  1.  I just have to say:   I absolutely HATE the cut of these “shorts” (I don’t even know why they call them "shorts").  They are cut more like "underwear" on the back side (so they can bend and squat and not show the crack).

Yes, I agree, from the front they look just fine on most of the girls, but I wish they would wear actual shorts, that are cut the same back to front.

I love the tops (they flatter every shape) and the boots (they don’t flatter short legged people though).  I know this is Texas and that cowboy boots are the most appropriate, but just for curiosity sake, would ankle boots flatter every leg type: long, short, thick or thin?

  2. Maddie is my favorite this year (I do tend to change each year).  She is so cute, always appears to be enjoying herself, has a (IMO) a “healthy looking body type” (meaning I can’t count every rib nor do I see a “muffin top”), when she dances it appears as if it comes natural to her (meaning she is not “over dancing” or “trying too hard” and throwing herself off balance or out of sync with the other girls). In just about every picture in the gallery, linked below, she looks like she is having so much fun (her whole face is “lit up” as opposed to just “pasting on a smile”).

To me, when they are performing on the field as one large group or in their smaller “groupings” they should be “performing as one”.  Meaning their bodies/arm movements/foot position should be practically identical. Show group (if you are good enough dancer to make it) is the opportunity to “show off” your individuality and specialty talents.

Using the gallery photos as a reference:

    Pic 34 of 34

All four girls pictured are practically in the exact same position: in the air, arm position, foot position and body alignment.

    https://www.dallascowboys.com/photos/dcc-detvsdal-game-day-gallery-presented-by-ideal-dental?sf198978792=1#9b1f861c-459f-40f6-965c-b3db1058e0d9

compare the above to pic 26 of 34

the first (front) row of four girls are practically “in sync” with their body alignment, arm position, leg/foot position (the only obvious difference is the first two closest to camera have straight back legs whereas the two girls farthest from the camera have bent back legs).

But the girls (second row) behind them are completely “out of sync” with each other with the exception of their arm positions.

For the third row (you can only see two girls the leg/foot positions) they appear to be in sync with the girls in the front row.

Granted from the stands you won’t be able to tell that anyone is out of sync, but if I were Judy/Kelli, I’d be using these photos and forwarding them to the girls as critiques for each of the girls (good and bad) throughout the performance year.

    It's also KaShara's birthday.

ok, not being negative here, just asking a question as I'm "old".  Isn't their mascara and eyeliner more of a "night time" look?.  I know they go through "make up lessons" and such.  But it just seems out of sync with their light colored lips and faces.  Way back in the "old days" we had "day time" looks and "night time" looks.

    Thanks

  4. So far I have not seen the "entitlement" on the show by VK. (obviously my only "window" is the show other than what I see in the forums)  What I have seen is an immature teenager who has been "groomed/assumed" all of her life to become DCC. She has known the people in the DCC organization all of her life.  So she feels very comfortable in their presence; which is why IMO she is always in the front row whenever possible while dancing/learning and why she is very at ease talking with K&J in the office.

    Just my two cents.

PS: I don't dislike her, but at the same time I don't think she is mature enough (nor talented enough at this time) to be on the team.  However, there are many people that have made the team that I didn't think should be there.  *shrug*

  5. Is it just me or does Judy seem very quiet the last few seasons?  I mean she still says they are "messy" or "you made a lot of mistakes". But other than that she has had very few comments when a girl is being cut other than..."she's pretty".  A couple times I've heard her say something along the lines of "I never saw what others saw in her". but again, that was always after a decision was made.  Unlike Kitty who breezes in every season and says...cut this girl because of this, that girl because of that etc.

Even though Judy is always present during any discussions I rarely hear any substantial comments from her like she did during the first several seasons.

Just looking at her ribs all stretched out like that have my own ribs cringing at the thought and I'm just sitting relaxing in my recliner! *L*

I've struggled morally with the show, pro cheerleading, and with this board. Chiefly, because BEING PRETTY IS NOT A CHARACTER TRAIT.  It is a genetic blessing (or a good surgeon). If a woman is of average looks or has an ounce of fat, she doesn't need to be banished.

