Perhaps, but I don't know exactly what Russ told her.

He was CALLING her asking when she was coming.  She CHOSE not to come.  If she would have shown up at ANY time before Russ was supposed to leave she could MAYBE have made an excuse.  As it was, she was being deliberately rude.

If Russ made it clear to her that she had to be one time, then she should have been on time,

She has been married to him long enough to know she was supposed to be on time - she was given the specifics of how the timing was supposed to work (unless you are trying to say she is THAT stupid.)  He was CALLING her asking when she was coming and she STILL came very late.  She was being deliberately rude just so SHE could take offense at people leaving.  It MIGHT have been acceptable for her to show up 15(or so) minutes late for the socializing under the excuse she wanted people to get a chance to connect only with Russ but for her to DELIBERATELY wait until she actually made Russ late for his tee time (she showed up AFTER the socialization time) and then complain because people left was beyond the pale.  This was not cultural differences this was Paola pissed because no one chose to fawn all over her once she actually deigned to arrive.

Nicole, feel free to die again. No, really! Salem and the viewers will survive without you. I promise!

Yes, it's pretty funny that EVERYONE was making her in to some sort of saint while she was dead.  Kinda not like that in real life huh?  If she died again, she could go back to being a saint again.

By the way, once you SIGNED A DIRECTIVE naming Chloe as Holly's guardian there wasn't much ANYONE could have done.  "Deathbed directions" mean squat in a court of law.  YOU are responsible for what happened - no one else.

Hey Nicole, which one of the horrible inhabitants of Salem who did nothing to save your daughter is paying for your hotel suite, new clothes and meals?  The bastards!

Any chance Nicole could possibly fall into a coma, or off a cliff because I think she really needs the rest.  I know I do.

Hey Eric, your zipper is down.

Hey Eric, you've got something in your teeth.

Hey Eric, do your feet always smell that bad or did you just fart?

Hey Eric, do you know your mom loved me better?

Hey Eric, do you know your mom loves dirt more than you?

Hey Eric, your mom should have thrown you away and kept the stork.

Hey Eric, I never forget a face but in your case I'll make an exception.

Hey Eric, If your brains were dynamite, there wouldn't be enough to blow your hat off.

Hey Eric, I'm jealous of all the people who haven't met you.

Hey Eric, You're the reason the gene pool needs a lifeguard.

Hey Eric, You want some more cheesy dialogue with that whine?

I'm hoping the Powers that Be in Salem put up a really, really big sign that says "It's Eric's fault".   Nothing would make him happier.

Now, Nicole, see if you can walk down the highway with your eyes closed.

Come on, ALL this misery.  You KNOW we got a vow to God coming.

I'm trying to tell myself that Nicole has some reason she's being such a bitch to everyone - like it's all part of some plan.  But they better let us in on it soon because this is REALLY getting old.  I'm guessing tomorrow she starts yelling at the UPS guy after reaming out the bagger at the grocery store for not protecting her child.

  6. So when Emily Ann(?) sang her new single I had absolutely no memory of who she was.  NONE.  There have been several contestants over the years I still remember - even ones who didn't win.  It seemed they had a much higher caliber of talent before.  Is the talent pool getting that shallow or are they targeting more teeny boppers and country dudes to audition?

Hey all, I just realized tonight one of the guys is named Dexter!  It's the semi-finals and I'm finally learning the names.  No, uh-uh, all the country guys didn't run together - not even a little bit.

Only halfway? You’re far more generous than I am.

    I’d like to see:

    Adam and Blake gone.

    Only 1 season per year.

Coaches’ names removed from voting: list the contestants in performance order or alphabetically. People will still vote by coach but maybe that will encourage a little bit more voting for the contestants rather than for the coach.

Ditch the cross-battles and the Comeback Stage.

    Ditch the saves and steals.

Start the voting earlier but with shallower cuts. 2 a week seems like it would give us time to get to know the singers without a weekly bloodbath.

Raise the age limit to 16 at least. I’d prefer 18, actually.

While I’m on a wish list, I’d like to add a sound engineer who can actually mix the sound so tv viewers can hear the singers’ voices over the band, and ban all hand-waving from audience members. JHC that is beyond annoying.

I think they should limit the teams coming out of the blinds - I'd prefer 6 but would take 8.  As you said, get rid of the saves and steals - especially the judges picks/save when they go live.  If they can't get the vote one week are they REALLY going to get it the next?

