  1. Maddie called from upstairs, "mom, it smells like the dinner nachos are burning", jolting Janelle out of her reverie to realize she will have to stir her stumps and make a run to the supermarket for more Velveeta and corn chips.

Meri was the master at manipulation until it bit her in the ass and she's been whining about it ever since. She knew what she was getting into, allowed Kodoofus to play the polygamy card and then tortured Janelle mercilessly.  She's the one that chose Sobyn and then proceeded to ramp up the bitch quotient even further when she fell out of favor.  She acquiesced to the divorce and then tried the "you'll miss me when I'm gone" threat that backfired because her lover boy was a big fat fake.  She's the cause of all of her troubles so I have not an ounce of sympathy for her.  If she had half a backbone she's walk but she won't.  She'd have no one to mope around, not that anyone in the family seems to care anymore.

They are freaking 20 years old, not 70 years old.  They insisted on the big blow out party and had just gone through the extremely taxing process of exchanging vows that took, what, 15 minutes?  Wait until they face the realities of married life that includes working for a living and keeping a home.  Wait, what I am I saying.  These are Brown Clowns.  No work, probably living with mommy as long as the TLC checks are coming in. Silly me.

Oh KOHOLA3, you and I are on the same wave length. I was trying hard to compose a response to the sympathy for Meri comments, but you said it much more eloquently than I ever could.  If I could add another observation about Meri, it would be the deceit that she practiced while engaging with "Sam", I totally lost respect for her in that scenario.  If she was unhappy in her 'marriage', get the hell out before ensuring that you have a soft place to land.  That's what her idealized "Strong Woman" would do.

Right? Lenders must realize the show won't last forever and lenders typically like stability. All they really have is the show, none of them seems to have a sustainable, long-term income. What do the Browns have up their sleeves that they were able to purchase 4 new homes and now a B&B? We've all agreed the B&B won't be a B$B.

.Part of me loves snarking on the Brown circus, but the other part wants to see what happens when the show is over.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, back to food stamps we go...

So, seeing the previews for the next episode (and I can't believe I didn't notice last episode), it looks like Meri has no natural eyebrows. They just look thinly penciled in. With all the eyebrow places in town, you'd think she'd get it right at some point. They're usually too thick, too thin and she almost always overshoots the natural arc.

You would think that she would try to give Mariah one less thing to belittle her about.

Those brows are straight out of 1930's Hollywood...maybe she spends her lonely evenings watching old romantic comedies.

While we have never been privy to comped vs. paid, the downfall of other D list reality "stars" makes it pretty obvious that all of these things are not paid for by TLC.  Yes, items and venues may give discounts because their name brand is prominently displayed but I would be hugely surprised if any of this comes for free.  Case in point was the crappy place they stayed on their Hawaiian vacation.  Dolllars to donuts TLC refused to pick up the tab and the Brown Clowns had to stay in a cut rate, rundown place at their own expense.  The houses were mortgageb with the funny money loans and I get foreclosure is on the horizon the minute that TLC hits the delete button.

As AZChristian points out, there are public records showing their abysmal record in the finance department.  I bet there will be bankruptcies galore once the gravy train is parked on a siding.

Kody was seething with barely concealed rage at the indignity of being housed in such substandard accommodations in Hawaii.  That was the episode where he lashed out at Logan for having the audacity to consume pork at the luau (contrary to Kody's alleged biblical beliefs).

I think that was also the episode where King Kody was not amused over the hijinks Meri and Janelle were up to with the eyebrows.

Ooh, this is a really good point! Meri is already away from home a good portion of the time. She's already away from "the family." What difference would another business make?

It seemed to me that Kody was almost gleeful about the concept, until he found out that his financial involvement was requested.  Then he knit his furrowed brow in alarm.

And they always refer to them as "the homes" instead of "the houses".  Before they owned them they were houses, and then they became homes.

It wasn't really "home" to Meri until she got herself to the the gift shoppe to buy all the inspirational plaques to adorn her walls.

I think that's a really cute picture but is it normal to be exhausted just after the ceremony?

