Also, did anyone else see this? I'm definitely underwhelmed with Simone. Lol

actually, I like Simone's dancing here, I'm not saying that Jenna is bad here, but comparing the two here she danced like she was trying too hard.   Simone was smoother and prettier and more natural.

That first group were kind of boring, totally phoning it in, going through the steps. The second group had a lot of energy. Much more fun to watch.

and yet I saw it totally opposite.  IMO Lacey's group was so much better than the second group (Jenna's) because Lacey's was more in sync than Jenna's.   Yes Jenna's group had more "action" but all of that "extra" action make them look more out of sync.  again my opinion.

    • I've watched this since season one and would like someone to explain to me why "blending" is negative?  Back in my high school performance days (we're talking many decades of course *L*) the coaches WANTED blenders because we were all supposed to perform exactly the same way.  No one was allowed to stick out as in no extra "pops" or kick higher than another as you would then look like you were making a mistake compared to the others.   Now for show group that would be different since you have opportunities for solo or duo performances.

That could be too. I noticed Kelsey did not get called out for anything this TC;  just the little office chat at the beginning and no bacon comments.

Probably why Emily Claire (season 7?) made it.  She wasn't that great of a dancer but Kelli said she had "male appeal".

I guess it's safe to say we're NEVER going to get an explanation about Erica.  Just tweeted Kelli and Judy to see if they'd answer back.

I agree.  Kelsey may have "meh" dance skills as far as Judy is concerned, but not only does she bring to the table what Charlotte likes, the calendar good looks (which is why Meagan Flaherty was brought back to TC so often), but she also is very personable to people and works well with "guest appearances" such as the Veteran Hospital visit.

  4. Sorry so long:

unpopular opinion my All time favorites:

Kandi Harris - I loved that she didn't have the "DCC look" but she was a powerhouse dancer.

Natalie Woods - loved her looks, personality and perseverance

Brooke Sorenson - She tended to blend but her fun loving personality won me over

Melissa Rycroft - she always had a smile even when the bosses didn't really like her.

Abigail Klein - she was a shoo-in based on her looks but turned out to be an excellent dancer too and used it as a stepping stone to acting.

Loni Lindsey - didn't have the "DCC look" because she looked "old" but loved her personality

Meagan Sharp - not a stand out personality or dance wise, but she looked like she could handle whatever they threw at her.

Tia Williams - she looked like she was always having fun

Jacki Bob - same as Tia

Ann Lux - - Same as Meagan Sharp - not a stand out but loved the "attitude".

Brittany Schram - She had the DCC look they were after as well as maturity

Mackenzie Lee - looks, personality, perseverance.

Danielle Marie - I was/am envious of her hair!

Loren Roeder - not sure why but, but was rooting for her.

    Holly Powell - powerful dancer

    Kelsey Lowrance - Stunning beauty

Maddie M - non DCC looks but loved her personality and perseverance

Yuko - terrible dancer but love her personality.

I guess based on the list above I tended to prefer the "older" girls and girls that didn't have the DCC look.

I absolutely despise the hair whipping of late.  I mean sure, it's okay to have a few that do that, but the majority??? not so much. Wish they would make over the girls with hairstyles that actually flatter them.  Also have some of them use ponytails for heaven's sake!.  Most don't look good with long hair.  I'm not a big fan of Christina personally but her shorter hairstyle absolutely flatters her.  Most of them have too thin hair for the long hair look.

Wish they would make the shorts bigger.  I mean yeah, they look great on Jinelle who is a teeny tiny under weight person, but absolutely horrible on Kashara, who looks like she is actually at a more 'healthy" weight.

Also, comparing the "foot attire" to other cheerleader organizations, I think the cowboy boot is much more flattering than the normal dance/cheer boot.

And on another note: hate the Yes Ma'am", not only because it sounds ridiculous, but also the way they use it 80% of the time the girls do not appear to have a clue as to what K&J are talking about. This "Yes Ma'am" thing doesn't appear to allow them the opportunity to give a response of "I'm confused, can you show me?"