Dayton is certainly very pretty, with a unique look. I don't care. They have cut absolutely stunning ladies. I have never seen Dayton dance, so I have ZERO information on whether her cut was justified. The argument that she is sooo pretty is just weak to me.

I am definitely not anti-Dayton. She seems like a lovely, well-rounded young lady. I wish her well and hope she re-auditions, if that is her goal.

I'll be interested to hear what Judy has to say. IMHO Judy focuses on the dancing, and not all the other BS. If she's doubtful of Dayton, I'll accept it regardless of her edit.

I agree with you that being pretty is not a character trait.  Also, "pretty, gorgeous, cute, beautiful, ugly" etcetera is purely subjective.  One persons pretty is another persons ugly or average.  I have never had any issue with anyone's "looks" over the seasons of MTT. However, I do understand from a business perspective that the DCC organization is in the business of selling a visual product via the calendar and performances.

I agree too that Judy just focuses on the dancing/performing and Kelly and Charlotte focus on the looks (who looks good in the uniform, calendar) as well as those who will be good public ambassadors.

That dark roots thing seems to be the trend now.  My daughter is going today to have her hair turned blonde with the shadow roots.  I don't get it :)

I think the dark roots look okay on the girls as long as it matches their eyebrow color.  Most of the hair colors don't look natural to me anyway, but it always seemed to bother me when a person had platinum or yellow blonde hair and black eye brows and eye lashes.

Somehow those random guys paying a substantial fee to take cell phone video zooming in on Abigail Klein’s ass to show all his drunk friends makes it just as creepy for me. ? Ick.

Exactly!!! How gross is that!! I have daughters, and that would upset me.

Although I agree with the creepy and ick sentiment.  The Cheerleader should have thought better of her attire.  When you are out in public, people can ogle/leer/film/take pictures all they want.

Would love to see a lot less make up on all the young ladies.  Especially when they are in rehearsals. That heavy make up ages all of them.

Generally speaking, I think it shows terrible "body image" this practice that the DCC require about all the no weight gain/fake hair/cake makeup/false eyelashes/spray tans etc.

I think they look really nice, but at the same time to me, as an older woman, they all look "fake" and I would tell any daughter/granddaughter of mine not to emulate them. I'm fine with them getting all "dolled up" for performance, but not for rehearsals.

But who am I? The last time I wore make up and did my hair was for my wedding umpteen million years ago! Thankfully I chose a profession where I didn't have to impress the public.

I think she's pretty too.  I like the hair the color, sure it's from a bottle, but doesn't look any more "fake" than all the bottled blondes. Plus, it might make her stand out and get noticed.

  12. Personally, I think the show should have ended when the Ziva character left.  The show has been on for 15 years and the characters had hardly "evolved" since the first couple of seasons.  I would have liked to have seen Gibbs be in an honest to goodness supervisor position in the office and allow new characters to be added under the leadership of the other agents.  Now, with the high turnover rate in the last few years, there's really no reason, storyline wise, to even continue it.

I prefer more of a mish mash of stuff for the prelims as they don't matter much.  However, I do like the finals: solos, kick line, performance, judge opinions etc. and of course C,K & J's opinions of the final cut into training camp as well as why certain vets didn't make the cut.

I like to see the rookie/vets candidates rehearsals in more detail as opposed to just a 2 second mish mash of this person and that person, They show K&J way too much when it's not necessary on CMT.  I mean you don't have to show them making a 30 second entrance onto the field or into the room.  just insert what they are saying about said girl at the bottom of the screen.

How they get along with others, power squad, get togethers with the other girls etc.

I not only want to see what they are doing wrong but what they are doing well during rehearsals by K&J.  I hate hearing "you're blending or need more power from you" be more specific for heaven's sake of what you want from each girl!  Since all the girl is going to do is say yes ma'am and not have a clue what  you want...send them a clip of a comparison of the girl and say a vet....see what the vet is doing?  this is what you are doing and we don't like it.

Uniform fitting, Kelli getting to know the girls one on one.

    No more Anthony Ramos please!

