So now I wonder if they'll have to quarantine or test before going back to practices

Question:  Are their performances restricted to touchdown decks only?

If so; there really wouldn't be any way to stay 6 feet apart.

Also, I don't see them sticking to any type of social distancing for an entire football season.

  2. Okay, I laughed out loud when I saw VK's full trolley.

However, once I thought about it.....given a similar situation, I probably would have brought all the comforts of home with me too.  She's close to home so she doesn't "have" to leave anything behind, she's young and has never been sequestered before,  she's going to be there for anywhere from a 1-3 weeks I would presume...SO, I would have brought my pillow, snacks, drinks, numerous comfortable clothes/shoes, etc etc. stuff I would NOT bring with me if I were traveling out of town on vacation/business.

  3. My interpretation on Whitney getting her real estate license was for her own personal benefit because she and Zach were interested in purchasing a house.  The second benefit is so that she can be the realtor for the family, when and if one of them wants to buy.

In regards to Jackson and the military, i agree with a previous poster, in my humble opinion, the military wouldn't take him. I've had many family members who have applied and most are accepted and a couple not be accepted (even me).  During peacetime they want people who are going to fit in and progress through the ranks.  Jackson, is not educated enough to make into the military.

As Kelli once said about being in a full split, "Ya gotta touch all your.....GLORY.....to the turf". I also remember Judy saying "All y'all should be able to sit in the splits" and IIRC, it was regarding a similarly tight split.

Hopefully it's just a timing issue of when the photo was taken, as there are a couple other girls that don't appear to have their front thighs down on the ground..

  5. Here's what I found about the "challenge accepted" trend.  Since this came from the internet 🤨 who knows what the "true" intent is until the person that originated speaks up.

    https://www.standard.co.uk/insider/alist/black-white-challenge-accepted-instagram-a4510516.html

A new viral Instagram challenge is encouraging women to share black and white selfies on their social media accounts.

The new trend, referred to as “Challenge Accepted” or the “Women Supporting Women Challenge,” invites women to share a simple black and white photo of themselves.

Already, celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Olivia Wilde and Naomi Watts have taken part.

But what is it about, exactly? Here's what you need to know...

    What is the #ChallengeAccepted trend?

In a bid to share positivity and encourage female empowerment during the challenging time of the pandemic, women have been posting black and white selfies and tagging their friends to do the same - often penning heartfelt captions about strength and solidarity.

A public relations and influencer marketing manager for social media marketing firm Later told the New York Times that the new trend may have been sparked by US Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, after she spoke out against sexist comments made against her by US Representative Ted Yoho.

The powerful video triggered a wave of posts about female empowerment and feminism, which some have suggested may have also sparked the new challenge.

Some connected the challenge to another intended to spread awareness of violence against women happening in Turkey. On Twitter, a post circulated claiming the challenge was started by Turkish women to raise awareness for femicide after the murder of Pınar Gültekin. However, others dispute this and say while women were sharing black and white photos, it was not as part of this challenge. Instead, the accompanying hashtags were said to translate to "say no to violence against women" and "enforce the Istanbul Treaty," which protects women's rights.

  6. It seems to me that as long as the NFL has not canceled the season: the cheerleaders have to assume that the league is going to play and there will be at least a limited number of fans for them to perform for.

Once the NFL season is canceled then Charlotte will decide what they are going to "do" with their performance contracts and salary for the year.

So right now it's business as usual the best of their abilities given the situation.

  7. I know this is an unusual year, but If I remember correctly they rarely "cut" vets that make it to training camp.  Is there any vet that Kelli/Charlotte are unhappy enough with right now to cut during TC?

  8. Annabelle (cute as a button), Armani, Claire W, , Elli,

    Jessica, Marissa, Shannan, Sheridan.

I probably selected Marissa because she is the only one with shorter hair, so it makes her stand out to me.

  9. I don't have a problem with apprenticeship programs or even the teenagers following around Chad, Zach, Gil or whomever.  In my opinion, It's a great opportunity to decide if they like and have the constitution for that particular career plan.  If they do, great, go to college and get your license/degree; if you don't then move on to something else.

I worry about Josie, since she seems so fragile.  I don't want anyone to die and I hope the kids don't get too sick.