I guess I am just racking my brain for a logical reason that has not been mentioned already as to why she hasn't been acknowledged. Yes, I know it's just a stupid TV show and they don't "owe" me an explanation, but when a reality show doesn't align with reality it really bothers me. And when seemingly simple things don't make sense, it bothers me even more.

My two cents:  I think the reason why Kaitlin Legrand and Courtney Cook were discussed is because both had non DCC related personal issues.  Therefore K&J come off as caring employers.  I understand (although not exactly agree) that weight issues are a "minor DCC issue" and can get you cut IF there are better possible candidates to bring to training camp.  The Holly Jenna issue was a major DCC infraction, yet they ultimately only blamed Holly for the infraction and, based on what aired, only punished Jenna's leadership skills.  The DCC want to show that these type of infractions are punishable, but don't want to appear to the public that it runs rampant throughout the DCC. Which would explain why a few weeks later with Erica's infraction was just not discussed period.  I'm sure Kelli has some say on what is aired on CMT and since they gave CMT enough "juicy" stuff with Holly/Jenna saga that she felt she was within her right to ask Erica be edited out completely.  CMT doesn't want to tick off the DCC organization since they need their permission to even have this show.

  6. I liked this episode because it was mostly dancing and actually focused on the girls performing a lot more as opposed to the split seconds we have seen in the first few episodes.

Although I agree that Taryn is a "blender" dancer, I feel she should not have been cut before Savannah as I think she was better than her and certainly better than Christina.  IF Taryn had a more "unique to DCC" hairstyle she may have stood out a bit more and not have blended so much.  I also feel that K&J didn't really care for her personally and that is why they didn't seem to have any qualms cutting her and did not ask her to audition next year .

I think K&J really like Christina and that due to the veteran exits they felt they had a reasonable excuse to keep her.

In regards to Savannah, even though they specifically told her that "package deals" don't get you on the team, I think they made an exception and kept her specifically because of Tara.

Although I do agree that Keyra makes mistakes, I think her mistakes are not very blatant as others and her bubbly personality shows better (similarly to Kashara) on the field.  Also, I don't mind that she does not have the "DCC look" because to me they should have a diverse looking group aka:  Tall, short, heavier, skinnier, short hair, long hair, all hair colors. They should have people that are the "whole package" so some maybe weaker in looks, or dancing, or media.  But the whole package should at least meet a "minimum standard" in dancing.  Which means you should be able to dance/blend with the rest of the group.

Side note:  I was very surprised that during the show group performance the camera was often on Jenna.  I mean, I like watching her dance, but I don't think she is THAT much better than anyone else in the group.  Plus, since she was in so much trouble in previous episodes, I thought spotlighting her was counterproductive.

Also during the show group performance I got a kick out of Judy holding herself back when she wanted to scream directions at them.

  7. I enjoyed this show.  I'd rate it as my second favorite due to all of the dancing it showed which is what I prefer.  I am new to this board this year and did not even know it existed.  I've enjoyed watching the show since the first season and I'm not sure why because I'm not a Dallas Cowboy fan.  NFL fan yes, Dallas, no.  I had no idea that K&J were only at a few practices a week! I am shocked.  However, now all of the comments from TCC "I'm nervous when I have to dance in front of you" make sense.  I can understand why Kelli is not there on an every evening basis.  But what about Judy? What does she do when Kelli is not watching the practices?

I now understand why Kashara was given point.  She doesn't necessarily need to be the "best" dancer, she needs to be good enough to hold her own, she is obviously approachable in terms of personality and does not appear to "show her nerves" on camera and I guess that is what they want this year in the "point" person since Jenna blew her opportunity.  I think K&J are very happy with Jinelle and Lacey as leaders (based on Canton) on the field this year and maybe did not want to give them the "added" pressure of the point position.

IMO Shelly did the right thing.  More than likely she was "in charge" while K&J were in Canton.  When an employee is in a leadership position, they are usually asked to provide feedback on those under them.  This would include the group leaders.  Since K&J are not there for every practice I'm sure they ask the GLs their opinion on the girls in their group both positive and negative.

