A Shelby Cobra (if mint), is a very rare and valuable classic (probably valued well into 6 figures).

Last scene in the episode is Colter screaming across Nevada in the Cobra on I-80, hitting around 130-140, and answering the phone:  "No sir, I haven't found the Shelby yet, but I've got a few leads..."

  2. I hope Coyle is jailed alive so that he can't escape the sentence that Father Percy received.  I halfway think there will be some suicides among that pack of jackals.  Good to know that Lorna is able to sleep now and her daughter welcomes her into her life, at least a little.

  3. It really was interesting.  The amount of work the crew put in to change appearances was impressive.  The front of "Skeldale House" is in Grassington, but the rear is in Arncliffe, and the interiors are on a studio lot.  As are the interiors for the Drovers Arms.  And the bread shop had a ready made shelf of fake, laquered bread to put in the real window of the real shop.  That's funny.  And, of course, no documentary would be complete without mentioning Mother Nature's timetable of sunshine v. rain.

  4. So, the $20,000 reward for the missing car (???) was set aside for the helpless lost woman for $5000?  Better start thinking about economics if you want to pay off the $75,000 trailer and $60,000 pickup.  So now, it's off to Mt. Shasta, finally.

Did Colter pay up front for the minor surgery, or did he just walk out on the basis of hotness with the doctor?  Inquiring minds might want to know.  Or not.

Interesting that Tozer, after getting a beatdown, is all too willing to talk to Colter about Mia back up in the woods.

    Cherchez le femme, boys!

I still don't understand where she was for 6 months but frankly, I don't really care.

She did make some mention of being on a large (campaign) fire for the last six months, which just piles on the absurdities.

  6. The only thing I enjoyed about this episode was Bode getting an ass chewing from Eve for leaving the fire crew and free lancing it.  That really is a serious offense.  But then she hugs him.  Wrong.

Hey, show, here's a fun fact.  Division Chiefs don't get demoted to Firefighter after being on rehab or fire assignment.  And firefighters don't get to wear their hair below the ears or collar while on duty, no matter how sexy they look.

"We don't sacrifice one life for the better good of everyone!"  We also don't make two victims where there used to be one, especially if the likelihood is that she's dead.  But we're glad that Gabrielle has been trained up and highly qualified as an underwater cave rescue technician, right?  I wonder what the water temp was.  No chance of hypothermia, I guess.

  7. I have a bit of trouble believing that out of the entire CFD, not one other AED malfunctioned in a similar manner, and no one did any investigation, especially with a 5 box lot.

Hermann, with his knack for get rich quick schemes, should draw up a schedule for use of the recliner.  With a nominal fee of course.  Payable in advance.

I found it amusing that while Mouch and Hermann are trying to dream up some built in obsolescence for the Slammigan, the Truck Company is using two standard Halligans to break into the hospital room.

  8. Advertising blunder:  "Siri, remind me to watch Quantum Leap on Tuesdays."  (next Tuesday) - "Shut up, Siri."  (2 weeks later) - SHUT UP, SIRI!"

I know NASCAR is the acronym for Stock Cars, but do they really have odometers?  I'm pretty sure everyone knows how far they have to go.

I was hoping that Ben and Hannah did hook up, and produced Jeffery, unknown to Josh.  And we could have a "Luke, I'm your father" moment at the racetrack.  Of course, that would really, really set Gideon ablaze.

Speaking of Jeffery, kid ran up 25 flights of stairs?

I loved Ben's comment about Burton's last month - "I've seen enough movies to know that never ends well."

If I had to guess, the happy couple ended up in c. 1940 London, during the Blitz?

  9. Nice bookending with the two nurses realizing that they're not all powerful and Isobel telling Jubal the same at the end.

Good idea, getting the NYPD involved.  The FBI with its four field agents could always use the help of the largest municipal police department in the country when it comes to finding someone.

A bit more situational awareness, people.  Both times the agents approached suspects, they just pushed them up against a barrier and started questioning them.  No handcuffs, no frisking.

  10. It's too bad that Lorna is half-baked from lack of sleep, because her facial expression, coupled with her lack of reserve at crucial moments, scares the hell out of possible witnesses.  What I'm curious about is the fact that, even if the women signed off on the lawsuit, the convent/laundry/kidnapping ring would still be criminally liable if the Irish government took up the case.  Certainly there is enough evidence to warrant official investigation.  The suit might even be dismissed because of conflict of interest, but it could certainly be reinstated with another attorney as the State has already conceded that it was a laundry.

That damn fool drunken local deserved that punch.  I hope his actions received local news so that his wife knew he was having sex with a 15 year old.

And I hope that Sgt. Massey owns up to his past and gets behind the women.

It looks like the episode titles will be named after the towns that Colter visits

Then they better bump up the budget for gasoline.  K-Falls to Missoula is not a Sunday drive, and then back to Mt. Shasta?  Pull out the credit card.  I have no idea where Springland is yet.

Those are very sobering statistics and I can see why everyone looked so very worried.

Our posts crossed in the internet.  I will add that the rate of PTSD was quite high also, due to these statistics.  I've read that airmen who finally broke down and refused to fly were labeled as LMF, or 'lack of moral fiber', and given ground jobs.  Sounds like bullshit to me, but that's the way they did it.  There were also what they called "Whispers in the Wind", or verbal scuttlebutt that the fighter command authorized their people to shoot down RAF bombers that appeared to be deserting and heading to neutral countries (Sweden, Switzerland).  Desertion rates were high for both the RAF and the USAAF.

  13. That sure was convoluted.  The only thing I really understood was the scene between Sam and Gabrielle at the pool.  I did appreciate some of the snappy dialogue, though.

  14. Carmody:  "I'm afraid I might have stuck my foot in my mouth with Mrs. Hall again."

Siegried:  "Only one?  That's progress."   Sharp as a tack.

I agree about Carmody.  I wonder how he managed to navigate through adult life and school.  Interrupting the toast?  Sit down and shut up!  I liked how they focused on Siegfried when WWI was mentioned.

I imagine James, being in a critical position, would have received some leniency for AWOL that early in the war.  Maybe a short stay in the stockade, but eventually he might be returned to bomber training.  A second offense, however, would receive much harsher treatment.  Desertion would merit an entirely different level of punishment, if you got caught.

Just as a notice, my local PBS station, having started the pledge drive begathon, is showing another episode of "All Things" next Sunday, entitled "Touring the Dales".  It may be a rerun from past seasons, but it's worth checking your TV schedule to see if your PBS station is running it.

  15. Hobbs could very easily have sidestepped any questioning by being vague with the guy in the bathroom.  "What brings you here?"  "We heard about this place, decided to try it out."  Instead, he pinned himself in the corner by stating that he was coming back to the restaurant.
