I already miss Ro and Didi. Didi's enthusiasm and joy of playing is what this team always needs. Romine is a solid catcher and fairly disciplined at the plate in the last 2 yrs or so. I always have an image of solid guys behind the plate in Detroit. He will look good in that home uni of the Tigers which is just as iconic as the Pinstripes in terms of identifying a team. I wish they would do something about those road unis. They are awful.

Re Nicky, I think it's possible that he may not be "with" Rebecca at all. Besides the kids and if Miguel is dead Nicky would be the one last connection to the Jack she never knew. He would be able to tell her about how close they were as brothers and all the things he did to protect him and their mon from their abusive dad. And she in turn could fill in the blanks about the Jack he didn't get to know better. Does this all belong in the speculation thread? I'll move it if so.

Inter-league play has ruined it. I didn't like the previous incarnation of just a week or two of games or whatever it was but I would gladly take it over the season long current situation. The separation of leagues is what made Saturday's Game of the Week so exciting to watch back in the Curt Gowdy days. It applies to the All Star game as well. Even living in the NYC area where I could watch both Yankees and Met games it was still fun to tune into the ASG to see the NL players like Bench, Clemente, etc.

I am guessing no one in the NBA fandom even knows that there is another team in NYC that is playing fairly good ball these days. They don't always play great like the Celtics game and last night's Orlando game (comeback from 21 points down) but they find ways to win and are finally one over .500. The Knicks can lose every game from now until the end and the Nets could get a playoff spot and the media would still treat the Knicks as the biggest story in town. I have no illusions of a deep playoff run or of them even making it but they play hard and look like they are having fun. I wonder what will happen when Caris Levert returns. It fun so far.

And don't forget the "interlocking NY" cap he wore a number of years ago.

At least here in NYC the Yule log was strictly a WPIX channel 11 thing and WPIX was the Yankees station so SNY be fronting. Just sayin'.

Brewers do not tender Jonathan Schoop. He is a FA. Hmmmm, I see him fitting in on Yanks. Plays various positions, I think. Plus he is great friends with Didi. What's not to love especially without Torreyes.

Glad McCann is winding it down in ATL. I really liked him when he was a Yankee. Team player. I guess Donaldson's shoulder woes are history, yes? Toe, we hardly knew ye. So well liked by his team mates and when he was sent to AAA the team played listless ball. I miss the Didi, Judge, Starlin,Torreyes cameraderie from 2017. Cubs better treat him right.