Jenna, *SMH*, talk about bad timing.  I'm not a Jenna fan since the "incident" and feel that she should have been cut.  However, since she was not cut, she does not appear to have learned a lesson.  When she said "I wish I had worded that better" she should have indicated how she would have worded that better.  If she had then she may have been able to dig herself out of the hole she dug.  Jenna has been on the team for 5/6 years.  After that amount of time you should be bringing to the table more than your "dancing skills" you should have improved in media and leadership.  Which to me is why they felt that she should come back for this year in hopes she was ready to be a "leader".  Clearly she was not which is more than likely the reason they are "done" with her.  They'll keep her instead of cutting her because they have a "business need" of very good/excellent dancers.

I completely understand why they brought Keyra in the office based on the pictures.  She is all about power, and the DCC is in some desperate need of power this year and she fills that need.

I think their shorts are TOO short.  They're practically panties with a belt.

I find it odd, after many years of watching this show, that for outfits that are "custom made" don't seem to look like they are fitted to each girl.  For example, sometimes when you look at photos taken of the girls on the field you will see the back side of a few here and there and their rear end will be hanging out of the shorts.  Also, the blouses "ties" hang down to the waist of some girls and not so much on others.  And (I would assume it would be due to some girls having a longer or shorter torso) depending on the girl her shorts may top out at either below the hip, at the hip or at the waistline which creates a muffin top look on some of the girls.

Obviously performing on the field no one is going to notice from the stands, but during photos/close ups, or show group, it is noticeable.

  9. Absolutely loved this episode, showing all dancing and blocking.  I wish the majority were this way.

I enjoy watching them actually perform.

So glad Holly quit and Kelli spoke about it and moved on.  Also, good for Holly that she has moved on from the area.  I wish her the best of luck.  She's very talented, and as long as she has learned a lesson from this, then she should be just fine.

Really wish Jenna had done the same. Since CMT only showed Jenna hugging Kashara it looked fake and it appeared to me like she was looking for K&J like...see? I'm being nice!  If other girls congratulated/hugged Kashara CMT should have showed that.

I feel for Brennan.  It's a shame her looks (something she cannot help) keeps her off the team.  It's one thing I do not like about the show, that looks are very important.  Christina, Lauren will make the team because of their (unusual for DCC) hairstyles & Savannah because of her experience and hair color.  I love Lauren (her attitude, abs, hair) but she does seem to make a lot of mistakes.

I'm happy for Kashara, it's obvious that she is a Kelli favorite.  Also, I'm very happy that they show Maddie often as well as she has improved significantly since last year. It was nice to see them bring Tasha in for positive feedback.  I think they should do a little bit more of that.

  10. The Demi singer segment - Although I understand why the DCC were there, I thought the whole thing was rather awkward and boring.

The Star tour - I thought the tour was fine until they gathered around to touch the star.  That was rather creepy.

The cycling segment - I enjoyed this segment and felt it was totally appropriate since Christina was told about stamina and performance.

Raelynn segment - I think she was the worst guest so far.  She brought absolutely nothing to the episode.  She couldn't even give an opinion to K&J about who stood out in their performance and why.

Holly/Jenna segment - Oh boy.  I feel both should have been cut.  Holly, obviously for her lying and fraternization and although they didn't state underage drinking, Kelli brought out a list of establishments which insinuates to me bars/pubs.  Jenna, as a group leader and older (both in age and DCC experience) should have either a) never have brought an under age person to a bar/pub or b) if Holly showed up at the bar/pub you are partying in then, as a leader, you should have told Holly, hey, this is not right so let's both leave and go hang out at somewhere else (age appropriate)t.  If Holly refuses to leave, that's her right but at least you are no longer encouraging/condoning such behaviors.

  11. I'm not a big fan of Gina, but the girl can dance just fine.  I don't have any problem with her not "knowing" anything personal about the girls.  Her current focus is on make the team, if she makes it, THEN she can become besties (fake or real) with whoever on the team she wants. I do agree with Kitty that she has RBF, but I'm okay with it as long as she can perform well, as most people cannot control their face type.

Alexandria - I liked her at first but her current hair/make up/and tarantula lashes do not do her any favors. Personally, I have rarely seen fake eyelashes that actually improve the look of a woman, but then I'm old school and feel the natural look is best.

