is great. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now. Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers. I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row. I decided to stop calling the bathroom "John" and renamed it the "Jim". I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning. Old age is coming at a really bad time. When I was a child I thought "nap time" was a punishment. Now it feels like a small vacation. The biggest lie I tell myself is... " I don't have to write that down, I'll remember it". I don't have gray hair... I have "wisdom highlights"! I'm just very wise. If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would've put them on my knees. Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet. Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway? Of course, I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice. At my age "Getting Lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I came In there for. I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't remember their names. Now, I'm wondering... did I send this to you, or did you send it to me? ----------------------------------------------------------- Raise a glass and celebrate yourself!
  17. Do we even need Halloween anymore? I've been wearing a mask and eating candy for 14 months......
  18. Oh, I get the whole fame whore/make money while the sun shines thing. I'm just tired of seeing them on my TV, computer, everywhere I look. I can't escape them, man..... 😥
  19. And sadly, people follow this. I have my own life/reality. I just don't get it. I'm an old fart......
  20. Quick question..... Why don't the Kardashians just. go. away? They've got more money than Croesus.
  21. I'm writing a book about all the things I should be doing in my life. It's called an oughtobiography.
