  1. Lulu, I had trouble initially as well! A poster named Willowy gave really good instructions: Find the image you want, upload/drag the photo to Imgur (which is a free service that's easy to register for and allows you to have up to 225 pics hosted at once) Right click on the pic and select the 'copy image url' option Come back here and paste it directly into the reply box
  2. Hmmm...I can't really see it, but maybe Fisher King? Soul Mates? (I'm trying to think of episodes where Reid writes endearingly geeky notes on the board!)
  3. This is your place to gush and snark about various Stargate SG-1 superlatives: Favorite and least favorite seasons, favorite and least favorite episodes, favorite and least favorite characters and intra-team relationships, favorite and least favorite storylines, favorite and least favorite hairstyles...etc. Here's a tough but fun one to kick us off: How you would rank the seasons from your personal favorite to your very least favorite? No ties allowed, of course :)
  4. The good news is that the title amuses me. And since I'll be traveling to Memphis sometime in the next few months, I'm psyched to see an episode that's set there. Seeing Morgan and/or JJ singled out in the episode synopsis always elicits a slight groan from me, but maybe the Morgan subplot will exceed my comfortably low expectations!
  5. I can definitely see where you're coming from, but in S7 Christopher was really ready and eager to settle into a very normal married life in SH or wherever else she wanted. And he never struck me as wanting her to be some sort of adolescent rebel anymore---he actually seemed to adore her as is, and I felt he instinctively 'got' her while Luke just seemed baffled and perpetually annoyed by her---and she seemed so uncomfortable and flat during most of their relationship. I hear what you're saying, but for me these are descriptors that apply to many, many, MANY people. In terms of personalities and interests and their perspectives on the world, they just seemed on different planets to me. I agree that some differences are complementary and can challenge and help one another to be better people, but their differences just seemed to lead--in my UO, obviously---to a depressing lack of connection, spark and common ground. But I'm in the admitted minority who really doesn't like the whole rom-com-y trope of total opposites being destined for each other and how constantly fighting and never having any commonality is the ultimate sign of chemistry...to me, it's just tiresome incompatibility. I do think they'd both be really exhausting to deal with on a daily basis, though: his moody, anger-prone negativity, her irritating rambling, etc. Does being tiresome count as something they both have in common?! ;) That's what makes this stuff interesting, though---it all comes down to subjective perception. I wanted to love Luke/Lorelai as a couple, but I just saw them as wwoefully ill-suited and with less chemistry than I'd have believed possible based on their often sparkly friendship of s1-S4!
  6. Table for three, please! So I have no doubt that Mandy P. is a narcissistic jerk in real life, and do really like Joe Montegna as an actor (er, despite never being able to spell the poor man's last name.) But Gideon was about a million times more layered and compelling a character for me than Rossi. Someone once said something to the effect of that in real life, they'd rather grab a beer with Rossi and Prentiss----but that, as fictional characters, Elle and Gideon were far better defined and more interesting. He and Elle, the show's (gasp) flawed characters, brought a certain edge and energy to the team dynamic and overall show that IMO has been conspicuously missing ever since. Now they're all just blandly, interchangeably awesome in almost every conceivable way, which...*yawn* Amen! And being a "strong", generally root-worthy female character also shouldn't mean being devoid of any sort of salient flaws, which for me just makes a character of either gender dull and unrelatable.
  7. That's it, lulu! I'm not sure yours came out, though :)
  8. I have no clever ideas, but I'm just tiptoeing in to say that I'd love to join you! I've only seen the series once and have a sieve-like memory, so it'll be sort of like having a newbie on board with you. Fair warning: I think S9 was my very favorite season, and I absolutely loved Ark of Truth. In other words, I have odd taste. ;) This is such a mood-boosting show with a sense of fun and wonder so lacking from much of today's grim sci-fi. I'm very excited to rewatch as much of it as I can with you guys!
  9. This was always one of my favorite threads at TWoP, and I have no doubt it will be just as fun and interesting over here! This is the place to confess the TV-related opinions that you've found to be generally unpopular. I'll kick us off with a few random ones: I think Gilmore Girls' generally beloved Luke and Lorelai were one of the most joyless, incompatible, chemistry-free couples I've seen on TV. I loved them as friends, but loathed them as more. I think Lorelai had far more chemistry and connection with the widely reviled Christopher, but I wish she had ended the series single. Speaking of wildly popular couples who were nearly show-ruining for me: Logan/Veronica. Everything about them is tiresome, annoying and even depressing to me. The last two seasons of Stargate, widely regarded as the worst, were my favorites. The very related UO is that I just never warmed up to Jack O'Neil or Richard Dean Anderson's acting and was somewhere between indifferent and relieved when he left the show. I absolutely loved the widely disliked Elle on Criminal Minds. And I'd rather have kept the even more hated Seaver over bringing back JJ. I could never bring myself to muster up even a shred of affection for Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, or most of the other most critically acclaimed dramas of the past couple of decades. I swear that I want to, but even when I can understand objectively why they'd be deemed "high quality," I can just never derive any actual enjoyment from them. Parks and Recreation is sweet, but I can't seem to find it the least bit funny. This season of Community, i.e. Dan Harmon's "triumphant" return, is IMO every bit as bad as last season, if not worse. I'm eager to hear everyone else's unpopular opinions and TV-related confessions!