I was really disappointed with the lack of time spent on the actual cameos, I don't need to see them getting their make up/hair styled as I would have preferred to see every TCC and their cameo shoot.

I'm not a MRS hater, but really feel she didn't bring much to the episode.

I actually liked this guest choreographer the best, but really, don't need to know who he choreographed for, except for the part of being in Kitty class.

I totally enjoyed the etiquette class.

I do agree with others that Lauren's hair looks dated, but the look flatters her and makes her stand out in the crowd.  I have liked her from day one along with Keyra and Kalyssa.

  12. I kind of feel sorry for Judy in her position.  Kelli's job is the overall squad, i.e. DCC looks and PR. Whereas Judy's focus is on the performance itself.  So when K & C insist on keeping what Judy may consider a "subpar" performer she's stuck with trying to get that person to improve or move her somewhere her mistakes won't stand out.  So during the training camp what you hear most from Kelli is "does she have power/pop or does she blend" and Judy is all, mistake, messy, slow learner, low kicks etc..  Each are looking for something a bit different from the same group of girls.

I feel like anyone who has ever gone to college and/or does math know they "full time job or full time student" thing is fake. If these girls were actual full time students you would see them graduate in four years. If these girls were graduating college, they would exploit it. That is what that scene with milan was. She was asked about it because they wanted her to talk about it on camera.

I didn't think it was a requirement.  My memory may be wrong, but I seem to recall that one TCC (a few years ago) told Kelli that because her family was financially supporting her that she could dedicate all of her time to focus on making the team.  I am thinking her father found an apartment for her and helped move her in.

  14. I thought this episode moved better compared to previous episodes.  I am so glad Brianna is finally gone. I was never a an of hers and thought she and Erin should have been released the same week.  IMO not only was she not even close to being DCC ready (same as Erin) she was too immature to be on the team. I think Brianna is very talented in her field and I definitely do not hold the fact that she does not cook against her as a lot of children that are involved/dedicated to extensive extra curricular activities may not have time to indulge in learning how to cook.  I think she needs to either go to college or stick to something closer to home for more support until she gains some life experiences.

Although the Vet segment was nice, I felt it did not belong on CMT MTT but would have been better filmed by the DCC organization and placed on their facebook/website page as PR.  The DCC org has lots of money comparatively speaking to other NFL cheerleader teams, and should be placing stuff like this and USO tour performances on their facebook/website. Related issue: I also don't understand why their halftime performances/show group performances are not filmed and placed on their websites.  The DCC organization is always saying how they are "Americas sweethearts", if so then promote it!

I agree with others in regards to the uniforms with the XX laces on the shorts.  Very distracting and not flattering.  Another gripe:  I dislike all the "hair whipping".  I think some of those girls would do better if they didn't feel the need to whip 3-4 feet length of hair around. :-)

"Next Week:  "There's a lot going on in French Onion soup" Natalie Wood"

OMG I LOVED Natalie Woods.  She is one of my all time favs, along with Kandi Harris and Mackenzie Lee. They all had issues (Kandi was too boxy for the uniform but was an excellent dancer, Natalie Woods, Judy and Kitty didn't care for her dancing, but she looked great in the uniform and Mackenzie was so short and didn't have high enough kicks but otherwise an excellent dancer). *L*

  15. It may be my bad memory, as I don't re-watch seasons, but I have to agree with Jess14 that K&J seem to put more emphasis lately on beauty now as opposed to talent, although I do remember them bringing back a girl (Meghan?) to TC several years because she had "calendar girl" looks, but because she never had enough "talent" to make the team she would get cut.

Most of the time when I'm watching the group perform on the field, all I see is hair whipping around.  You can't really tell who is marking time and who is doing all the "pops".  Now show group or other smaller venue performances, then maybe looks/performance/public speaking might matter more but to me, since looks are subjective, in order to make the team talent should outweigh looks.