If they were that exhausted after ceremony, just think of how they would be after madcap dance routines Christine no doubt choreographed for the reception.

    They aren't.

Public record shows the owner as Meri "an unmarried woman".

The whole concept of Meri going hat in hand to the group seemed bogus to me.  Just where would they come up with the funds...SW Closet?  Income from Strive with Janelle?  Re-mortgage their homes?  I would imagine it takes every cent they earn from TLC to maintain the McMansions.

I wonder if that's why there is now chatter about Meri's mom replacing Annie as the host/manager, she apparently sold her home in Lehi and that may be where the funds came from.

“He wants to stay relevant to TLC,” Kendra told Life & Style, adding that Robyn threatened to divorce Kody if he welcomed new women into their home. “If he takes on new wives, she said she’ll leave. This isn’t what she signed up for.”

Just read this and it's probably been discussed to death but.............. what the HECK?  SHE came in as number FOUR and yet she has the nerve to say this?  What a freaking hypocrite!

Take anything Kendra says with a grain of salt, I don't believe she has an 'in' with Robyn any longer.

As far as Robyn being a hypocrite, she came in with an agenda to become #1 wifey and she won...but just consider the prize.

OH YES - I've heard many good things about Annie's bags!!

So.... is this "Closet" and TLC the only way the family supports themselves?

Not sure how much if any, income is being generated with Strive by Janelle.  Meri appears to have done well with LLR, but don't know if she is expected to throw her profits into the communal pot.

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but in your opinion why?  I was under the impression that the items are too pricey.

They originally came to market with items designed by themselves in sterling silver, priced in the $100. range, when similar items could be purchased at Walmart for $25.  When their fan base absorbed all they could of the $100. items, they switched to tacky jewelry made off shore that could be purchased at any flea market.  There is a limit to what people will pay simply for the cachet that the item has passed through the hands of a Brown.

IMO, the only items priced in the ball park of good value and reasonably unique were Annie's bags, but they seem to have fallen by the wayside.

How many times can one individual use the word "actually" in one short video?

The most positive thing I could say about the video is that Meri actually appeared animated and that she cleared her throat before speaking.  She normally sounds as though she is gargling.

  14. Thank You for starting a fresh new thread for this season's antics of the Brown Ones GC.  I have a feeling that we will see performances unlike previous episodes as they have been given a jolt with the 'will they/won't they' be renewed saga.  With the addition of Seeking Sister Wives to the TLC roster, the Browns will be forced to amp up their nonsense to hold the viewers attention.

  15. Inquiring minds want to know.  Did this branch of the family practice polygamy?  We see the marriage certificate, so safe to assume that if they did, Lizzie would have been a first/legal wife.  We see a Sarah room, Bee room, East room and Grandma room but why not name all the rooms for each of the anxious occupants if that was the case.

I don’t understand how she could be approved to buy it.  With her huge mortgage on her credit.  She must be able to pass debt to income standards.  How, boggles my mind.

I wonder if because it was a viable business when she bought it would have any bearing on loan.  If she rented 8 rooms a week at $150. that would gross her about $1200. per week, all she would have to do would be to convince the lender that she would operate the business as diligently as previous owners.  Unless she has someone else manage the B&B and hire people for cleaning and laundry, her expenses should be minimal.  Just slam down some tater tots and mock tapioca puddin' at the guests for breakfast and send them on their Meri way.

brealI don't get this B & B.  Was the house in the family?  Where did she get the $$$ from?

I don't know where the money came from, could it be LLR?  The home had passed out of the family after 4 generations, according to what I have read and was operating as Victoria's Bed & Breakfast (website still up) when Meri bought it.  Meri carried on about all the hard, hard work she had put into this effort, but the only changes I see comparing the two websites are new beds and bedding.  Same dated wallpapers, with faux wainscotting and ceiling borders.  No pictures I have seen of Meri's kitchen or bathrooms, so that may have been a renovation.   Possibly what she meant by hard work was flogging all those LLR leggings to make the downpayment.  I can't help but wonder if Kody is financially involved, he was front and center at the ribbon cutting.