  11. Welcome, TyranAmiros! It's so fun for us grizzly veterans to hear fresh perspectives from someone who just recently devoured the show. And I'm not just saying that because I happen to share many of your UOs :) What really irks me about the writing and pacing of their S7 relationship is that, IMUO, they seemed so *genuinely* loving and happy for awhile, two people who really did connect and 'get' each other, and it didn't come across to me in the intended 'Lorelai's trying to pretend she's happy but REALLY still misses Luke' way. Lorelai was even compromising a bit, and she just looked and seemed so much more in love than I thought she ever did with Luke. Then it's like the writers belatedly recalled that they have to get rid of Christopher to pave the way for another (ill-advised, IMUO!) reunion with Luke, so that arc felt really rushed, sloppy and contrived to me. As you can see from my posts, I agree wholeheartedly that Luke and Lorelai worked as friends but had less than no chemistry and connection as a romantic couple. For me, it's not the differences in their lifestyles/backgrounds, though---it's their radically different, incompatible personalities, temperaments, and interests. Once they became a couple, they just didn't seem to get each other or make each other happy. And chemistry is always very subjective, but I just don't see any between them...at times it looked like they could barely stand to exchange even a chaste kiss on the cheek! It would have been so refreshingly rare (rare by TV standards, that is) to see them mutually recognize that they just don't click romantically but would love to rebuild their friendship. There's a scene in That's What You Get Folks... (7.2) where Luke explains to TJ and Liz that he and Lorelai just didn't fit, and even though we're supposed to believe he was just trying to convince himself of that to dull the pain, I was nodding along in earnest agreement and thinking that it's the most insightful and self-aware either of them had sounded in quite some time! Heh---I always felt like once Jess left the show, they were kind of at a loss as to what to do with Luke's character and storylines outside of his not-yet-ready-to-act on connection with Lorelai and his lamely halfhearted, clearly ill-fated romance with Nicole. Hence the long lost daughter and the horror that was Liz/TJ :) I'd love to hear your thoughts on Rory, Emily, Paris...etc.!
  12. He also used You're the Inspiration :)
  13. Ha, yes, love the episode and that particular screencap. This should be a fun trip down memory lane! The lovely Willowy is up next :)
  14. The rules are simple! Just post whichever screencap/image you choose, and the rest of us get to guess which episode it comes from. I'll kick us off with an easy one:
  15. The rules are simple: Just post any screencap you choose, and the rest of us get to guess the episode it comes from. Needless to say, I'll be begging for a lot of hints along the way :) Here's one to get us started:
  16. Willowy, look just above you. I think I figured out how to post pictures! This could be a dangerous new skill...
  17. Argh, never mind---I can't seem to link pictures. It was of glasses-wearing Reid, though, in case you guys want to do your own research! I
  18. Yeah, Gideon really did add quite a presence (occasionally too overwhelming a presence!) and made a major difference for me in the overall feel of the show. I *like* Rossi more, if only because of the actor who plays him, but I agree with those who feel that Gideon was a much more complex, compelling and well-developed character. And in many ways Gideon's relationship with Reid is still the very most interesting, touching intra-team relationship in the series' history for me, even after all this time!
  19. I love that idea beyond the telling of it, Willowy. You know you have to write that fanfic, right?! What were people's favorite Diana/Reid scenes of the ones we've gotten so far? (I say 'so far' because I refuse to accept that she's unlikely to reappear!)
  20. Argh---I remember that his friend was named Ethan and that he pointed out our Spencer looked like hell, but I can't recall what they were drinking!
  21. I have never loved you more! I'm endlessly fascinated by the Reid/Diana dynamic, as you know. It's amazing how Diana has made so few appearances, yet made far more of an impression on me than some other CM characters who we've hung out with for almost nine seasons now! Does any non-me person hope to see her again? What kind of Reid/Diana scenes or storylines would you want to see?
  22. Awww, one of my first TV Girlcrushes! Which episode is that from, Willowy? Or do we have to guess?! It's funny, because I had reservations about Lola Glaudini's acting at first, but now I feel like she was a pretty ideal fit for that particular role. And I'm also feeling like I need to watch Derailed this weekend...for the millionth or so time :)
  23. I love the picture, though I've got an admittedly weird preference for short hair over long hair as a general rule, even on men as gorgeous as MGG. And somehow it just fits better with Reid's character for me---and maybe with the fact that he's an FBI agent in general---to have shorter hair. Fortunately, since MGG is forever changing the length and style, fans of all different types of Reid hair will eventually be satisfied :) I know it's hard to talk about favorite Reid scenes since for many of us there are too many to narrow down, but Willowy posting a picture of Hotch from Figher King Pt II in another thread (and thank you for that!) reminded me of just how much I adore that final scene between Spencer and Diana. It still touches and affects me even after seeing it a million times by now.
  24. Oh, Willowy, I absolutely love that scene! It's so quintessentially Hotch: quietly and stoically determined to do the right thing regardless of how unpleasant and difficult it may be, fierce in his mannerisms yet with a surprisingly kind heart. When and if I figure out how to post images, we can have a ridiculously fun time guessing which episode a given screencap was taken from.