I think the show is grappling with the age of social media, similar to everyone else lol. Along with the tv show, social media helps the team reach a much wider audience. However, they can go back and edit the show, but they can't take back all of those instagram/Facebook/twitter posts that they blasted out to their fans. They can't hide the fact that 3 of their most popular and prominent dancers are suddenly missing, while they're simultaneously blasting out pics and videos of the team with them missing. So the question is, how (if) will they address it on the show?  I think the group leader switch (which appeared to be last minute) regarding Erica/Kashara is a hint that we won't see anything about the Erica situation but we'll see. It's up to the show and their right to show what they want, however, we all know it's out there at this point.

As for the show, it's kind of boring, but I think some of it is due to the show focusing heavily in the first few episodes on people who didn't make training camp and/or we know will get cut (Brianna). It's still interesting enough to keep my attention for now! I gave up on Big Brother (my summer reality show since 2001) weeks ago because it was so boring and had too much produced interference, but I'm still here lol.

I've watched every season, and I agree that this is not one of their better seasons thus far..  I really want to see more of the girls performing.  I don't mind back stories, but I really want to compare the TCC's against each other and the vets during their performances.  I want to see what K&J see, \ I'd also like to see strugglers working with their group leaders to try to improve.

  17. Surprisingly, I liked Kitty this episode and I liked some of the odd moving along the floor thing (most of them do these in their solos). I think she was extremely helpful explaining to the candidates what they were weak in and how to add the power/pop.

I still enjoy seeing the guest choreographers come in and teach and help "judge" the girls that night. It's nice to see them doing something "different".

And Judy's remark about Brianna can look you directly in the eye and still do it wrong....OUCH.

Why make a "big deal" about makeovers when you aren't making any obvious changes???? Even Savannahs change was not much of a change overall.  It was more of a change comparatively speaking to the others, but it wasn't anything drastic like they've done in the past seasons.  Some of these girls needed some length taken off especially if they cannot control it from falling into their face.

  18. The good news for Holly is...she's only 20, as long as she has no criminal records she should be just fine.  She's going to enter the workforce as an entry level employee and "most" employers really don't expect much from 20 year olds/entry level employees other than:  here are the rules....we reserve the right to terminate you if you do not follow the rules.  I'm sure she'll figure it all out eventually, as most people do.

  19. I'm not a big fan of Kitty Carter but she does make "great tv"  I could be miss remembering, but back in season 2 or 3 when Natalie Woods was trying out how KC was always so down on her, then a couple years later on the show (after NW had retired) there is KC and NW hugging and talking like they were the best of friends!  Which makes me believe that maybe some of KC's antics are just for show?  I have never seen her on anything other than MTT, so I'm only seeing a small snippet of her personality.  For all I know she could be a cuddly soft hearted person outside of DCC and her studio.

  20. I'm not sure why Erin and Brianna were even invited into training camp.  They should be the first two to be booted.  There is no way the two of them can switch from lyrical to rock/country in 8 weeks.  They need another year of practice that is non lyrical.  Don't get me wrong, I think Erin is cute and Brianna is absolutely adorable, but neither are even close to DCC ready.

I love Lauren and her Farrah hair, it needs a bit of length cut off, but otherwise I really enjoy watching her.

Kalyssa & Keyra were both awesome and will bring the necessary showmanship to the team. Gina is really cute, but didn't see enough of her performances.

I like Tara and Savannah, I think Tara will make the team, but not confident that Savannah will make it as she seems a bit off talent wise compared to other rookies near her.

Also like Madeline, Alexandria, and Miranda.

I was not a fan of most of the alumni during the practice session.  However, I feel they brought a lot to the table during the meeting with K&J and the critiques during TC.  I thought Tina was great as she was encouraging as opposed to discouraging to the girls and looked like she was really having fun.  The other more recent alumni seemed to take the session very critically.  I was never a fan of Cassie, and she didn't not change my mind at all on this show.

Okay question to the forum.  the back wall with the triangle cheerleader pics third panel from the left.  Jenna maybe?  Does she have a massive scar along the right side of her belly?

Also, I'm not sure all of the fuss over Tasha and Stephanie weight as I saw a few other vet belly "jiggles" , including Holly and Jenna as they were dancing around.  You tell them at weigh in...uhm you've gained some weight, better lose it in the next few weeks or you're off the team.  No need to call them into the office on it.