Hear hear!  I felt he added nothing to the show.  But then again I'm not on the anti Melissa Rycroft band wagon either.  I prefer her as a judge as opposed to a "mentor" because well, it doesn't appear that K&J actually give her much information to work with other than this person is blending or this person needs more power or confidence.  That stuff is hard to teach in a 30 minute segment.  Melissa is not a choreographer nor a teacher (like Kitty).  However, as a judge she knows what the DCC is looking for in talent and looks and it is easier for her handle.

I have to agree with the person who posted about the amateur looking photography at the shoot.  Some of the suits don’t fit right...the colors are awful...the positioning of the girls is awkward.. and the pic I posted... Lexie’s foot looks awful and she’s too pretty to have a picture with bad feet! I’m hoping the pictures they’re showing are just some of the rejects. The angle it’s shot also makes them all look wider.

Agree this is not a flattering pic at all .  Poor Savannah looks like she has to pee really bad and Tasha looks like a the Barbie doll.

Kandi had surgery around that time.  I don't know when she had it, so if she wasn't strong in her solo or couldn't do the jump split, maybe that is why she was low.  And I think that is also when Nicole and Dara flunked the written test.

And in my opinion, Kandi is one of the best dancers they have ever had.

Kandi is my all time favorite DCC.  She was cute, a hard worker (one season she ran with a stop watch), did not have the same body type as everyone else, and a powerhouse dancer.

I could never tell Rachel, Molly, and Miranda apart last season.

It is one of the things that I find disappointing with DCC in the latest years.  With Chantal and Robin retiring and based on the pics of the new girls currently circulating.  Only DCC Maddie has curly hair.  Everyone else has basically the same hair. LONG! When you see the pics and videos taken from the sidelines you can't tell the difference unless you happen to have the inside knowledge of what their line up/group is. I would love to see them encourage hair diversity with curly, short (bobs) sporty spiky and even bangs!.

Also, just because you don't feel the energy from a dance on a video doesn't mean there is none. I remember when my daughter was in HS there was a soloist a few years younger than her who won everywhere she went and people gushed on about her. I watched a few videos and thought people were mad because she had blah technique in general but horrible feet specifically, her choreography seemed plain and pretty easy and she was boring to watch. We competed against her studio eventually and I kid you not, the girl was stunning to watch in person. I didn't notice her choreo, her feet or if she did any tricks. She was captivating and drew me into her story and I forgot to even pay attention to the rest. Later I went to show the video to someone and all the same thoughts I had before seeing her in person came flooding back. The video was awful. It took seeing her a few more times in person before I realized her energy, her "it factor" was not translating through the screen. Didn't matter though because the judges were watching her live. And now she dances on an NFL team and, again, people see her live. I've realized since that experience a decade ago that it's pretty common.

This!  Watching anything in person is so much better because you are experiencing the energy, music and excitement of everyone in the venue.  If you want to see the exact opposite, watch any of the solos on mute (without the influence of the music) and you will more than likely be more critical of their performances.

  19. I'll try not to judge anyone on why they choose to leave before their contract is up.  I can't say what their "intentions" were when they tried out.  Whether it was a mere stepping stone to something bigger and better, TV exposure, or a "dream" to be DCC.  But I can certainly understand why some would choose not to fulfill their yearlong contracts.

I've known people over the years that apply for multiple jobs; they accept a job and enter a contract fully expecting to fulfill that contract, then several months later another job that they previously applied for is now offering a position possibly for either more money or better benefits.  How can I blame them for quitting their job and moving to that one?

I've also known some people that select a job only to obtain a specific "experience" that plumps up their resume on their way to a different job career ladder.

People have to make their own career decisions and weigh the pros and cons that directly impact their life.

I agree with you in that I don't confuse Bess with Tess :) I guess it is an unpopular opinion! :)  I do find it humorous that others do though lol

They look very similar to me, but in my defense I find it hard to tell the people that were not shown a lot on the show apart.  Because I don't live in the state and don't ever see them in person and I don't tend to "follow" their individual social media pages so the only way I know them is if they have a lot of weekly exposure on the show. Also most of the videos shown here are taken from farther away so unless there are close ups, then they all pretty much look alike to me. :-)