    34 minutes ago, Bridget said:

Why are most of the “singers” sounding so freakin’ awful as each week goes on? Cheesy song choice aside, Gyth was absolutely terrible tonight.

Is it the sound engineers or the people themselves?

    Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Tonight was terrible!  It was pretty sad when they all had to tell long-haired kid who's name I can't remember that he was REALLY off pitch.  Pretty much said the same thing to Gyth ("wasn't your technically best" or some such way of saying that really sucked.)  Still can't really tell the other men on Blake's team apart.  Kim did herself the most good by actually just singing tonight.  Maelyn and Shawn were both good.

How pathetic is it that this is the semi-final and most of the "performers" are this unmemorable?

This picture is proof that Lulano CANNOT design clothes proportionately.  Meri's arms are NOT disproportionately bigger than the rest of her but the sleeves on that shirt are, again, way too tight.  The bust is tight-ish while the waist has extra fabric.  Was this shirt designed for a bowling pin with sticks for arms?

Yeah, you're correct there. There are always going to be those folks, some are genuine and some are not.

I know people who live an earth-loving life. They are authentic in the way they live, it's not just crap they share on social media. Many things they do have thought as to how their choices could affect the environment, or animals. The most admirable thing about a couple of them is that the they are not preachy--if you ask them about something, they'll tell you: "Why is your food wrapped in paper?" "I don't like using plastic as it doesn't decompose and has been shown to harm animals in the ocean (and so on)".

As for Mariah, I suspect as soon as she gets home, she's going to run to the nearest restaurant and gobble up an expensive brunch. Unless she demonstrates otherwise, she's still just a "woke" narcissist.

Exactly.  Maybe there ARE "influencers" who really care about their causes (at least for this week) but I really think most of them are "Look at me.  I'm SOOOOO socially committed.  Of course I, you know, don't have to have a real job where I must balance my carbon footprint against all the challenges of actually supporting myself."  I think the Kardashians are some of the most egregious examples of this - as rich as they are one of them got push back for hawking one of those diarrhea causing supplements too.  At least most of Mariah's posts aren't actually harmful.

Once things get hard most of these people will go back to doing the same (or worse) than those of us who aren't "woke" - fake emotional support animals anyone?  And yes, she WILL go eat the expensive brunch!

I think people just had high hopes for Aspyn to break the Brown-get-rich-quick mold and develop a legimate career path like Logan is. Hopefully she still does when she graduates and gets to use her degree for a rewarding  stable career.

I tend to cut the girls a little more slack in that I think it will take longer for them to find their way.  They were all young to mid-teens when their parents became less involved with the church (I think they were still pretty heavily in the church right up until they left Lehi.)  Imagine living the first 14-16 years of your life being told your ETERNAL SOUL depends on getting a man, settling for only a small part of that man, and popping out as many children as possible.  Add to that, many of the women you saw growing up ONLY had MLM's as an option - they simply had too many children to be able to get a full time job - even with the help of a sister wife you had a good relationship with.  Even though you might intellectually know that women can have good careers and don't need to do this crap the message you heard all your life still resonates.  Hopefully Maddie has had enough exposure to the rest of the world that she is starting to move away from that mindset (we'll see if she starts hawking some other kind of crap after giving up Lulano.)  I think it will be harder for the older girls to get there.  Hopefully, the younger ones haven't been quite so indoctrinated.

Probably not.  Starry-eyed ass kissers just squee with delight at every insipid word she posts.  These are the brain dead people that buy every stupid thing that "influencers" endorse whether they need it or not, whether it works or not, whether it's worth the money or not.  The same cult followers that worship people like the Kartrashians and hang on their every word.

Maybe I'm wrong (I'm admittedly biased against her because of her self-important, I'm-so-woke ramblings) but I suspect this experience is just another thing for Mariah to add to her pedestal of self-importance versus living a conscientious, humble existence.

See I think she's not really any worse than any other wanna be influencer.  Certainly not better, but not significantly worse.  Rather than blathering on about fashions, or decluttering or other trendy things she's blathering on about her "personal journey."  We all knew those people when we were young (maybe we still do) -  those oh so righteous people who cared more for the earth, animals, women's rights, gay rights, social justice, etc. than the rest of us unevolved humans.  They just didn't have social media to expose it to the entire world.

