  1. Oh no, we don't have problems with nipples or swearing, we're waaaaay less touchy about that stuff down here. Ru needed to talk more about it being ill fitting and less about the nipples, I think. Also, not exactly refuting those green screen rumours, yiiiiikers.
  2. The issue I personally have with lip syncs is that the finale seems to always be to some big bombastic number or an iconic pop anthem, but not all queens are suited to that kind of LSFYL - but obviously at a live finale a torch song/Broadway mashup final lip synch would be gonzo (but also maybe awesome?!) so I don't know what the answer is either! I think Jinkx beat Shea - I don't think she won against Monet. I thought the same with Raja, that she won her first but that Yvie won the second, but that if you're going off the overall season, then yes, the right two queens won their 'divisions' but that Yvie won NO money? That's unreal to me.
  3. I was at this show!!!!! - also lucky enough to have purchased a ticket in Nov 2019 for this show that then got postponed twice due to a pandemic and then the night it was on, was the night Jinkx Monsoon won All Stars. It was an absolute DELIGHT being there to celebrate Jinkx - after that vid ends, Dela explains that tonight they've decided to throw away their normal show and instead she took a total backseat and let Jinkx drive. She did some torch songs she hasn't done in ages, talked about being on Allstars and they just gabbed about their friendship. It was incredibly gracious of Dela and the most wonderful show of sisterhood, I didn't know I could love them both more.
  4. Yeah, Viv had no light and shade in her comedic timing for me, it was all at 100, so I wouldn't have given her a top 2 spot. I really thought maybe Shea was going to be top two with Raja's take on Nancy from the Craft - Shea did a really great job with the timing in the 'straight' role of the Final Girl, Sydney from Scream trope and her runway made the entire judging panel gasp, so I really didn't get that judging outside of Ru wants the final 4 to be who she wants it to be (why she doesn't want Shea there, I don't quite understand, but you do you, Ru . . . )
  5. I've had tickets to their upcoming tour here in Australia since Sept 2020, it was postponed to Sept 2021 and then again to Sept this year, so fingers crossed they actually make it over this year - PANDEMIC BE GONE.
  6. I love Jinkx SO much, but watching her season is painful, those Queens are fucking awful to her - so to watch her be so embraced and celebrated is just delightful. What a genius pair of performances, retire Snatch Game now Broom!
  7. I thought Ella won the signature, Nurman the technical and Aaron the showstopper and that it was honestly one of the closest and even finals Bake Off has had. I also don't love the winner from a viewer pov as much as Nurman or Aaron - I think she had more peaks and troughs - all those technical wins vs that terrible showstopper of basically a pile of macarons as an example, but she is clearly very talented (I mean the boobs from the first ep!!) so it's fine. It was a lovely season and just the nice tv I needed with *gestures at EVERYTHING* that's going on.
  8. This is the right final three, although I was concerned for Aaron there at the end. I honestly think it's anyone's to win, depending on what they have to do in the final - they all have strengths and weaknesses and it's going to really come down to what they have to bake. I'm happy with either of them winning but I'd rather it be Aaron or Nurman personally . . .
  9. I legit don't understand the judging on this show sometimes - Aaron had decent first bake, came second in the technical but was one of the two names they said was in trouble going into the showstopper? Makes no sense to me at all. Sad to see Jawin go, if only because I will miss his puns dearly.
  10. I'm also watching - I think at this stage it's a fairly obvious top 2 of Ella and Aaron with that third finale spot wide open. I did think Carmel had it locked down until this week - I'd LOVE Jawin to get in there, his flavours seem amazing.
  11. Every time anyone says Ashley 'stole' that money, ends with me screeching at my tv because NO. She was given an option to share the prize money or keep it and she kept it, that's not stealing his money, it was only his money if she chose to share it, it was her money to do with what she wanted, so I haaaaaate when anyone uses that as an excuse to call her untrustworthy or a snake like they did in this ep. Even when CT was saying it wasn't a reason to vote her in, he still said she stole it, I'm just sick of that narrative being part of her storyline every season now. Having said that, I'm all for the Devin plan to vote out past winners, I love watching CT and Smashley play, but I'd like to see someone else win the money (not you, Nany, although she is working much harder for it this season than previous).
  12. I assume that as part of the outfits they were told to bring was something 'blue collar' and not specifically that it had to be blue AND that most of them thought it would be part of a mini challenge because some of those looks were very low key . . . (not you Eureka, that crossing guard was STUNNING.) But the final looks that Ra'Jah, Trinity and Scarlett put together were excellent - I was quite surprised that Scarlett wasn't in the top with that gorgeous gown with Ra'Jah and Eureka.
  13. I like Kita fine, but man alive, I haaaaaaated every single thing she wore except for the week of family resemblance challenge. This was clearly going to be a Scarlet win but the online backlash about her history changed that and rightly - she should never have gotten on the show in the first place - without that, I don't think Kita had a chance to win up against Scarlet's looks and challenge wins. If there's a next time, can we have judges who get that drag here in the Antipodes is quite different, please? Imagine not knowing that a crowd in Geelong watching Art stuff a whole meat pie into her gob, wouldn't be in fucking hysterics, that was TALENT. Michelle understands Drag in the UK because of her time there and it was just painfully apparent the whole season that no one 'got' Aussie or Kiwi drag and they wanted them to be like the US or even the UK, which it really isn't*. (*I can only speak to the drag I've seen here in Australia, but I got the impression drag in NZ is just as camp and daggy, both good things!!)
  14. 'Better The Devil You Know' is classic Kylie, not Danni - but yes, it's so very strange that when covid stuffed up their opportunity to have the Minogues PHYSICALLY in the room with the Queens or Judges, that they then also shunted songs by both to different episodes.
  15. Oh Christ, I know we JUST watched this season but who the hell is (nvm, I remember now and WHOOOOO BOY does my brain just immediately discard contestants names and faces once the season is done!)