I'm just curious.  I know Josie was a preemie, and had issues the first few years, but does she have any health conditions now?

I would watch a reality show based on VK learning to live with someone who isn't her mother or Sam, Dayton, Haley, etc.  We already know she doesn't know how to use a can opener:)  And being away from Mommy and her dance room (garage)?  This could be good tv!!

Didn't we already see a show like that? Had to look it up *L* Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie. Now I must confess I never actually watched the show, just the ads for it, so I do not know the actual content, but I would guess the format would be pretty much the same (entitled adult child out and about in life).

It would be certainly interesting... I’m not sure everyone can follow if they only have a video to go by and they won’t be getting any corrections. I’m sure they have figured out other options as well, but I’m thinking that they would prefer to go with a vets only squad if it wasn’t for the show.

Although, I’m sure we would all appreciate getting to know the other vets a bit and seeing new sections: what they do outside of dcc (they did 2-3 sections of this), group leaders leading practice, first game, calendar shoot if and wherever that happens. I don’t know, i think it would be good for the show actually.

I agree it would be interesting to have a change up and see more of what goes on behind the scenes and in practices.

Submitted audition videos can be edited so I would assume they would be more likely to accept people that have been to the prep classes or that are known to TPTB already.

It would seem to me to be much easier on TPTB to go with an all vet squad or if they don't have enough for a complete squad due to retirement invite a few that were cut in the last year or two onto the team.

Another option is to just move auditions to late June take fewer people into training camp and cut training camp to say 6-8 weeks it would still work out just fine.  Just have CMT in there filming more often.

Okay, I'm going to maybe, possibly, give Jessa an out here:  or actually I'm giving myself an "out".  I'm sitting at home comfy in my grey tshirt and pink pants. Hubby decides hey, let's take the kiddos outside! So i just grab whatever sweater is hanging on the hook and slip on the sandals, not expecting to take a picture and post it 10 minutes later. 🙋‍♀️

Yes but identifying as a Christian wife wouldn’t necessarily make anyone assume that their views are as abhorrent as they are. They’re on a totally different level.

Question for the masses that I’ve been thinking about for awhile: IF Jinger were to get a real job, do you think she would be able to maintain it without people calling in and exposing her views—sort of like with these partnerships?

No, she would be fired pretty quickly no matter where she was hired as someone would complain to the employer just as people are doing now to the influence products.  She's pretty much unemployable and really only has the option of going to business for herself (if she actually had a talent) and selling her product to her other fundies.  Which is what Erin did with her piano CDs.

Tess looks a little out of proportion as well.  Teeny tiny bodies with visible ribs, and large sleeves, boobs, and hair.

I think if you stare at any of those pictures long enough you notice all of the things that make them look "off".  aka the scrunching down unnecessarily, the same color and hair styles,  the crossing of the legs (universal sign for I gotta pee), the too large sleeves, the too small shorts, the bursting at the seams bras, and underweight bodies.   But if you just look at the overall picture you see a pretty group of women. ☺️

I agree! I feel like several versions may retire or at least consider it... Some I will hate to see leave, others I may yawn at. And yes, the squad needs some shaking up! I've always wondered (highly unlikely) what it would be like if over half the squad decided to leave due to the nepotism??? Not being mean, just curious. Most of these gals works their butta off to be on the team! But hey, I'd rather know I'd earned mybolqce vs. A 'given'...I know I come across as awful at times, but it IS the truth!

I'm not sure if they need a "shake up" or not.  Do I want to see some go, you betcha, however, You need a "base" of 36 women that can do the DCC style on the field for games, even if they don't do it that great.  Then of those 36 you need 16 or so more specialized/technical dancers for show group. Then you also need 10-15 "ambassadors"  that are photogenic yet also have the ability to talk to media or "socialize" with the general public or with high society at specialized events.  It's very hard to find 36 people who can fit those different criteria which is why you have the "blenders" that are on the team year after year as they may not be the "best" performing DCC, but they are good for selling calendars or as ambassadors for the charity and other events.

At least that's my 2 cents.

When I was growing up, you know, back when dinosaurs were roaming the earth, I had 2 "Grandmas." There was "Grandma Dad'sLastName" and "Grandma Mom'sLastName." We always were able to tell them apart in conversation.