Even the men aren't doing so great under Warren Jeffs right now.  Because he is in prison and can't rape little girls, he decreed that none of the faithful should be having sex, at all.  Wonder how many people are actually going to follow that.  Think there will be a few "wonder how that happened babies showing up?"

I really think that was her rather clumsy way of acknowledging that the whole thing was an epic fail.  She had a vision and completely f'ed it up.  She even admitted it was a good thing she had immunity as it was the worst thing on the runway.  I'm not really a fan of her style but I much prefer it if a designer can just admit everything went wrong rather than trying to defend some atrocity.

  15. I think Sonia was mostly pissed because the "codpiece" was the first thing they commented on and it was her idea.  I get it, she was trying to collaborate and that wasn't her role but for him not to even acknowledge it wasn't his idea originally probably bit.  She then took a little thing and really blew it up.  That said, I want to see ONE challenge where Garo does NOT do some variation on a corset.  I get having a "signature" but he is veering REALLY close to cliché here.  I keep thinking back several seasons where they have had to design for babies and children.  Would he seriously put a corset on a baby?

The way they were editing Sebastien I originally thought the were going to use it as an excuse to get rid of him because it was obvious he was not in to the challenge from the get-go.  Fortunately, half of Sebastien is still better than all of several of the others.

Is the start-up fee fairly reasonable - and is there a monthly fee for having it available and not using it, or no? I read something about a no-use period, that it gets canceled when it isn't used for however many years. TIA.

I wondered if that's what Tokelti are doing (having it but not using it) and then I thought "yeah, no."

We had to pay a very tiny fee for an appraisal - there is no fee to have it and not use it.  Ours is good for 10 years - we can draw on it any time.

They, like all the rest of the Browns, live their life on social media.  If they were buying expensive things or going on expensive trips, etc.  we would probably know.

I thought it was probably a joke, but now that we know T&M already have a second mortgage and a HELOC on the house they bought in 2017, I'm thinking this is how this "banker" frees up money to spend on whatever they want NOW, rather than planning and budgeting for what they want to buy.

Having a HELOC and USING a HELOC are two different things.  We have one and have never used it - it is there in case we need it.  Do we know they used it?

I thought after the wedding the Brown's were all saying "Tony was right, we didn't have enough food"?

The venue came up with something different so it's kind of like comparing apples to kumquats.  They didn't actually order 4000 street tacos they ordered X amount of something else and ran out of food.

But you're right - they didn't order enough food.

When I go to Mexico and eat tacos, 3-4 are a meal for me but I usually include guac and chips with a margarita or Pina colada.

Yum, now I want Mexican food.  You are probably not a big eater - and there probably wasn't guac and chips (or margaritas😰).  I think Tony was trying to be generous - not considering some of the guests were small people or children - probably overestimating by about 1/5 to 1/4 the amount really needed,

I don't know how it works with this MLM but once you sign up under someone, I think you are their recruit whether you like it or not.  I'm not sure you have a choice about whether or not that person gets a percentage of the people you sign up - I think it's company policy and Meri will get the commission.  Someone posted the "structure" and it's very convoluted.  Maybe Meri wanted Christine and Mykelti to sign up under her directly so she would get MORE commission and instead they signed up under Maddie - giving Meri less.

I thought rather than having the tacos made by some caterer they would've been better off hiring a Mexican food truck - preferably one specializing in Al pastor. My apologies to vegetarians, but the epitome of Mexican cuisine to me is Al pastor sliced fresh off the rotisserie before your eyes, rolled up in a fresh corn tortilla with salsa Verde and a tiny slice of pineapple.

They originally wanted a taco truck but the venue wouldn't allow it.  I guess they really wanted that venue and compromised on the taco truck

Many people (I'm not trying to pick on you) have commented on the 4000 tacos.  When I was in Mexico my friend and I went to a place where we were served very tiny tacos - it would have taken at least 3 of these to equal what we thing of as a taco - so when Tony  was saying plan on 10 for each guest, that would have been the equivalent of someone going to a restaurant and ordering one order of tacos - which many times is 3 tacos on the plate.  I think these are what Tony had in mind - NOT the plate the venue ended up supplying.

That plate of "chicken cordon bleu" looks disgusting.  I hope it tasted better than it looked.