I never had any humanoid children, but is it a thing now that grandparents have to pick their own "name?"

well in Michelle's defense "grandma Duggar" was already taken.  So Michelle would need another name.  It's the same in my current family Great grandparents have already taken the "Grandma insert last name" so yes the new grandparents need a different name.

Gina always looks good, but the hair color is so much better here.

I don't wear make up, so it might be my naivete, but I swear it looks like someone hit her in the face, due to the way she is wearing her cheek make up; it looks to me like a bruised cheek bone as well the bruise moves up along her hairline. Her forehead is pale white as well as under her eyes and nose.  it just looks "off" to me.

Also, she's wearing jeans and a casual top, so why all the "heavy"  night time eye and cheek colors? 🤷‍♀️

Kelly’s comment: “Lawson, there’s just no one good enough in Mom’s opinion !!!!”

    🤢

Interesting that Kelly marries off her daughters ASAP,  but no one is good enough for her sons.

I'm sure just about every mother of a son believes the same as K.

Isn't it a lot easier to marry the girls off because G&K have a bit more "control" over them and by marrying them off, they are less of a financial burden?

Whereas, based on their religion, the sons in the family are supposed to be able to support any women they marry.  K probably knows that Lawson isn't making enough money with his music career, so how is he supposed to support a wife?   I'm sure G&K are not in a good enough position financially to support the sons AND their wives and children.  So that may be a reason why she is in no "hurry".

Is she on weight watch or is it a horrible angle?

I'm sure it's just a bad angle.  She didn't "need" to bend over since there was no one behind her, they often do it in pics and it makes them look rather odd as it's not a "natural" pose.

Yes, this is something that makes me both sad for the cheerleaders, and a little frustrated.

I completely understand the DCC wanting to guard its brand and image, and social media today makes that a massive uphill battle.  And I think that some (not all) of the cultist behavior stems from the fact that the squad members now really do represent the DCC 24/7 because their personal life now can be easily shared.

But, no matter how long squad members want to stay, they can't to do this for their entire lives.  They can't even do this as their only job unless they have personal wealth (which I don't think is the situation for most).  And like athletes, they are one injury away from retirement at any moment.

So when persons complain that someone is using DCC as a stepping stone, or is only a 'one and done'- I'm personally thinking "Good! Have a 10 year plan! Use this and grow!".  Because the squad won't hesitate to cut a vet if they aren't up to it's standard.  So the vets should also put their futures first too.

I agree with you that I love it when the cheerleaders have long term plans/careers after they retire. After watching the show for many years I've come to consider this more of a "prestige or status" job.  Kind of like going to an Ivy League College, or like being a Marine or Seal in the military or going to Julliard.

I wasn't just an NFL cheerleader I was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader!  I poured blood, sweat and tears to make this team!

Just like any other members of an exclusive club:  Some will use it as a stepping stone on their way towards bigger and better things and some will just hang out with each other just to network & socialize.  While others will just check it off their bucket list (one and done) and quietly move along.

The cowboys organization puts a lot of money into the uniform/makeovers/etiquette/public speaking/ambassadorship just so they can continue this "brand of exclusivity and excellence". I could be wrong but it doesn't appear to me that there is any other NFL team that puts so much attention towards their cheerleaders.

Agreed. I have lost friends over group projects at school. I can't see going into business with even my best friends. I still think the boutique isn't a sustainable project and will remain in the vanity project realm. The quality looks low and the prices could not possibly support number of people working on the project.

At least Kelton has a useful skill and actual licenses to back him up on it. I wonder what Bobby's parents think of this particular move. They probably paid a pretty penny to get him through school only for him to end up in Tennessee, married with a baby and a half, and a junior plumber who knows how to put together youth groups at church. I'm not knocking plumbers. Kelton has the actual knowledge and skills. Bobby, not so much.

I think one of the reasons they've remained best friends for so long is because one is the leader and the other is the follower.  Kelton is the strong personality, who knows what he wants and will work hard to achieve that goal.  Bobby is more of an affable sort and appears to be just fine following along to whatever "path" appears in front of him.  Both personality types can be successful.
